"I should have known" moments
by dubstepped ini got ready for the meeting.
my wife did too.
we drove out to the kingdom hall and the closer we got the higher my anxiety would spike.

Yes dubstepped, yes! Same here! Being a born-in, I kept telling myself I was a bad person and a failiure and I tried to conform - I didn't know any different. It made me ill.
I told my mother a few years ago that the kingdom halls were full of lonely, depressed, pill-popping, sad people and not the happy place that it's advertised to be - not exactly God's happy people are they with their fake prozac loveliness. Her head snapped right around and her eyes went wide. ''Do you really think so?'' she said. I shrugged and left her with the cogs turning. She has loads of female friends popping happy pills but she didn't know that I knew that.

Yes but the kind of persecution they were expecting was for just being Jehovah's Witnesses, no? I'm not sure they were expecting persecution to mean someone telling them they are refusing the body of Christ by not partaking of the bread and wine or court case after court case and Governmental inquiries due to peadophilia cover-ups or telling them their contributions are being spent on Payouts to abuse victims and property. I certainly wasn't under that impression back in the day. Persecution as far as I understood it was going to be imprisonment for remaining a witness, being attacked in the street, having my house damaged, my life threatened etc. Maybe I'm wrong... -

TRUTH or OPINION--which is it when the Governing Body speaks?
by Terry inwhen and why did the governing body suddenly appear?.
the governing body of jehovah’s witnesses, for all practical purposes, did not really exist as it does today, until a dangerous crisis** had developed in the watchtower religion at the headquarters beginning of the 1970’s.
historically, the founder of the watchtower corporate empire was a men’s clothing entrepreneur named c.t.

Thank you Terry, I enjoy reading your posts.
It set out as a business and it still is a business. As much as I want to believe these GB members have all been honourable religious men wanting to guide Christians to the right path, I just can't. I want to, really...
Russell had to set out as relaxed as possible, as righteous as possible, as democratic as possible to attract members. Rutherford thought he knew better and it sounds like his ego demanded full control over everything. Since then it's a tangle of nutters and power struggles. Learning from previous mistakes and also lack of talent in writing and lack of new material and having to correct bad light, has shown that casting the net wider and having larger numbers running the show is a better way forward. If nothing else, it gives more bodies to point the finger of blame at.
Now we're in the corporate era and the age of where blame means lawsuits! So, devolved management is the new order of the day. In effect does this not mean that the president of the Watchtower would be responsible for any lawsuits filed against Watchtower? That president still exists, his name is on the money end of the business, Watchtower. So if say they had multiple cases against them and they wanted to shut up shop, in effect it frees-up the GB to stay open for business with Watchtower mark II looking after the ''business' end with Watchtower mark I, in liquidation. Nothing changes, good idea, hide the money, let's sell up, tuck it away and build cheaper HQ's.
But what of the teachings? Why has it gone from Russell's 'open-door' policy to full blown business cult? Was that the plan all along? I think so...
Was it not Russell's uncle who set up Skull and bones? His uncle wanted to be a minister too! Did not Russell have a fascination with teachings found in the illuminate? Did Russell not print illuminate wording and references all over his literature? He's in the illuminate graveyard, no? and as the years have ticked by sure, the pictures of illuminate symbols have subsided and they've tried to get away from the old pyramids and such but they've clung ever closer to teachings that resonate with the illuminate; refusing the emblems of Christ, child sacrifice both sexually and murder, human sacrificing with no-blood policy, secret meetings in all ranks, mind control techniques, dumbing down of followers, dodgy business dealings with parties of conflicting interests, instilling fearful, unforgiving, judgemental attitudes, introducing ranks, safeguarding and rewarding criminals, misdirecting worship to false G.O.D. ie. themselves, theocratic warfare a.k.a. lying, setting up multiple corporations and moving money until it's untraceable, to name just a few. JEHOVAH, the name illuminate use, WATCHTOWER, illuminate word and many more words. THE NEW WORLD translation of the holy scriptures! The new world in itself is a concept which the illuminate has as it's aim. Zion's watchtower? awake???
I think you see who they really are, no?
Sorry Terry... I got a little carried away there:)))

Commercial activism.
by Ben131895 inin his last couple of vlogs, john cedars is wearing a t-shirt saying shunned.
some people liked it and asked him if they could purchase one.. in his last vlog (#111) he is advertising it and mentioned the link www.apostee.com, based in the us.
comments attached to vlog # 110 mentioned the fact that this company will close in april and that the business will be continued by cedars itself, who has also a stock of anti-witness items.. besides that, he was not the owner of jwsurvey.org, but since january 16, 2016 he is.. it looks (as mentioned before by simon in an earlier thread), this guy is making a living from his activism, a paid career.. one should seriously question his true motives, demonstrated in his activism.

@dubstepped - Hear, hear! I have no problem with it either. Like him or not, he produces great content that's benefiting everyone. It takes a LOT of time and he has a family to provide for.
It's us vs Watchtower! Don't forget that! Divide and conquer wins wars... so let's stay united!
Keep up the good work activists. A big thank you to you ALL!

My parents haven't been to a meeting for a year now....
by purrpurr innow don't get me wrong, they still consider themselves jw's.
but they seem to be plagued with ill health... especially on meeting days?
they are very depressed about it of course and moan about how much they would like to be at the hall.

Just my opinion...
Yes, it can be their subconscious mind. The subconscious mind does amazing things when you don't listen to what it wants. Their subconscious knows it's not the truth and is fighting against the mind-control that's manipulating the mind... but JW's keep themselves in denial within the mind by telling their subconscious to shut-up, it's the truth. So the subconscious eventually over-rides this battle that's causing the mind harm by causing mystery illnesses to stop you from doing what's harming you, physically. The subconscious is what the GB labels as ''satan attacking you'' and tells you to ignore it by doing more. Bastards! Is it any wonder the dubs are popping pills to cope!
This happened to me years ago at work - the on-site doctor knew straight away what was going on. I had no clue. My subconscious took my voice away, everyday at worktime so that I couldn't physically do my job which was dealing with clients problems on the phone. No voice, no taking on problems. Now lets deal with why your subconscious is stopping you from doing your job she said. Tell me about your past she said. Flood gates opened, nervous break-down ensued. I was shocked.
This is what happens when we don't listen to what our body/gut instinct/subconscious mind, is telling us is right and wrong for us.

Only people researching outside of the org. come here. What about the ones who go by the teachings to not do so? They would never hear about the child sex abuse scandal, the property scandal, the wrong teaching about not partaking etc. If there ever was a time for agressive activism to be worthwhile, it's NOW! Strike while the iron is hot! It's a chance that needs taking while independent news outlets are hot on the collar of the org. They need attacking from all angles. Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of one on one agressive activism but en masse is something entirely different.
