  greetings, earth-bound friends:.

  i guess at this point in life, given what we all now know, we no longer harbor any delusions of grandeur.

  my temporary insanity, which i've written about on other threads, was that assurance of being in heaven with jehovah and jesus and the other 143,999 kings and priests.

  humbled , I know I`m still trying to get my head around CoCo being one of the anointed do they allow red beards in heaven ?

  "O when we believed with all our hearts... what hopes we had.."

  So very true ,so many of us believed with all our hearts that this was the "TRUTH " only to find out otherwise after spending many years 5,10,20,30,40,50,years or more and then realize the fact that we have all been had big time.

  I think many still in are only in their because of pride not willing to accept they have been conned/duped into believing something they no longer believe and to save face or ridicule they stay their when they should be honest with themselves and get of her.

  That the JW religion is nothing more than an another American made up religion no better than the S.D.A.`s , the Mormons ., the Christadelphians ,the Christian Scientists ,A.S.G.or any other of the 40,000 christian sects of Christendom

  My main question would be :

  If their is / was an Almighty GOD why couldn`t / wouldn` t he preserve the original texts ? After all it is supposedly his word , you would think he would want to preserve it as was accurately portrayed wouldn`t you ?

  And not leave it up to imperfect humans who have their own agenda for making their own pet views known.

  Ancient Jewish worshipers no doubt had their pet beliefs and being imperfect humans like the rest of us could quite easily modify /manipulate writings to suit their agenda.

  Scribes were only imperfect human beings that had their own beliefs and bias `s

  It`s no stretch of the imagination that they could influence what we accept today as the Word Of God

  LOL CoCo I didn`t think of you as one of the Anointed though you do have a beard and that qualifies you now as does any female anointed .

  I wasn`t aware of your heart attack back then or I don`t think I was my memory is not so good now LOL

  And I`m bloody sure if you were sitting at the right hand of JC we wouldn`t be getting the crap that is coming out of JW.org now.

  I believe you would contribute something more poetic , artistic and up building, encouraging people more to express themselves and thrive on their individualism and creativity

  My wife and I just had a wonderful experience today.

  my wife was looking through some old diary`s that we have lying around and found a ph.# of an old friend (jw) that we knew over 15 years ago .we were always curious as to what has happened to her as she was a dear friend for many years when we were in the "truth".

  so she rings the number (,do you still have the same # that you had 15 yrs ago ?

  ) and this friend was a bit of a "gypsy" type so she wasn`t expecting much when she rang.. to cut a long story short we all had a good conversation we had been trying to find out about her all these years with no success and she was also trying to find out about us all these years with no success ,we had moved interstate.. nothing was said about religion though i suspect she is still associated with the borg.

  just an update on this post.

  my wife has had a couple of phone calls with our friend in question since the initial contact and she has informed her that she no longer pioneers or even attends so many meetings nowadays as she put it :

  "you don`t get any encouragement their anymore "

  One thing she said also that I will have to find out a bit more about as time goes on is this.

  XXXX One of her sons (she has two ) hasn`t spoken to her in 10 years and i`m not sure whether he is still a JW or not ,though I think he is because the girl he married and her family are (or were ) well into it .

  Remember we have been out for over 25 years

  So I will tread carefully getting the info about that situation.

  In our few discussions either over the phone or pc she has not tried to engage in any religious discussion and neither have we.

  She just seems very happy to have made contact with us again after so many years and my wife and I feel the same way.

  Will keep you posted on how things pan out.

  i live in the sierra nevada foothills of california; a selling point for prospective homeowners in the slightly lower elevation is what is touted in the subject title.

  well, right now we are being blasted by a storm barreling down from canada, with hazardous driving and blizzard conditions in the offing, higher up.. as to fog, this photo offers a rare display of misty conditions over our lake, that after the last major rain storm.

  it reminds me of summer days of my youth on the pacific coast..

  i remember reading once about some young pioneer sisters who needed emergency accommodation and where turn away from brooklyn because they weren’t special pioneers.

  What`s that scripture that if you see your bro/sis in dire straights but you don` t help them in any way and just say words to the effect go in peace ?

  Charity and Jehovah`s Witnesses are not two statements that go together .

  Jehovah`s Witnesses have never and will never be charitable to the world and why would they ?

  They believe the world lies in the power of the wicked one Satan the Devil so if they support the world in any way they are supporting Satan the Devil .

  He has also been accused of knowing about Catholic priests abusing children and moving the Priests around different Diocese to avoid detection .

  Is he an untouchable ? because of his position in the Vatican ? because of Catholic politicians in the Australian Parliament ?

  You have to wonder .
