Just reading here on this forum, I've noticed that ex JWs seem to be more giving than when they were in as well as current jws. I've noticed a pull in this direction for myself as well. Any ideas or theories as to why exciting the bORG seems to make people more giving?

little acts of kindness.
by zeb injust had a coffee on way home when two young mums with babys in strollers came in with the usual bags and stuff for the little ones needs.
i recall our days of little ones and the times we rarely went out.. i bought a coffee voucher for each mum and gave them my best wishes.
i delight in doing random acts of kindness.. i wish everyone here as well a safe and happy christmas/ new year time.

Guess that explains why the old folgies always seemed to drive so slow when I was a kid - except for Granny, she was a lead-foot and for some reason everyone around her would always be driving the wrong direction
I guess that explains why, for an old man of war like Jehovah, one day is like 1,000 years.
Stinks though, this fast time stuff. I suppose perhaps it's easier when you're retired? Hey at least the pimo meetings go by faster.

Why do Jehovah`s Witnesses believe everything will be Hunky Dory after Armageddon ? I have news for them.
by smiddy3 inthey seem to think that all they will do is enjoy a carefree life with little or no concerns problems or worries whereas nothing could be further from the truth... according to the bible.. without trying to speculate on these concerns or problems during this one thousand year reign of christ jesus ,lets hear what the bible has to say about the end of his thousand year reign.. rev.20:7-10 satan is to be let out of his prison {as if he hasn`t done enough damage in 6000 years of roaming about in the earth at the same time fraternizing with jesus and jehovah in heaven} i digress.. and the reason he is let out of prison ,lo and behold ,is to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth gog and magog to gather them together for the war.
{ here we go again ,armageddon didn`t solve anything we have to go through another one.
} 1000 years later.. now get this it`s not just some isolated little skirmish with a few hundred or even a few thousand dissenters ,as the bible states they number the sands of the seashore and they advanced over the breadth of the earth and encircled the camp {not a nation but a camp} of the holy ones.and the beloved city.. with that description it would seem the holy ones are in the minority and the opposes apparently were spread over all the earth.. so that description of the bible to me about jc 1000 rule does not appear to be one of living in a paradise , that is not on the agenda until after jesus christ 1000 year reign and only if you are lucky enough to survive another test/war of your loyalty after all you have gone through previously.. i wonder if this realization is one of the reasons why so many now are claiming to be of the anointed because as one of the other sheep you have to pass another test after the 1000 years of christ jesus rule whereas of one of the anointed on death now you go straight to heaven ..

so looks like best bets to get past big A & 1000yrs with minimal fuss is to die now, before the trouble starts. You don't want tot be destroyed at big A do you?
In fact, if you practice some gross sin in the 1000 yrs, you will die as a young (wo)man so best to stop while you're ahead there too and live it up!
Of course their entire understanding of all these events is from self-appointed men twisting the written word to suit their own desires.

How many anointed have come and gone; how many remain?
by Moster injust wondering if there is any data about how many anointed there were in say 1914, and considering most would have passed 'beyond the veil' already, are the jw's numbers adding up?
we know there are more in 2017 then there were in 2016, but just where are we in the grand total column?.

I was wondering about this myself - they obviously have the 144k thing wrong, even if you believe in the bible.

What if the crucifixion never took place..

What if the crucifixion never took place..
Well then the JWs were right on something at least, that Jesus wasn't executed on a cross after all.

Hell Exists
by Poppy520 inmany people of all denominations are beginning to believe that hell does not exist - but the bible supports the claim that it does.
examine this verse, one under nkjv and the other nwt:.
nkjv - matthew 25:46, "and these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.".

If god really wanted all to attain to repentance and to not destroy any, why didn't he do the following:
Preserve all scriptures in original form
Make all scriptures consistent w/ each other
Give each generation of mankind the same level of awesome proof of his existence and interest in human affairs
(Israelites witnessing the parting of the sea would have had a better chance at believing in god than people today who have witnessed nothing but a sh!t-ton of abusive religionists and inconsistent "holy writings")

Christian "NO GO" zones in US
by Coded Logic ini can't believe this is taking place in our country!
all across america there are areas where people are trying to enforce christian law!
outsiders are strictly forbidden from entering and they have private security and guards to keep people out.

So I'm banned from some obscure place that I wouldn't want to go to anyways? Not sure I see the problem there. A bit like getting banned from mosques or synagogues I'd say.
I think my main concern there would be for the poor saps who have been duped into being there.

The speed with which I exited!!
by joe134cd ini was just thinking at how quickly the process was from pimi - pimo - pomo.
i must of spent about 10 years trudging along in the organization very unhappily.
but from the initial stages of learning ttatt to physically walking out the door the process took about 18 months.

A couple of years pimo for me so far, for familial reasons. If not for that, I would have went from pimi to pomo in 5 seconds flat.
I'm not sure I will make it to this next memorial though. Its starting to seem pointless.
