  many of the deletions in the usa appear to be foreign language groups.

  i'll start by stating the obvious... according to the watchtower, the catholic church is a huge part of babylon the great which is led by satan and his demons.

  raymundus martini, a catholic monk (who "represents" babylon the great to some extent), woke up one day in the 13th century and decided to alter yhwh so it can be easily pronounced.

  hence the spanish-ish version of yhwh was created... jehova... (sounds something like this in spanish: heh-o-va).

  I believe that, since the 1980's, when Ray Franz and others started stirring the pot in Brooklyn, many high level bethelites realized that the name of the religion really should have been

  Yahweh's Witnesses - or - YHWH's Witnesses

  But imagine having to make that change. Even worse... imagine having to finally admit that they got "Jehovah" from Babylon the Great! It's way too late to admit something like that or even claim Nu-Lite. And to mitigate this, the very few times they made any mention of Raymundus in the WT publications, they only say that he was a "monk" and stop short of saying "Catholic Monk".

  I would be interested in knowing your take on this subject. thank you.

  JWGonebad... actually they used to rake in huge sums of money selling hamburgers and hotdogs at District Assemblies. Some here might recall the coupon book you had to buy beforehand if you wanted to eat. But they figured out that discontinuing food service led to more cash in the cardboard boxes at the end of each day.

  we seem to have had an influx of religiots - the people who want to tell us all about how we / the wts / whoever are wrong, wrong, wrong about everything and how right they are.

  they obviously have special insight, or voices (probably voices, right?

  ) telling them the real truth.. as proof, there is inevitably a wall of random scripture references and quotes.. sorry, but we're not here for that.

  JWs Still Attending on Zoom

  another topic based on a conversation with a friend living near warwick (i talked to him over the weekend).

  he said that cong's in and around bethel, including his, are slowly starting to see an uptick with people attending in person his cong is pretty much 75%+ in person.

  however there are many that still use zoom as a fall back.

  Exbethelite... good point about not even telling their wives. Most of the leaks about wrongdoing in local kingdom halls (especially those that lead to disfellowshipping) are usually because an elder couldn't resist the urge to tell their jobless wife about it.

  The WT arrived at October 2, 1914 (end of Gentile Times) using a Pagan calendar.

  But each year the WT arrives at the Memorial date using a Jewish Calendar.

  I wonder which calendar they'll use to determine when the 3rd overlapping generation will start to overlap with the 2nd overlapping generation. Scholar, you should help them decide.
