About 40 years ago I was in a car group of sisters with my mother on a cold wintery day. A couple had just returned from a house and we were ready to drive to the next house when someone noticed this man in a bathrobe coming toward the car whom they just preached to. Excited they thought he had a change of heart.They were wrong, he gave them a good service talk on how my life was being ruined, I was 4 or 5 then.He said I should be home enjoying life as a kid & playing in the snow.I silently agreed with him.All the women said ,"he wants to be here". I think Christ was around 30 when he first went out.

larc, i got my fear from borrowing $ & losing my shirt there.I'm inactive.
neyank, that's an interesting point of lottery tickets and gambling.I believe if one trades options or Futures, that for every winner there's a loser.
So if one makes a killing one day playing options and you make let's say $1975.00 and give it to Watchtower Society and inform them somedude out there lost this money, but do to good timing you got it and are now giving it to them, Do you think they'd cash the check?

Them hallowed hallways are somethin aren't they? My favorite at Patterson is the one entitled "Our Prophecies" 1874,1914,1925,1975. with "False" under the years. On the other side of the hall is the word "True" and its blank.
My cousin was married by Bro.Knorr;about a decade later she died of breast cancer.

Obsessive Doubting was me, I was constantly fighting the brainwashing i was subjected to.
d) Management:Cognitive behavioral therapy is the psychotherapy of choice for obsessive-compulsive disorder. It involves exposing the patient to the anxiety-provoking thought and response prevention with homework assignments and education regarding the illness.etc
Can you imagine shrinks giving JW clients homework assignments dealing with their history, false prophesies, etc.
The "faithful and Discreet slave of JW's is neither faithful nor discreet.The mental garbage they pushed on their members is disgusting.

Respond with love,kindness,and graciousness. Keep religion out of it, your mom doesn't have an open mind at this time.
Most important your children can use her unconditional love, if any exists.

Interesting they omit what kind of abuse she suffered, was it emotional,mental,physical,or sexual?
What kind of therapy did the elders give her? They just might put
shrinks out of business.Is she healed or does she have personality disorders yet.

I was at the annual meeting in 1978 at the Assembly Hall Buckingham,Pa. Ray Franz was the only GB to apologize over the 1975 cruel joke.He seemed like a humble guy to me.
At Bethel I'd miss breakfast every so often,Ray was the only guy I hated to miss,as I knew I was going to learn something from him. The rest could read from the Wt. so well.Edited by - Tanalyst on 11 March 2001 5:10:17

Life was pure miserable. Not allowed to do anything unless Watchtower Bible & Tract Society was stamped on it. So that wiped everything out except door-to door work.Sometimes I would sneak into the laundry room and watch the washer & dryer go round & round.This was back in the 60's & 70's. No sports,clubs, in school.I wish that life on no one.
