New Textbook For Elders

i have to say that i found item 3 on the above page raised questions in my mind.

if an elder is deleted presumably for wrongdoing the hard copy text book is taken off him and destroyed.

but who ensures that any electronic copies of the book in his possession are deleted?

And what if the Elder refuses to hand over his copy for whatever reason ? maybe because he has seen TTATT ?

What are they going to do about it ?

Halls closing

in my city philadelphia they closed many kingdom halls.

my hall was desolved and most of the publishers were added to a congregation that only had 50 publishers.

This closing of KH`s in one place after another that`s going on all around the world sounds like very GOOD NEWS to me .

some time ago i created a study that i named: "the devil who tested jesus".. i have rewritten it into a form that might possibly make it attractive for a publication (please do not read wts into that).

I always appreciate your contributions to this forum Doug giving it a Jewish perspective ,after all the Bible IS really a set of Jewish books isnt it and not a Christian set of books.

Remember 1992?

i can remember i was in the cult.

times were changing at a rapid pace.

It was round about 1993 when I decided I had had enough ,they are no more inspired than the Mormons or the SDA`s or anybody else.

And that`s the year I agreed that the JW`s did in fact get one thing and only one thing right and that was :

"Religion is a snare and a racket"

Another quote i agree with is :

"Religion is the Opium of the people " from a commie.

many witnesses in my opinion know nothing about the religion.

they don’t understand the history, the doctrines or the bible.

many people become jws because they were raised as witnesses so they take the plunge.

Am I the only idiot here that converted when I was about 20 years old ? True at that time I was in a vulnerable state and a co-worker shared some scriptures with me and gave me some literature .

I had always been curious about the Bible and its message brought up believing it was the word of GOD.

But not actually being born into a religious family.

And as the saying goes curiosity killed the cat

It took me 33 years to see the light and wake up.

My Bible Study Conductor's Letter to Me

recently, i wrote a sister, my bible study conductor, an email just telling her that i thought of her, and i thanked her for being a part of some milestones in my life many many years ago.

(for those who are reading my post for the first time, i was a very impressionable teenager at that time and i had the chance to live in their country for a while, spent much time with her, got to know her way of living, and essentially she became my life's mentor.

closer to me than family.

Her friendship with you is conditional ,you remain a JW or she doesn`t want to know you .

That should be all you need to know .

You are a much better person because you could be still friends with her knowing she is a JW however she can`t be friends anymore with you because you are no longer a JW .

Emotional blackmail

Controlling

manipulative

Your better off putting it down to one of life`s experiences and moving on with your own life..

Waking up can be a scary time

as a person that has recently come to terms with the reality that the truth is not really the truth .

does anyone else remember the feeling when they realized things were just not true.

it’s wierd all the years i spent preaching i never really considered what it must have felt like to have two people at your door trying to convince you that your religion of birth was a lie.

Now that I have come to grips with this reality frankly it’s a punch in the gut. Part of me is feeling how stupid could I have been all these years. Part of me is ashamed and feel like I need to make amends for the damage I may have done.

I can relate to those sentiments as I feel much the same way and partly that is why I am here hoping that my contributions can help wake up a lurker or help heal a newbie in some way.

And i have been out since around 1993.

there are many good people here who know a lot about everything .

Welcome and take care ,as they say time heals everything sooner or later .

if the watchtower think that these are the end times why dont they employ all the people who used to work at bethel to go door to door or go on the cart full time.after all money is no good in paradise .

pepperheart , you have missed the point my friend ,the Watchtower /GB / WTB&TS do not employ anybody at all .

All of Jehovah`s Witnesses from the Governing body members down to the rank & file member /publisher is no more than a volunteer .

Certain members depending on where or how they serve in the organization may earn a stipend however that in no way should imply that they are employees of the said organization .

They are only volunteers. and as such not employees ,legally

And the WTB&TS /JW`s are not employers ,legally.

But that`s how cult religions operate .

And they get away with it legally .
