Bringing reproach on Jehovah's name.

i have thought long and hard about this, you know in those midnight hours.. you will probably string me alive in what i say, but here you go-.

i feel that the jw's do have the truth.

i do agree with the doctrines and biblical exgenesis they propound.i do feel that they have the 'truth' i do understand they are imperfect, and i think they have had to 'refine' their teachings as time has gone on-and change accordingly- i see nothing wrong with this.

Scotty is just one of those guys who left the "truth" but the :truth" never left them and they go back & forth in and out for years without ever coming to an accurate knowledge of what the real TRUTH really is.

Basically the reason is because it`s an emotional feel good feeling they get with the indoctrination and the false friendships that exist at Kingdom halls.

People like him/her have never really tested whether what the WT/GB say is factual and just take it on face value without doing their own private research of non JW material.

Do yourself a favour Scotty and research all that JW`s have preached these past 140 odd years then if you still think JW`s have the truth you deserve each other.

Welcome Pom ,the majority have gone through what you are now going through don`t let that get you down.It took me a couple of years before I shook off all the shackles that bound me.

That was about 11 years ago when I first was introduced to the internet.I am indebted to those guys forever.

At first I could not believe some of the things I was learning about the religion, continued research proved these things true.

I hope you stay around on this forum ,I have learnt and proved more about the JW religion than I ever knew in my 33 years as a Jehovah`s Witness .

What organization is ashamed of their early history that they need to continually re-define their early history .

What they say now about their origins compared to what was actually printed in there publications does not gel.

What gets my goat about the "real life" cases that happen is the response Elders and the organization give

",We abhor Child Sexual Abuse and the parents have every right to report such a case" or words to that effect.

What they fail to acknowledge is the fact THEY should be reporting such abuse when it comes to their attention .however THEY continually fail to do so.

This fact was made quite clear in the ARC into child sexual abuse in institutions.

This very same fact has been demonstrated in other Child sex abuse cases in the JW organization around the world.

On the one hand they claim they abhor child sex abuse among Jehovah`s Witnesses

On the other hand when it comes to their notice of child sex abuse against a Jehovah`s Witness minor and they hold a Judicial Committee of three Elders to investigate they ALL fail to notify the appropriate authorities of the crime.

They neither protect the child in the congregation nor do they protect children in the community by withholding such information from the authorities .

if i am not mistaken, i think randy may have taken ill over the years.

I hope Dogpatch is OK as he was one of the first ones I came across when I first had a PC about 10-12 years ago and like others have said I found this site through him.

Another one I would be thankful for for my knowing TTATT is Shaun`s site ,10 or 12 years ago ,I am indebted to both of them for where I, and my family are today .

Confusion with 'Message of Judgement'

there has been some discussion regarding the change in the jws message so i thought i would have a listen to the recent annual meeting to try to get an idea as to why the jws are not clear on the matter, once again.

it's strange that the annual meeting hasn't been put on jw org tv to date.it looks like the confusion stems from a talk given by tight pants tony and i've written out a part of that talk.

his talk was titled 'making our blows count'.

How many times and how many years can they get away with this BS? The average JW has to be a lot dumber than I would ever have imagined .

This crap was doing the rounds in the mid 1970`s that the message was going to be changed to one of judgement against those who had not taken heed of the life saving message JW`s had been giving up until that time.

Here we go again I suppose

Work Christmas functions: Being a Bible Student (unbaptized)

hi all,i have been studying with the witnesses for more than 6 months and regularly attend both midweek & weekend meetings, and i am nearly at the end of the "bible teach" book.

my boss is adamant i attend team christmas functions.

she knows about my studying and potential baptism next year, and has suggested that i attend and just not participate in activities like kris kringle.

What can I do?

What you can do is take the advise of all the above posters and get away from this mind controlling manipulative family destructive organization before you lose your self worth.

I gather you believe in a God ,OK ? no problem, he gave you a brain for you to use and make decisions for yourself in other words you are in control of your own destiny.

However if you get baptized as a JW you then give your brain over to those few men in America who will decide what you can do and what you can`t do in all activities of your life including your family ,friends.associates ,etc,etc,etc,

It does not happen all at once it is a slow process that they use to control all your activities.

It`s like the" Hotel California" you can enter but you will never leave on your own terms.

Save yourself the trouble and a lot of heartache

The Fall Guy

Their is a difference in JW speak as to what is sin and what is a crime .The Adamic sin, disobeying Gods command not to eat of the forbidden fruit should not be confused with committing a crime such as Manson did.

According to what I was taught as a JW the likes of Manson ,Bundy, Hitler ,etc possibly may not get a resurrection for what they did.

And yes I know JW`s speak out of both sides of there mouth in issues like this.

As for crimes of this nature where their is no reasonable doubt about who is responsible I am all for the death penalty and not incarcerating them for the rest of their life at taxpayers expense.

The victims did not get justice in this case.

Soon (on the never ending plan)

Imminent (? That`s already passed a thousand times)

Last days (That go on for Decades /years/ a century)

Around the corner (on a roundabout)

So very near (yet so very far)

World events mean it cant be much longer.( The majority of Nations/people have never had it so good)

2018 Memorial and Special Talk Speculation

so we all know that the special talk titled "who really is jesus christ?

" will be given before the memorial next year which is very new.

also new this year is that the special talk will be prerecorded and given by a branch committee member rather than a brother from the local congregation.

"Who Really Is Jesus Christ?" Maybe they will finally admit that JC is an incompetent "King" in so far as he hasn`t accomplished anything these past 104 years by then 2018.

They could somehow come up with nu-lite that everybody should partake of the bread &wine and somehow "spin"the idea that there are two classes overlapping each other.

They got away with it on the generation teaching so why not this one ?

By keeping my lapel card on after the program, I was able to provide a "Fine Witness"!

yes friends!.

after the program, i kept my "lapel badge" on.. so while filling up my car with fuel, the attendant asked me about it.

i was able to share some great points about the wonderful program my wife and i had just enjoyed in sydney all weekend!.
