Lost in Space -Netflix- No spoilers.
by smiddy3 ini have just finished watching the first series 10 episodes and at first i was just a little bit curious and not to sure about it however it certainly grew on me .. it deviates from the old tv series and has a slightly more darker side to it as well as being a bit more modern with life situations judy being coloured and adopted ,and john and maureen a couple with issues and the robot is just out of this world .lets not forget dr.smith as a female and more sinister than her counterpart of the tv series.. i would rate it 8.5 out of 10 .
and look forward to the next series and hope that their is one because i definitely think it has a future .. anybody else seen it ?

My JW Elder Brother Passed Away
by minimus inhe was basically a good man, just a believer in the religion.
when we were both elders we were best of friends and then things deteriorated when i was not an elder for a while.
then after becoming an elder again, i slowly drifted away from the religion and he drifted further away from me.

Daniel 10:13 and 20 speak of demons governing their respective nations?
by I_love_Jeff interritorial spirits-.
daniel 10:13,20 prince of persia.
deut: 32:9 “when the most high divided the nations, when he separated the sons of adam, he set the bounds of the nations according to the number of the angels of god.

However "the existing Authorities stand placed in their relative positions by GOD" {Jehovah }..".he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of GOD"..".and will receive a judgement to themselves" ...".it is GODS minister an avenger to express wrath upon the one practicing what is bad"
Rom.13: 1-7
Doesn`t that contradict Satan being the ruler of the world ?
I`m going by what the scriptures actually state and not what somebody interprets such and such a scripture is supposed to mean .

Shunning: Reasoning With JW's
by The Fall Guy inperhaps this line of questioning could agitate a jw's thinking.
it can't hurt.. you: is shunning a biblical teaching?.
jw: yes.. you: so it must be god's law?.

Does Jehovah need any protection?
by I_love_Jeff indoes jehovah need to be protected by a zealous scribe***** (masoretic text) or anyone else?
deuteronomy 32:8 is a textbook example of how later scribes sometimes changed the biblical text in a misguided attempt to “protect” god’s reputation.
deut 32:8, eliminates references to other divine beings (32:8, “sons of god”; 32:43, “heavenly ones” and “gods”).

To me these changes were made to get to the idea of a monotheist belief. Only one god. Elohim means gods plural and I believe the original texts says Elohim not Angels or sons of Israel.
Genesis Ch.3 : 22 ...."here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad "
The fact that God said the man has become like one of us is telling.?
God is actually saying he has peers ,beings the same as he is , God`s.the same as he is.
And Adam having that Knowledge now of good and bad put him on the same level in that sense of the Gods that then existed at that time.
Not that he had the power of God but that he had the intellectual ability of knowing Good and bad right and wrong ,evil and good.

Are there close parallels between Deuteronomy 32:8, Genesis 10 and the Ugaritic tablets?
by I_love_Jeff inaccording to these sources (city of ancient ugaritic tablets found in 1928) , elyon divided up all the nations into seventy nations, one for each of his sons (elim) .
sons of god makes the most sense than the sons of israel-deut.
32:8 especially since there was no nation of israel listed in the table of nations.

Leolaia had some interesting thoughts on the Ugaritic tablets she made 14 years ago in two posts if anyone`s interested , not to undermine your post I-Love_Jeff ,but to enhance it and elaborate on your post,
Especially for the many newbies that have joined this forum in recent years who are interested in the so many other writings ,texts ,that existed even before and after the books of the Bible were penned.
