  Guilt trip

  did anyone have other jws try to guilt trip them when they were leaving or if you were making a decision which jws felt was wrong but wasn't unscriptural?

  i'm getting people guilt tripping me to eventually get back with my emotionally, spiritually and mentally abusive husband who i'm separated from.

  i feel sick at the thought of getting back together and putting myself through that nightmare again but i'm being told its what jehovah wants coz he doesn't want families to be apart.

  I've had "what kind of example are you setting your daughter with regards to the truth and with regards to Jehovah's stance on marriage?" I obviously can't tell the person I'm leaving as im trying to fade. It still pricks at the conscience though and its annoying lol

  My way of thinking will probably take some time to untune from jw mindset. Once I'm completely faded hopefully i won't feel guilty about not being able stay married to such a person

I can't imagine that a loving God would want that if someone was so unhappy that they felt life was unbearable

  Have you tried 607bce chat with her. If you type it in a normal search engine every history website I looked at said Jerusalem was destroyed in 586/7 bce. This totally throws their date of 1914 out of the window and if more people knew about it they'd be flocking out of the religion because 1914 is what one of their main teachings is based on. Jwfacts has good information on it

  Manmade rules

  i was talking to someone a few years ago and he said in his congregation they have a rail of white shirts prepared in the cloakroom for if a speaker doesn't have a white shirt on.

  it was a rule in their hall that all brothers in the platform must wear white shirts when going talks and if the speaker won't comply when asked to change into the shirt they provide an elder in the congregation will do the talk instead.

  i have never known any other halls do it so it must be a rule the elders have made up without gb input.

  mine was seeing a greenhouse with mannequins inside.

  When I was about 23 me and another sister who was about 20 knocked on a door and a man answered but only popped his head around the Door coz he was naked, don't think he realised we could see him in the full length mirror at the end of the hallway. We went red and rushed through the presentation and when he shut the door were were doubled over laughing and then told the others working with us in the street and they were doubled over laughing too

  i'm so upset and angry at the same time.

  i move in less than 2 weeks and was supposed to be getting help off "brothers" to move and one of them was driving the van and now the elders have had a meeting and told the brothers they can't help coz i'm separated from my (abusive) jw husband and with moving it puts the chances of reconciliation (of which there was zero chance) even further away.

  where are these stupid rules that they come up with.

  I've learned that first hand. I'd never do to someone what they've so lovingly done to me and I can't imagine most non jws would do it either

  Wake me up - it'll take me a long time to unconditional my brain from this religion never mind moving onto another one lol. Jws go on about how much you can trust your brothers and not those in the world, to make your yes mean yes no matter how difficult a situation you're put in to carry it out and you help and love your brother and neighbour.... they speak a load of ****!!

  Vanderhoven7 - I've just emailed the local Baptist church up there to see if I can attend the toddler groups to make friends. Think the reverend or whoever it is would be disgusted if i told my story of how I've been treated by jws and how hurt i am
