  how old were you when you lost your virginity and was it all that you thought it would be?????.

  i was 19, and my first time was a complete let down.

  i envisioned that gothic romance motif, all about romance and love, i didn't know what i was doing, didn't know sex was like that.

  i'm going over a discussion in my head i had with a jw online, at the same time, i'm on line waitring to have my order taken at the mcdonald's, "can i take your order?

  " she says, and i say, "can i have a watchtower meal.

  Why are the witnesses suddenly smiling at me?

  hi all..... i was starting to feel like i was walking around outside in me undies.... is there something new going on... people who normally always looked at me with disdain are suddenly smiling and making friendly.... is anything up????

  Defacing Watchtower materials

  hey, folks.

  just curious: did any of you ever deface your magazines?

  i had a friend growing up in the congregation and, kids that we were, we'd snap up our new watchtowers and awakes and we'd draw our own captions for the pictures, usually with hilarious results.

  You know you're in a sad cult when you have to deface it's literature for amusement!

  I would 'modify' all the cool paintings in the Revelation book, and add my own extra captions to them, for instance, the one where the Harlot rides the 7-headed beast would get a caption like "This is what happens when you give your cat too much whiskey"

  ExJW's Make Better Lovers?

  i don't mean in general, i mean for exjw's... is there a noticable advantage to pairing with someone with the same background?

  i'd like to read your thoughts and experiences on this subject.. i've been romantically involved few times, since "the light got brighter" for me about the organization, with people who didn't know anything about jw's before meeting me.

  one of them viewed my exjw activity as a bit obsessive but okay as long as she got to obsess on her favorite obesssions, too.

  what happened?

  just another thread to find out the popular opinion on what happened to the dinosaurs.there are several popular theories such as meteor shower ,super volcanoes or solar flares i'm open to any and all theories or new findings .personally i go with the meteor shower one .the dinosaur represents the most successful time in the history of our planet where life flourished for untold millenium only to become extinct seemingly over night.any opinions are welcome ,thank you for any participation.

  OMG, this is such a cool thread! It's utterly amazing how most of the people here had that watershed moment, that stark, hard dividing moment in their lives where they realized they could never, ever go back, not even if they tried. WOW. My experience was virtually the same! One day, straight after field service, January 1999, I just realized that I couldn't take it anymore. I'd barely been able to talk to people in service that morning, and had dreaded the thought that a friend from school would open the door every time I knocked. Working with an Elder, too, meant that I'd have had to do the preaching work anyway, regardless. The horror!

  In my case, I literally felt SICK. I just lay in the backseat of my parents' car afterwards, and that's where I made my decision. I can still recall it like it was yesterday - even to the place where I made the decision. It's been irrevocably burnt into my memory with the fire of pure, agonous emotion that characterizes the exit of most people from a cult. Of course, a lot of people just sorta gradually drift out, but many among us find themselves presented with a singular moment where everything comes together.

  Good grief. That was one of the most trying times of my entire life. There'd been disturbances, ill-feeling from the other people in the Congregation towards me before, all of which I had carefully tucked away in my mind for future reference. Things like the way people would talk about me, how Elders would counsel me to spend less time with my beloved computer learning how to program and instead focus more on the Watchtower (PUH-LEEZE), how the sisters in the KH would look at me, it was almost like I could hear them saying: There goes that smart-ass, the one who took Maths AND Science on Higher Grade in High School! So UNSUBMISSIVE!!!!!! Probably gonna kick the bucket at (H)Armageddon! Needless to say, I wasn't too popular with the kids my age...perhaps they feared me, perhaps they feared the way I would sometimes rip apart the things they said in subtle ways after they answered at the Book Study (near the end of my DubDom I didn't care anymore, and it all became a game, to see how many stupid inconsistincies I could highlight, pulling random Scriptures out of my head to defeat most of their logic using THEIR OWN BIBLE!) Let's just say, I got more than a few dirty looks from the Bookstudy Conductors. I didn't dare do it in the KH, 'cause I knew I'd get kicked out or reprimanded, and I didn't want to put my parents through that.

  My parents sat in the Hall when they announced my Disassociation.

  To this day, I still believe they handled it really well when I told them I didn't wanna be a Dub anymore. Like adults. Well done, parents! It's appreciated...

  what would you say if a close friend was to come to you and say: "i've secretly been studying with jehovah's witnesses and i plan to join their organization.

  i know how you feel about the witnesses, but i truly feel that they are god's chosen organization.

  i don't really want to hear anything negative about the society, but out of respect for our friendship, i'll let you briefly mention one reason why i shouldn't.
