Ray Franz
by pbrow ini know ray and his wife have passed but i wanted to take a few minutes and put my thanks in writing.
it is pretty incredible to me that someone who i never met, played such a major role in my outlook on life and more importantly in my (at the time) young daughters lives.
from the very first pages of "crisis of conscience" it seemed as though ray was writing to me.

Religious offshoots / breakaway groups from Jehovah`s Witnesses around the world.?
by smiddy3 ini believe there are some breakaway groups in different parts of the world ,however i think they are small sects and fall under the radar so to speak.
either jw`s or ibsa ?.
does anybody here know of any and have any information about them ?

The Free Bible Students were a group that did their own thing even while Russell was still in charge, they came into being for the most part around 1907 with the "New Covenant Schism". Theyve pretty much left Russell behind, and generally believe in the supremacy of the Father and no hellfire. Christian Discipling Ministries International does outreach worldwide via the internet.

and here are the general beliefs https://web.archive.org/web/20090803103854/http://www.cmfellowship.org/docs/faq.htm

I am super grateful he wrote his books as well, I missed being able to meet him with my awaking by just a couple years. Sometimes I wonder what wouldve happened of he stayed inside and tried to moderate things, because it seems to me the GB definitly took a hard line bent after he left.

Speaking with Demons
by BereanThinker7 inhaving learned more actual christian beliefs since awaking from the org, looking back we had such strange and unhealthy obsession with demons compared to any other denomination that i know of.
i recently remembered this article from when i was a kid.
https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/101986604?q=talk+to+the+demons&p=par#h=23.

I also remember a story that was in a yearbook but its obscure in my memory. Supposedly demons were snapping the necks of people in a village who wanted to study and put a ladys baby in an oven??? It was something along those lines . . .

The guy says he spoke with demons and all sorts other weird things. Of course I am highly skeptical that the org would ever print anything like this now or that this even happened lol. The article mentions the writer as being Ralph Anderson and his wife is Mari, it seems like they would have been from the Oakland CA area. Its a long shot but did anyone ever know them in person or hear of them???

I think its an attempt to remove from the witnesses consciousness, how can the organization be "spirit directed" yet change those "spirit directed" teachings on the regular? Sort of similar to the question I'm sure all of us had at some point, What is the difference between saying the Org isn't "inspired" but IS "spirit directed?" I think this coupled with some legal reason caused them to inadvertently remove the holy spirit aspect from baptism all together! Shows where the leaderships real priorities are.

Question for Mulan.......

i was wondering if that was still in the works?
i'd sure like to read what he has to say.

I still hope that something written from him comes out eventually. It's a shame to lose the knowledge and experience of some of those who have been on the inside and seen things firsthand.

Advice on Disassociating
by HiddenPimo inhello my exjw/pimo/pomo friends,.
i am working on penning my da letter and wondered if i should use it as a tool to maybe wake up individuals as the boe will have to read it.. anyone have any advice on what i should say versus what i should leave out?
i am not going to fade as my family can either be loyal to blood or loyal to a man made religion.

While the decision is a personal one and everybody has to do whats right for them. I strongly feel that the most good can be accomplished by those who stick it out as "faded" for as long as possible. I allows enough communication open that those who still talk to you will almost inevitably as why you don't go to meeting any more and boom you've got an in to drop just a few pieces of information on them they probably wouldn't have come across with open ears otherwise.
Choose your topic accordingly to whoever is asking as well. Some people its going to be U.N. association or the ARC. Others it will be doctrinal, "How can we not have Jesus as our mediator?" "How could there have been a first century G.B. if the "slave" wasn't selected until 1919, and that was in the middle of the gentile times when Jehovah had no earthly representatives?"
