Is there anyone sticking up for your side? Any family members or friends you confide in?

Seems to me your wife needs to understand the word ''wife''. Some ground rules need laying down! I think the father needs asking the question would HE put up with what you're going through!

Maybe the father-in-law is trying to excuse his daughters behaviour by trying to pull you down so he can tell his ''mates'' look, it was him leading her astray. Maybe he's trying to save face!

Woah... you've done amazing to go through all that!

Yes the baby is definitely mine (she looks just like me!). My wife confided in this elder a month into her pregnancy because she was worried about being pregnant and being a decent mum.

and he went and did that??????????? Knowing that she was pregnant??????????? OH MY! That brought tears to my eyes:((( What an a@@hole!!! What's happened to him?

Wow! In just an hour I've had more support and advice from complete strangers that 31year in "the truth"!!!!

I'm truly blown away by all the support and replies.

Yeah the ones who stand up for themselves tend to leave hahaha or get kicked out hahahaha.

Congratulations on being a daddy:)

Now start planning on how to tear them elders a new one

My advice is a bit out there...

To be honest, I'd write this all down warts and all and send it to the C.O. behind your wife's back. Sorry wife but you know, ''rafter'' and all that. Say that all the elders have stumbled you and you are being harassed while you're still trying to fight to keep in after everything that's happened. After all this that you've been through, you should go out in flames and take them all down. I'd do it on behalf of the ones still in having to put up with these ''lords''.

Do you mind me asking, is the baby definitely yours? Don't answer that if you don't want. It is private. But...

It turns out, my wife had just found out she is pregnant. She confides in an elder at her workplace because she's worried about the future. This elder "kindly" advises they should keep in touch via txt but in private. Then later they end up in a hotel room "so they can talk in private". So she told me the whole story. The elder tried to keep her from telling me, warning her "if you tell your husband it will ruin your life".

Sorry, but from a woman's perspective this is sounding highly suspicious! Highly!!! Is the baby yours???

So sorry about your situation. But now you have lots of friends on here.

Who Picks The Governing Body?

i am sorry that on my first post i am asking for help and advice but i am at my wits end.

i have been brought up a witness all my life and it is all i know.

i am an ex-elder and pioneer and i don't know anybody outside of the congregation.. i have been unhappy for so long and wanted to leave.

The best therapists are the ones who've been through it themselves. Any ex-jdub who's gone into psychology is quids-in! Unfortunately, they're rare as hens teeth. Maybe more will start advertising if dubland explodes!

"Idiots getting heavy?" Yes! It's a possibility. If the amount of child abuse cases gone unreported is in it's thousands which it's sure to be, gets into the main news which it sure will do, expect the worst! Media frenzy!!!! It won't be like anything else we've seen regarding jdubs. Uk is now a very different kettle of fish to what it was twenty years ago. The anger at unrelated goings on of the country are at a peak and every scandal that's outed is being jumped on by vigilantes who don't even know what they're fighting against - or who. It might be a blessing in disguise that there are so many kingdom halls to spread the thugs thin on the ground but if any of our loved ones live alone in a not so idyllic community that knows they're a dub... well, i'll be taking my mum from her home. It depends how accurate the media is in getting over the correct information but if derek o'hare's tube channel is seen as an example on how to deal with it by people who don't know anything about the witnesses... heaven help us! It will frighten my mum to death! Expect the worst at kingdom halls! And i doubt those f@ckers, the GB will turn up this time. They'll send a minion, if that. Stand up for Jehovah? Yeah, right!

Don't know what the law states about charity status organizations flipping property is... i'm guessing they have to have the property for a certain amount of years before they can sell it to qualify non payment of tax on the profit but when you've got a property portfolio the size of watchtower, you can afford to sit on them for however many years in order to wait. Your investment's only going one way and that's up! Buying prime property wreaks of flipping for profit to me. Every little helps.
