pimo , as i said i`m going out on a limb here and i might upset some people ,but i really don`t think this is a real strategy that works and doesn`t help the person who is still in.. while you may be doing this to keep the peace in the household and keep relations somewhat stable in the family arrangement ,it`s not helping the person who is still under the control of wt/gb to break free from it ,and isn`t that what you would really like to happen ?.

and are their children involved as well ?

that`s another issue ,the longer they are subject to this control the harder it will be for them to disengage get free.. maybe you should re-evaluate what you could do more to help your partner / spouse or whatever to free themselves from this bondage they have involved themselves in.. [ of course their may be others who are quite happy to have their partners/mates under the control of the wt/gb.

I have faced this dilemma recently. Not as a family but on my own, so no children involved. Some years back I decided that many of the JW's teachings did not add up, so I pretty much left the congregation. About a couple months back I attended a Sunday meeting and many of my friends greeted me thinking I was still a JW I believe. However, I had relayed to a close friend that I did not believe in the FDS anymore so could not return as a JW.

During the watchtower study I raised my hand in order to give a comment stating my name and that I was attending as a visitor. I noticed thereafter; the conductor refused to call upon me in order to comment. Will they allow me to visit on occasion without taking steps to gain me back or considering me to be an apostate? In order to find out, I feel the need to contact the elders in order to explain my circumstances. I will then know what to do.

Who really is the Faithful and Discreet Slave?

I agree with Biahi. The way to prove it is by first examining the scripture in order to understand the meaning of the slave.

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

First, it seems this servant (singular) is one person and not a group of people the JW's identify as the faithful and discreet slave "class". And Jesus will appoint this slave as ruler over his household. Does this mean Jesus will appoint the slave as king upon the earth over the congregation?

Bible prophecy relates to leaders and world events. A fulfillment of prophecy is usually a major event and historical. Otherwise, we would not be able to identify them. Which events are historical in our time?

911, which led to the longest war in the Middle East: "And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

The many floods across the planet along with global warming: "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be".

“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Yes, the 911 event is described in chapter 13 of the book of Revelation with United States being the Beast. And the mass flooding across the planet where the powers of the heavens (atmosphere) will be shaken along with the roaring of the sea.

Fulfillment of prophecy is happening before our eyes. We just need to recognize them.

I have never met any of the members of the governing body, supposably of the anointed class, so I have nothing bad to say about them. One of the main teachings of the JW's is the faithful and discreet slave. I do not believe this to be true whatsoever. It is one of the main reasons I left the organization.

Has the fulfillment of Babylon the Great prophecy taken place, or are we to expect a greater world economic collapse? I am looking for answers to the meaning of Babylon the Great. Any thoughts on the matter aside from Empire of False Religion? I believe that Babylon the Great has fallen, but the finality of its doom will be when Christ arrives in The Kingdom of God in all of his glory.

I agree peacefulpete. Here are some examples of famous "cult" leaders falling under the category of dangerous:

I myself have never seen a single scripture proving there are 144,000 anointed Christians. In fact, I have never even seen a single scripture proving there is a faithful and discreet "class", aside from the slave being only "one" person.

The Watchtower Society use the "Anointed" doctrine in order to maintain their authority over the congregations. This holds true for many religions claiming to be of a "special" group. This is so they can sway people to contribute their monies to their organization.

As far as the JW's being a cult. This could be said to relate to every belief in existence according to the definition. However, a cult, I believe. is one that strays away from that of common practice in a normal society.

"You have to believe that Jehovah`s Witnesses are the only true Christian religion" If you don't believe that JWs are the only true Religion, then you need to go to the one you believe is the only true religion." You can read their literature, but they won't read yours." Not true. I won't take another's, but I'll sit down and we will discuss it. "They try to separate you from the real world." Taylor Swift and Oprah do that.

This is one "fact" that cannot be disputed: There is no such thing as "One" True religion. Every sect has their own "understanding". Who's to say one is the correct one over the other? It is true that some beliefs are easily dispelled based upon what is written in the bible.

This is one aspect of any religion or belief. All humans will not be judged upon what we might truly believe to be true. We will all be judged according to our "deeds", or how we conduct ourselves in our everyday lives. Afterall, there are those that might be swayed by another religion considered to be led by false prophets. As it is written, even God's own people will be misled by false prophets. It is the intent of the heart that matters.

I followed the teachings of the JW's for many years, and still believe in most of their teachings. It was around the year 2003 that caused me to leave the organization after discovering some teachings to be untrue. I now rely upon my own understanding and do not consider myself to be a part of any organized religious group.
