The Roman Catholic Church is a significant religion of Christianity as the Pope the Vicar of Christ on Earth.
With well over 1 billion members world wide. Everybody in the world is aware of who the current Pope is and he is recognized and accepted by Politicians and leaders of many if not all Countries in the world.
And they have a strong power base for change with there vote in any given country
Nothing of the sort can be said of any or even all collectively of the GB members of the religion of Jehovah`s Witnesses who are just a small sect with only 8 million + members with no political connections and virtually no recognition by anyone except there own members . And they do not have any influence at the polls because they do not vote.
No Government leader or head of State would have any idea nor would they care to know who the Governing Body members are of Jehovah`s witnesses ,they are an insignificant small sect of Christianity.
And at least pope Francis has made a statement however belated is willing to make a needed change.
Even though it may only be a token change at present at least he is moving in the right direction.

Is this how you saw your Armageddon? I sure did :(
by Diogenesister ini think most of our imaginations of the new world was probably nothing like the watchtower reality.
after all, we jws are very good at avoiding uncomfortable truths!
you can tell micheal jackson was a certain type of jehovahs witness.

I naively just accepted what and how the WT depicted it in there illustrations without giving too much thought to it.
Silly me.

Does anyone know how many kh's are/Have been sold?
by purrpurr inare we at least able to estimate?
and where are the funds from these sales going?
the official line is of course that it's to build halls in africa etcbut i don't believe it .

I can`t say how many KH`s have been sold around the world by now but I`m sure its a bloody lot.And most if not all KH`s have been built with volunteer labor and in many cases donated materials all for free.
When a KH is sold all of the profits go back to the USA HeadQuarters in other words the Governing body .
How else can they fly all around the world and live like royalty without having to do a days honest work.

'Spiritual food' and the global south
by john.prestor ini'm watching john cedars rebuttal of the annual meeting, and right at the start stephen lett starts going on and on about spiritual food, how nutritious it is, how filling it is, it comes across as weird but it doesn't help admittedly that the guy looks like bozo the clown forgot his act.
but the thought just came to me as i'm eating dinner.. not everybody gets dinner.
not everybody gets three meals a day.

I left school in early 1950 @ 14 yrs of age ,did an apprenticeship in the leather-goods trade ,and then changed tack ,got a job in the photographic industry in a laboratory ,which opened up the way for me to be employed in the oil industry as a laboratory technician and officer 34 years until I retired some 12 years ago.
So I have worked 54 years with a 14 years old education as a child.
So I think it all depends on the individual and what they are capable of and not so much there level of education at the time..
We are all different ,some with far less education than me have gone on to be far greater than I could ever hope to achieve in my lifetime.
So i`m not sure that challenging Russells schooling credentials really matters .

Ignorance of Watchtower doctrine among young JW's
by nicolaou ini've been having a conversation with a young jw on twitter and have, once again, come up against beliefs that do not match up with official watchtower doctrine.
if you like you can read the full thread here (you'll need to click on some comments to open it all up).. anyway the upshot is that this jw, and many like her, believe that only truly wicked people will be killed at armageddon - not innocent babies and children or anyone who "didn't know better" perhaps because they didn't get a witness.
it's as though they cannot accept the obvious injustice of jehovah's morality.. this jw teenager believes that all these non-jw's who survive armageddon will get their chance to prove their loyalty during the 1000 year reign of christ - again, not a watchtower teaching.. i don't really have a question to ask, this is just an observation.

Hey nicolaou I don`t think its only the young that are ignorant of Watchtower doctrine ,I`m pretty bloody sure that many of the older ones are just as ignorant ,keeping up with new light discarding old light.
I think they are just being worn out by all of the many changes they have seen and because they have invested so much time energy and money into the religion ,pride wont allow them to call it quits.
And i`m not too sure that many JW`s especially the young care too much about doctrine ,it seems to me to be all about feelings ,emotions , patting pet panda`s ,living in so and so`s mansion that`s been left behind after the big "A"
Without thinking this through on any level, according to the Bible Adam and Eve would have had to work to maintain and spread the Garden of Eden '
God is not will not ,and has not anywhere in the Bible made life in general over a long period easy for mankind .
You have to work for your rewards.

Spiritual food doesn`t make hunger pains go away to those in need .
WT/JW need to put there money where there mouth is.
Oh that`s right all of the money there raking in now all goes to HQ in the USA ,in other words the GB.

This Is It...
by JW_Rogue injust finished watching the talk by tony morris on john cedars channel.
sounded to me that he was hedging his bets.
on the one hand he says "this is it" and out of the other he says prophecies are best understood after they are fulfilled.

prophecies are best understood after they are fulfilled.
And this statement is coming from a GB member who is a recipient and directed by God`s Holy Spirit ?
What`s the point of a prophecy then ?
