who has been out the longest?
by stan livedeath inwho has been out of the cult the longest ?.
i'll start--i resigned in 1971, but attended occasionally as a non-interested husband to keep the wife sweet, untill my last circuit assembly in autumn 1980. no connection with the cult since then.
so--its either 47 or 38 years, depending on how you see it.. which begs the question--why am i on this site now ?.

Do you want to play with bears? You are now qualified for baptism!
by neat blue dog inat today's wt study about child baptism, someone commented and she pointed to the picture of the little girl playing with her teddy bear.
she said, 'she may be looking at her bear and thinking about getting to play with bears in the new system.
her parents notice this, and they decide since it's real to her she may be ready for baptism.

Manipulating children to become baptised without comprehending the consequences of such an action should they have second thoughts later on is Child Abuse .
And they the J.W`s religion should be held accountable for it and so should the parents if they support this action against the child in being shunned and ostracized by all the baptised members of a congregation.

The Governing Body of Jehovah`s Witnesses are ethically wrong as they are morally wrong in their manipulating of the rank and file of their fellow rank and file members of Jehovah`s Witnesses to follow their direction and obey such direction without question .{ Even to the point of their members not understanding or agreeing with the direction given} Yet they are told to obey and not question the Governing Body`s decision .
And the fact that they can be ostracized /shunned for disobeying such directions should make them culpable of being guilty of coercion

Trump mentality = Watchtower mentality
by doubtfull1799 inthe fake news is working overtime.
just reported that, despite the tremendous success we are having with the economy & all things else, 91% of the network news about me is negative (fake).
why do we work so hard in working with the media when it is corrupt?

I watched the video of Aaron Cochran and I agree with Diogenesister assesment of the situation.
What I would call fringe dwellers of the religion other family members fully in but they are neither in or out yet highly influenced by the religion where it suits them. They are vulnerable people and also victims of the cult.
Maybe the Grandfather thought the situation was hopeless and that if they died before Armageddon they would be assured of a resurrection.
Thinking like a true Jehovah`s Witness.
I also agree with Steve .

Some people shouldn't be interviewed or "allowed" to speak so soon after a tragedy.
People in shock can say the damndest things.

I was a little surprised / disturbed when I learned that the J.W. religion had segregated congregation meetings of Blacks and whites back in the day.
But then again why should I have been surprised , didn`t they have a publication in the early days about black people `s skin turning white ?

Other Religions use the Name JEHOVAH too
by UnDisfellowshipped inare jehovah's witnesses really the only religion that promotes and preaches the name of jehovah?.
jw's are always claiming that they are the only religion that preaches and uses the name jehovah, and that is why only they will be saved.
for example, look at this quote from the watchtower:.

I suggest you look at the Greek Text in the "Kingdom Interlinear of The Christian Greek Scriptures" published by the WTB&TS and you won`t find the name Jehovah anywhere in it .
Nor will you find the Tetragrammaton or any equivalent letters in Greek referring to that name anywhere in that publication.
Jesus Christ ,the Apostles nor any of Jesus Disciples ever used the name Jehovah or any such personal name of God in the New Testament.
It just isnt in their.
