I`ll look forward to that ,I wonder what part of the world they will get that from ?

The yearbook used to be a real incentive to press on in the ministry and see the overall increase that was happening world wide and take it as Gods blessing his chosen organization to give a witness to the world.

I dont think this new arrangement will have the same desired effect as a bound book thats in your home library.

When a foreign nation fires missiles over your sovereign territory who can blame them ? And now as an Ali to the USA it`s in both their interests for Japan to do so especially in that region with China also expanding their influence in the South China Seas.

Why is there such a 'high turnover' within the Jehovahs Witnesses?

i happened to come across a time article in 2008. it was basically talking about the high turnover in american faiths.

it mentioned the jdubs and highlighted the following point.. an even more extreme example of what might be called "masked churn" is the relatively tiny jehovah's witnesses, with a turnover rate of about two-thirds.

that means that two-thirds of the people who told pew they were raised jehovah's witnesses no longer are — yet the group attracts roughly the same number of converts.

the problem the JWs DO have. now. Is the lack of converts combined with born-ins leaving.

In the 33 years I had being a JW convert and the six or so congregations I was involved in I could count on one hand the amount of people who came to a meeting through invitations that were regularly distributed in the community.

The converts in the Western world has been dwindling for many years now and what converts their have now are from poor 3rd world countries who do not contribute much money.

I find it hard to comprehend why the WT has cut back on printing books and Mags and not willing to pay a tax on these sales. ( It could be argued that they are only paying back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar

They have something like 7-8 million sure sales of these publications every time they produce a new publication.

I`m sure a worldly publishing company would consider that a dream result in sales.

Also ,it was once said that Advertisers had approached the WT to use their Mags for their products recognizing the distribution these Mags had worldwide ,what a misplaced opportunity then.

They could have been selective as to what was advertised in their mags.but look at the revenue they could have enjoyed with volunteer `s distributing these books and magazines worldwide.

Jehovah God ,Creator ,Judge and executioner.

His creation Adam and Eve were influenced to disobey God by Satan/serpent.

Satan was the instigator of this rebellion against God and gets what is effectively a slap on the wrist.

However humans who were victims of Satan have had no end of suffering and death for thousands of years since.

What has Satan suffered all these thousands of years in comparison to what humans have suffered and are still suffering ?

It`s like a human judge in a court of law giving a criminal a slap on the wrist for his crime and sentencing the victim to a lifetime of misery,sickness and death simply for being a victim

A Visit from the JWs, knocking at our door...!

ha, another visit from the jws.... thankfully they are few and far between (seem to roll around whenever the co visits or is about to visit...)an elder and his wife, presenting the magazines and inviting us to the talks, which are "so encouraging".

he had the saddest, most hang-dog expression, as he bemoaned these last days, so critical to deal with, and how the world was getting so terrible, things are so bad, blah blah blah, and every time i looked at her, she smiled encouragingly at me with that bright-eyed, put-on "sincere" smile.

i thanked them for coming, and said, "i appreciate you thinking about us" (after they said how the "missed us" at the meetings, ugh) -- "but we know where the kingdom hall is if we decide to go back.

I consider myself an Atheist and have always appreciated David Jays posts from a Jewish perspective and welcomed them.

It is probably also true that I may have said something that could be construed as detrimental to a person holding the Bible as the word of GOD.

However I have never intended to offend a believer because of their religious beliefs.

I have a suggestion for you Charles Dunn and David Jay that you might like to consider .

Rather than being on this public forum as it is , David could use the option of the PM to keep in contact with people like myself who appreciate his input on so many issues and getting the Jewish insight of what is basically a Jewish Bible.

Their are many on this forum that appreciate David Jays input.It would be a crying shame to deprive us of his comments because of a few individuals.

I think it would be a total loss for us not to have him have any contact with anyone anymore on this forum.

Lets face it , in JW land women wear the pants ,they just let men think they do ,hang on I think this fact also applies to men and women everywhere .

As my Father in law used to say "Women are sitting on a Gold Mine" and its " Different methods they employ to extract the wealth

As for head coverings women just go along with that so that men think they are in subjection to them.

Think about it.
