ha, another visit from the jws.... thankfully they are few and far between (seem to roll around whenever the co visits or is about to visit...)an elder and his wife, presenting the magazines and inviting us to the talks, which are "so encouraging".
he had the saddest, most hang-dog expression, as he bemoaned these last days, so critical to deal with, and how the world was getting so terrible, things are so bad, blah blah blah, and every time i looked at her, she smiled encouragingly at me with that bright-eyed, put-on "sincere" smile.
i thanked them for coming, and said, "i appreciate you thinking about us" (after they said how the "missed us" at the meetings, ugh) -- "but we know where the kingdom hall is if we decide to go back.

why did jesus supposedly cast the demons into a herd of pigs?.
(matt 8 / luke 8).
and, how were there so many demons inside one man, that when "released" by jesus, it took a whole pack of pigs to contain them??.
I consider myself an Atheist and have always appreciated David Jays posts from a Jewish perspective and welcomed them.
It is probably also true that I may have said something that could be construed as detrimental to a person holding the Bible as the word of GOD.
However I have never intended to offend a believer because of their religious beliefs.
I have a suggestion for you Charles Dunn and David Jay that you might like to consider .
Rather than being on this public forum as it is , David could use the option of the PM to keep in contact with people like myself who appreciate his input on so many issues and getting the Jewish insight of what is basically a Jewish Bible.
Their are many on this forum that appreciate David Jays input. It would be a crying shame to deprive us of his comments because of a few individuals.
I think it would be a total loss for us not to have him have any contact with anyone anymore on this forum.
growing up a woman in the cult was pretty bleak.
most of the adult women i knew were either depressed sad women or an embarrassment to me.
i was typical kid in that regard.
Lets face it , in JW land women wear the pants ,they just let men think they do ,hang on I think this fact also applies to men and women everywhere .
As my Father in law used to say "Women are sitting on a Gold Mine" and its " Different methods they employ to extract the wealth
As for head coverings women just go along with that so that men think they are in subjection to them.
Think about it.
as a witness i always found a way to not have to embarrass myself by sitting down for the national anthem.. i’m curious.
how many of you stood up for the patriotic song?.
In the early days I often stayed seated until I learned to come into the movies or sporting event after the Anthem was played.
When I first woke up to TTATT I was at a sporting event with my niece and her husband JW`s and I forgot about the Anthem being played so I stood up and my niece said Uncle smiddy ??? And nothing more was said about it.
i have a 'financial advisor' email tell of massive changes coming to us (and thereby world currencies) on the above date.. does 13-dec 2017 mean anything to anyone.?.
he is talking about the removal of cash etc now if this is half way correct where does it leave the money machine of the wt?.
positive responses welcome..
Its not a Friday by any chance is it ?Does 13-Dec 2017 mean anything to anyone.?
i want to share my story.
(might be a tad long).
i have no idea where i stand anymore regarding being a jw and where i stand in my marriage.. im 28 years old and the years are certainly ticking by.
I'm 28, I have two beautiful young kids. An 18 month old and a 3 month old. I'm married to a really great guy, And I'm very confused
And you want to blow all that away on a fantasy ?
Maybe you should never have got married in the first place
And most certainly not have had two children to your husband .
How do you think he would feel if he was able to read your post.?
Maybe he would be far better off without you .
And if you dumped him for your fantasy boyfriend ?
And what ripples all that would send about your immediate family ,your parents his parents your children and all those close to both you and your husband.?
Think of the consequences and their are always consequences
so our school has just had the school inspectors in, looking and observing lessons.
the similarities with a co visit is uncanny.. how well behaved teachers, members of staff and pupils are..
What was the true purpose of the C,O`s visit in the first place ? ,and while we are at it The DO`s role ?
Whose keeping tabs on who ?
Bigger brother watching big brother ?

I know personally 3 people who were healed miraculously. On(e) of them was my son; two were colleagues
.While i don`t doubt your sincerity Vanderhoven7 , as a sceptic I would be more inclined to think you believe what you want to believe. That which comforts you and not what is more realistic.
I have never yet seen or read of a supposed miraculous event that has not been explained away by rational logic.
Also the fact that one or two or even three or four miracles supposedly occur from GOD around the world begs the question if he/she can really do that ,why not do it for everybody and stop pain and suffering ? Especially if he/she was truly a GOD of love ?
The experience you had with your son would be a truly emotional event and I can understand and appreciate your feelings there.
So lets not go down that path
however
Would you care to share the experiences of your colleagues for us to make an assesment ?without divulging personal details of course.
do not know where to post this but i like to hear your views on what you think had the biggest impact on humans.
for me, 2 things:.
music: every human listens one way or another to music and will likely have some sort of emotion.
I`ve been re-thinking this question
and have come to the conclusion that belief in a GOD has been the biggest impact on humans and not just Jesus or Mohammad or Buddha or Vishnu or any other prophet in the world ,but it is simply a belief in a GOD.
Sure Christians of all persuasions have been responsible for the deaths of millions in the name of GOD or Jesus but so have all the other religions throughout history killed and slaughtered in the name of this or that particular GOD that they worship.
In my previous post I singled out followers of Jesus Christ of slaughtering millions of people in his name and really all they were doing was following in the footsteps of Jesus father Jehovah who himself was responsible for the death of millions of people up until the time of Jesus Christ
Like Father like Son ?
However ALL GOD`s have been responsible for billions of death in the name of religion whether "true" or "false"
it doesn`t matter billions of people died and that is the Biggest impact "GOD" has had on humans.
