  Kingdom Hall ... BURGER KING?

  i live in a very rural part of the northeastern united states.

  after 9 years of waiting, the local witnesses are getting their new kingdom hall.

  it is being built on a back road next to a sandpit.

  Good Works by "worldly people".

  i have friends who are called "worldly people" by jws.

  these people are actively involved in feeding the homeless over christmas.

  managing thrift shops so they can send financial aid overseas to poorer children.

  Jehovah`s Witnesses and the JW Religious organization are in the main parasites on society bleeding what they can out of the world and giving/contributing nothing back into it

  .And I was guilty of that as much as any other JW in my 33 years as a JW.

  They have all the excuses in the world that one can think of to not support this or that charity / humanitarian relief fund/ disaster fund or anything else that the world asks for to alleviate human suffering of one sort or another.

  What do they offer ? a scripture or two or three and then in a sense say "Go in peace" offering no practical help or assistance.

  hi i've been a jw for 12 years and got married 2 years ago.

  i'm now separated.

  my husband hid from me that he suffered from depression, extreme anxiety issues and a personality disorder.

  Jrjw Welcome to this site ,many people here can give you good advice without judging you in any way ,keep asking questions here whatever they are and you wont be judged or hauled into a room for a Judicial Committee meeting as you would more likely be told to front at a Kingdom Hall.

  New Light

  The WT/GB today change a doctrine based on scripture and call it New Light contradicting C.T.Russell`s use of "New Light"

  Can't believe we are still here

  just this week i had the jws knock on my door.

  sisters from my old congregation.

  we exchanged the usual polite conversation.

  During our chat one of the sisters pipes up and says "I can't believe we are still here. We were not meant to go to high school, get married or have children this side of Armageddon.". This sister is now a grandmother.

  I know it`s easy for me to say now,however looking back in hindsight I would like to think I would have made a comment such as

  "Well doesnt`t that tell you ,what you have been taught and believed all these years is not true, that you are being misled by your religion ? "

  I know that`s easy for me to say now however when someone knocks on your door you are usually taken way off gaurd

  What she said is so true though isn`t it something we can all relate to.

  Welcome Amypk80 ,I`m surprised no one has responded to your post yet.

  I find it hard to believe their are no cases of child sexual abuse in NZ among JW`s ever.

  This is a good place to vent and be informed without any repercussions for saying your piece

  Professions in the Paradise

  "You will build houses and inhabit them " Isa.65:21

  Their is no way my wife would stay in a house I built and I can`t blame her ,I`m completely useless as a handy man and she knows it.and so do I.

  I don`t have a green thumb ,so I would also be useless providing food in the vegetable garden too.

  I have no patience for fishing and I just hate the thought of spending hours for an empty catch.Would fishing even be allowed in the New System ? Eating one of Jehovahs creations in the new system ?

  Apparently you wont be able to hunt animals for food in the New System either.Their is a scripture there somewhere. isn`t their ?

  Would Jehovah still require a human sacrifice as he has done these past decades condoning his chosen people JW.ORG refusing blood transfusions ? while hypocritically accepting Blood fractions donated by worldly people donating their blood to blood banks that are then processed in a laboratory into fractions ,blood that is not poured out on the ground and should not be used for any purpose according to the Bible as claimed by Jehovah`s Witnesses.

  Common Figure of Speech/Colloquialism?

  1. the messiah said that three nights would be involved with his time in the "heart of the earth".. 2. there are some who believe that the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with the resurrection taking place on the 1st day of the week.. 3. of those, there are some who believe that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb.. 4. however, those two beliefs allow for only 2 nights to be involved.. 5. to account for the discrepancy, some of the above say that the messiah was using common figure of speech/colloquial language of the time, i.e., that it is was common to forecast or say that a day or a night would be involved with an event when no part of the day or no part of the night could occur.. 6. in order for someone to legitimately say that it was common, they would have to know of more that 1 example to make that assertion.. 6. for the purpose of this topic, i would like to ask if there are any 6th day of the week crucifixion advocates who think the messiah was employing common figure of speech/colloquial language of the period?.

  The Seven Trumpets

  is it still watchtower dogma that the seven trumpets of revelation refer to seven conventions in the 1920s?

  would many jws these days even be aware of this?

  i find it so amusing that seven little conventions in the distant past, almost a century ago, could be equated with such an iconic biblical passage.
