  so the watchtower is getting close to 50. i think there are about 44 of them listed here.

  i have been studying with jehovah's witnesses for approximately two years.

  initially, i liked the studies and felt that i was growing closer to god.

  however, as the studies progressed, they seemed to become increasingly negative and i did not like what i was being taught.

  You have given them hours of YOUR time that they report monthly.

  In other words they have wasted your time by not being up front with you that it is/was there goal to get you baptized into there religion .

  Don`t feel guilty about it.Once you stop associating with them at meetings they will drop you like a sack of potatoes showing there true colours.

  Lawsuit against the Watchtower for child abuse issue accepted in Quebec(Canada)

  hi everyone, i got the news that the lawsuit against the watchtower for the child abuse issue has been accepted in quebec(canada).

  that means it can proceed further.

  it is a first victory.

  Rattigan350 ,I do agree that it is the responsibility of parents and family members to report child sexual abuse when they become aware of it ,however they are often hindered from doing so by the Elders because it will bring reproach on Jehovah`s name and his organization (Jehovah`s Witnesses )

  Elders in there judicial committees handling such cases are privy to details of such sexual abuse that makes it a moral and ethical issue that they should report it to the local authorities to not only protect the victim but also any other child in the congregation not to mention children in the congregations territory .

  "The messiah" was to come from the "line of David" right??

  a huge realization hit me the other day while listening to a podcast that discussed the "lineage of jesus".. according to the bible, "the messiah" was to come through king davids lineage.

  but, if you wade through the entire chapter of matthew that lists "son of ...son of...son of...etc", it becomes obvious that jesus did not come through davids line at all!.

  in fact, that lineage lists jospeh (mary's husband) as being in davids line.

  So that was not rape. At verse 47, Mary says that she was 'overjoyed' with this news.

  So then does that make Mary an adulteress ? Was she guilty of porneia ? a whore ?

  Newly Free, Need Advice

  i stopped attending meetings about three months ago.

  after researching everything i could find on jehovahs witnesses (which is a lot) i can happily say i am awake and free.

  i was a baptized witness for over 25 year.

  HBF welcome to the forum ,i agree with other members here just back off a bit as far as your hubby is concerned but by all means celebrate your kids birthdays .don`t under any circumstances allow the JW/WT to get their claws into them .

  Your hubby sounds like a typical average JW who has a feel good attitude about the religion and not one based on knowledge or facts .

  What I would call a lazy intellectual belief in the religion .Don`t care too much about doctrine or dogma ,never really look into it ,just happy to hear about a new World where we can pat lions and pandas .

  And worst of all they are happy to let others do their thinking for them , its so much easier .

  My heart goes out to you ,I hope you have success in the long run in getting him out.

  The WTB&TS has also been instrumental in keeping the crime of child sexual abuse against children hidden from law enforcement agencies and child protection agencies with there policies .

  To contact the legal department first and only report it if it is mandatory in the state where it occurred .

  Otherwise keep it in -house and we will deal with it ourselves in our judicial committee .

  So many Elders have been guilty of complicit in a crime against minors because of Watchtower policy.

  Why bring a lawsuit against the Watchtower Society? They are not responsible for child abuse.

  They are responsible for covering up child sexual abuse within there organization and sweeping it under the carpet and are complicit in those crimes by not reporting those abuses to the appropriate authorities when it comes to there attention .

  Allowing other minors within the JW organization and potential victims from outside of their religion to be abused by there D2D activity within the wider community .

  angus stewart who did such a tremendous job in exposing many of the wrongs regarding how the watchtower deals with child abuse accusations during the australian royal commission into the handling of child abuse has been given a well deserved appointment.a media release on 22 feb. 2019 states in part -.

  mr darren jackson sc, mr michael o'bryan qc, mr angus stewart sc and mr john snaden have been appointed as judges of the federal court of australia...mr stewart will commence in the sydney registry on 25 february 2019. he completed a bachelor of arts in 1986 and a bachelor of laws in 1991 at the university of natal in south africa, and completed a bachelor of civil law (hons) at the university of oxford in 1994. mr stewart practised at the bar in south africa for 15 years, with five years as silk.

  The awful treatment of my disfellowshipped cousin still continues

  my cousin was disfellowshipped twenty years ago when he was 18 years old.

  he admitted to the congregation elders that he was fornicating with his ''wordly'' girlfriend.

  the elders were following him and hiding in their cars to see what he was up to.

  Jehovah`s Witnesses need to stop reading WT material and go back to reading what the Bible actually says ,

  such as the illustration / parable of the prodigal son ,short, sweet and to the point.
