Thanks Simon I will have to read the book "The Algiers Motel Incident" and according to the link you posted the movie while taking poetic license in some areas was largely accurate on the whole and the book could clear up those points.

Detroit the movie on Netflix anybody seen it ?
by smiddy3 ina movie about the riots in the seventies in the city of detroit but especially with the reason for the riots and the attitude of police and how the nation treated people of colour.
and how they treated them and how the justice system failed them .. based on a true story.
i found it very confronting yet compelling to watch.. humans have a tendency to lump everybody together in the same basket ,however we are not all the same, their is good and bad in every race and culture whether they are black, white or brindle .. anybody seen it and like to comment ?.

Need blood? Save your life, here's why.
by LevelThePlayingField inso here's the point regarding blood transfusions.
notice jesus asks the pharisees if it was lawful on the sabbath to save a life.
so, can you break god's law to save your life if it came to that?

Seven Seconds
by RolRod inso i just finished watching the netflix series "seven seconds", about a police cover up of a black teenager killed by a police officer in a hit and run.
it was filmed in jersey city, nj at the end of the last episode as the camera panned the area, they showed the jersey city assembly hall.
i actually helped restore that building and helped in building the addition..

Are you better off as a worldly person or a JW?
by Jules Saturn ini was having a conversation with a relative who has been inactive for several decades (part of the ‘75 generation) and he argued that a person that is a born in is better off staying in the organization rather than someone like him who lived as a “worldly” person but then became a witness later in life.
he argues that when you’re born in, all you know nothing outside of the organization, so you’re better off in than out, that’s why when born ins leave the org, they always come back.
i agree that as a born in, your social circle is composed of witnesses but i do feel that even born ins would be happier outside of the org than being in.

How could you be better off being/remaining a JW ?
It`s a cult religion for Christ`s sake .Full of false promises,failed predictions,deaths of many members following human instructions.of the GB members on a number of issues ,Blood,Malawi.Conscientious Objection in the Military,Medical procedures ,{ Organ Transplants ,Inoculation`s }
And in many cases having dual policy`s on these issues depending in which country you lived in Malawi/Mexico for an example.
Condemning the United Nations on one hand and Joining them as an NGO for 10 years on the other hand.
Charles Taze Russell the founder of the IBSA/JW on the one hand saying they would never beg for money and the Governing Body of the religion today continually begging for money.
Of course I`m better off DA myself from this sham of a religion.

How to "turn the tables" on still-in witness who pry about our status.
by stuckinarut2 inso many of us have had (perhaps well-meaning) jws ask us questions about our inactivity, or lack of attendance at meetings.
they may pry about why..... how is this for a simple, yet straight to the point response?
to a sincere person, it may play on their mind and make them ask more questions.

JWs ask us questions about our inactivity, or lack of attendance at meetings.
Maybe just maybe, when The religion apologizes for leading their members up the garden path with "truth`s" that turned out to be falsehoods because "New light " always followed old "truth`s" that never materialized .Think about that.

Life during the 1,000 reign???
by Joliette inme and my brother recently got into a discussion about the 1,000 reign.
i told him that even after armageddon, you know that you still have to work for your salvation??
he says yes, that he is prepared to work for jehovah (wth), and that it will be a wonderful time.

If you remain ''loyal'', you will live forever. If you are tempted and fail with your loyalty, you will get the '' second death'' (eternal).
So that means Lazarus and others who have been resurrected in the Bible and died again are "Kapoot"
Also with the relatively few (JW`s only) who are going to survive the big "A" will spend the next 1000 years burying 8+ Billion dead men`s bones ,not to mention demolishing concrete and steal skyscrapers ,bitumen roads, and all the technological industry`s that JW`s rely on in today`s world. And if by any chance JW`s don`t think these are going to be done away with ,then how will the paradise earth be any different to what we enjoy now as their has to be someone to run and maintain all these mod cons we enjoy today. And the Scriptures do plainly state that after the thousand years have ended when Satan is let out of prison those that follow him will be as numerous as the sands of the sea-shore ,he will mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth .Rev.20:7-9So things are not going to be Honkey- Dorey during the 1000 year reign as JW`s expect.Hasn`t Jesus already used up 100 years of that reign ? What`s he achieved so far ?He better take his finger out ,only 900 more years to go. -

there are hints that it is well down, but is it ?

Maybe it`s because the Rapture has already started and Jehovah/Jesus has begun taking some of the Anointed to heaven already.
Yea of little faith !
It could be a gradual thing that`s going to go on for years .
