Very Weird Experience During Recent Special Talk After Memorial
by Tenacious inhesitantly i attended this talk with my family and sat through it without batting an eye.. mentally i take myself out during the entire meeting some would describe this as daydreaming or zoning out.
whatever the case may be, for some reason this particular speaker, whom i know of but not personally, got my attention the way he would say certain phrases.
he cited some texts that directly advised the audience that faith in christ was the only way to salvation.

@Theoldhag - who are you? I see you pop up every now and again with really nasty comments. Normally I notice that everyone just ignores you so I won't give you too much of my time but what's your deal? Are you still in? A sympathizer? Drunk? -

Any other teenagers on here?
by BlackWolf ini'm 16 and it seems like most the people on this forum are adults.
i would think since most teenagers have tablets/smartphones there would be more on here but maybe not?
it would be nice to meet some other young people.

I'm sure there's loads of teenage JW's out there like yourself BlackWolf looking to socialize with others the same age - why not start something up and bring them to you - that could be really popular?! Maybe you can find some younger ones on exjw reddit? -

Sounds like he may be awake... interesting. Maybe you should make friends - tell him you enjoyed the talk and his prayer. See what comes of the conversation. -

According to the Bible, GB is committing an unforgivable sin
by elbib in“the soul that does something deliberately [footnote says “with uplifted hand”] whether he is native or an alien resident, he speaking abusively of jehovah’s word, in that case that soul should be cut off from among his people.” (numbers 15:30).
according to this verse, acting with “high-handedness” and “speaking abusively of jehovah’s word” constitute disfellowshipping offence.
1) “high-handedness” is something that jws themselves silently experience from jb, hence require no witness or proof.

3) By teaching that God Almighty felt ‘challenged and taunted’ by one of His own creatures is “sinning against holy spirit” which according to Jesus is an unforgivable sin in this system of things and in that to come. (Mathew 12:32)

Possible Cure/Treatment For All Neurologic Disease
by metatron inthis is a very deep, complicated article.
that said it offers great hope for finding effective treaments for parkinsons, alzheimers, lou gerhrig's disease and huntington's.. it concerns autophagy - an internal housekeeping system used by cells to get rid of defective proteins.. more than the above, it could lead to a cure for aging itself!.

@smiddy - You might want to have a look on earthclinic.com for posts by 'Ted'. Ted's not well himself at the moment - he suffered a massive stroke last year so he can't respond to any comments as he's still in recovery but I see he's left information for someone else about Parkinson's. At the bottom of each page click the tab to go to next page. Here's the link;
http://ted.earthclinic.com/cures/parkinsons.html
Ted's got a lab and he treats patients - He worked in USA for a long time, now he's back home in Bangkok. He posts all his findings on there. He's legit. Let me know if you need help with anything... hope your wife's feeling better soon.
@Stillin - Lost my faith a long time ago when the doc wanted me to drink radio-active fluid. Er, NO! I'll cure myself thanks! And I did! Poor doctors are being blindsided with their schooling! Never seen so much corruption in all my life as the state of the medical profession. It's a disgrace.

Survey: How long were you in the cult vs what year you were baptized
by ILoveTTATT2 inhi people,.
i want as much data as possible on the effect of the internet on the time captured by the cult.. please answer the three following questions about yourself or about someone you know (for example, if your parents or grandparents were jw's and left).
1) were you raised as a jw, or did you convert?.

Skedaddle
1) Born-in/raised
2) 1994 (Baptized aged 15yrs old but was born-in soo...)
3) 1998 (I left in 1998 but wasn't fully mentally out until learning TTATT in 2008)
4 years from Baptizm to leaving but 19 years from birth to leaving or 14 years from baptizm to learning TTATT or 30 years from birth to learning TTATT????
(Sorry for all the info but it annoys me to write 4 years being a witness when really it destroyed 30 years of my life)

Directors[edit]
Current[edit]
- Don Alden Adams, director since 2000, president since 2000
- Danny L. Bland, director since 2000
- William F. Malenfant, director since 2000, vice-president since 2000
- Robert W. Wallen, director since 2000, vice-president since 2000
- Philip D. Wilcox, director since 2000
- John N. Wischuk, director since 2000
These people run the mothership regarding all financials of the business and you can read about the set-up on this link;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watch_Tower_Bible_and_Tract_Society_of_PennsylvaniaDon Adams is one of, if not the longest serving witness out of the lot of them including the GB members who it appears are just seven puppets who front the cult. Don Adams is an interesting read... he seems to have held a very privileged position for a JW for a very long time. His brother is VP on another arm of the org. Apparently he likes to just zoom in and out about 5 times a year to the HQ. I'd love to know the size of his house and other details about his family connections but there's not much info at all online about him.

So how do we start a Scholorship for JW and EXJW Students?
by Luther bertrand init is my contention that jw children are intellectually abused by being brainwashed to not have the choice of pursuing higher education.
so, how do we help these victims?
would a jw/exjw offer some help?
-

While it's a lovely idea Luther, I would think it would make more sense to attack the anti-education policy of the org. We need a cure not a medicine for just the symptom. Maybe you can look into charities that are already working in this field and get some advice from them. Maybe a complaint to the child protection services or a petition? There's more accomplished by making the community aware of what it means to be a JW child. Or maybe you can look into government funding for some kind of foundation charity to help these kids? -

Damned If You Do, Damned If You Don't: Religious Shunning and the free exercise clause
by defender of truth inthe following link is to a pdf file found on the penn law legal scholarship repository website.. " the penn law legal scholarship repository is the institutional repository of the university of pennsylvania law school.

Thank you defender, it made good reading.
Seems to me the way forward is to do a multi-religion e-petition to the government. There's a number of religions practicing shunning and with the use of Youtube, it's easy to unite... so why aren't we making use of the e-petitions to change the law in our governments?
Am I being naive? I know Cedars has this EU shunning petition going with some friends of his... what's happening in the US? I saw a thread from 4 years ago but 16 pages is a lot to read. Any update on that?
