Only one real point per WT study...
by JW_Rogue inhas anyone else noticed that in the wt study articles the main point they want you to remember is always somewhere around paragraph 11-14?
it's like a formula.
intro and overview paragraphs 1-4. basic wt stuff 5-8 (not controversial).

What about displaying the Tetragrammaton as a sculpture or symbol in a Kingdom hall that many have is that not a form of Idolatry ?

My failed attempts to help my brainwashed family
by Addison0998 infirst of all i just want to say a quick thank you to all of you who’s been listening to my story and my little rants and dilemmas lol.
this website has helped me so much to not feel alone and to keep me from feeling like i’m going crazy.
anyways, i’m defenitly going to try much harder from this point on to play the part until i move out after this summer.

He had no response, but still defended the way we did things and said the Catholics are much worse.
I`m not so sure that the Catholics are worse when you consider their are well over 1 Billion Catholics in the world and only 8 Million Jehovah`s Witnesses .
It would interesting to compare the ratio of Child sexual abuse cases within the two religions .
My gut feeling is that the Jehovah`s Witnesses would not fare well .
However I`m not qualified to do such a comparison.

How to deal with struggling with the doctrines

i'm still a jw but am inactive.
im struggling with the fact that i agree with some of the doctrines (i,e, the stance on the trinity, there is no hell) but i disagree with a lot of things (i,e, men can't have beards, women have to wear skirts).

The Uniting Church has today joined the National Redress Scheme for victims of Institutional child sexual Abuse.
by smiddy3 inthe only state or territory yet to sign up is western australia .. and so far the jehovah`s witness religion has not joined the scheme.
{ and i will be very surprised if they ever do }.
however if they don`t they will have to fight any case that is brought against them in a court of law and that in itself will be bad publicity for them .. so i am hoping they don`t join the redress scheme ..

JW elders told abused girl’s parents not to report sex offender (another one)

a bradford man's sex offence against a little girl was kept quiet for 23 years because elders of the jehovah's witnesses church persuaded her parents not to report him, a court was told.. robert lee's crime in the forest of dean was not revealed until the victim had grown up and went to the police, gloucester crown court heard on friday.. .
both the victim's family and lee were jehovah's witnesses at that time, said prosecutor kerry barker.. he told the court that having avoided justice, lee, formerly of coleford, but now of alexandra road, bradford, went on to commit further child sex offences in 2008 and 2016.. lee, who used the surname howarth at that time, admitted indecent assault of the girl in march 1995 in coleford when he was aged just 17.. sentencing lee to two years jail suspended for two years and ordering him to sign the sex offender register for 10 years judge ian lawrie qc said he was 'concerned' at the church's advice to the mother not to report him.. he also placed lee under a 10 year sexual harm prevention order.. “i've raised concerns about how this came to the attention of your church authorities and was not reported.

I`m sorry Diogenesister if your missing the point i am making Watchtower are responsible secondary in this situation.
The Elders in question should be held accountable for their inaction to report such sexual abuse of children when they should have morally and ethically and legally done so .
And they did not .
Yet none of them have ever been charged or held accountable as far as I know anywhere in the world .
And i think that is unacceptable .
But what can we do ?

When is the legal system of any Country going to hold the Elders of the Jehovah`s Witnesses religion accountable for not reporting the crime of Child sexual Abuse when it is first brought to their attention ?
Correct me if I am wrong ,as far as I know no Country has ever done so .
My question then is why not ?
Their are countless accounts all around the world of child sexual Abuse cases handled by three Elders of Jehovah`s Witnesses in house by their judicial committee and NO elder ( to my knowledge) has ever reported this crime to the apropiate authorities either the Police or child protection Authorities .....Never !
Why is this so ? ,maybe we should be asking our politicians and the media why no Jehovah`s Witness Elder has never been charged with not reporting a sexual crime against a child a minor ? When it has been brought to their attention ?
Their must multiple charges that could be laid surely ?
I think in this regard the Jehovah`s Witnesses are just as guilty or maybe even more considering the ratio of Jehovah`s Witnesses to Catholics .
More than 1 Billion Catholics and just over 8 Million Jehovah`s Witnesses .
so than the Catholic religion yet they seem to remain unscathed and the brunt is falling on the catholic religion .
