This is a complete oxymoron. Why? Because Baruch which this chapter concerns was a scribe and underling of Jeremiah. He was of noble birth and received schooling and training or he wouldn't be in the position he was in.
While it is true that vs. 4,5 are an indication that Baruch was caught up in likely becoming a head of state the admonition here is one of refraining from politics more than anything.
This chapter is better applied to not taking position in man's governments. As to higher education though it is completely irrelevant as Baruch had higher education.
Complete misapplication in my opinion.

death at the 'memorial'
by eyeuse2badub ini just got the news from our former congregation in hollister, ca regarding a tragic event following the 'memorial' wednesday night.
we shared the kh with 2 spanish congos.. a couple from the spanish congregation were leaving the kh so that the next spanish congo could have their 'memorial'.
they exited the parking lot in their car when hit by an oncoming car right in front of the kh.

They return for the social support system not because it's true. Let's face it you have a whole social structure handed to you in the org. That's the good part. The bad is that you may die because you're part of it and some doctrine or rule eventually affects you or your family. -

@Steph I feel the same way at times. Almost better to not know from the perspective of dealing with family and friends that have not come out from under the influence and mind control. It really does suck at times.
Think is that if you know the truth then you control your own path whereas not knowing you are completely controlled. So at times it may be frustrating just remember you are in control no one else.

So you're saying the old testament wasn't written in Greek in the Codex Vaticanus? You might want to inform the Vatican that the treasure they've been storing for centuries is missing a few pages...
