  No more talk about the Org. regarding Sexual abuse on this site ....what happened ???

  the other day on this site, a lot of topics about the org.

  and sexual abuse...now when i come on this site...crickets... what happened ?

  it seems everyone is being exposed except the org...oh yes it's mentioned here and there but then it fades away...many celebrities are being exposed....& gov't officials and even our president, but not the org...ummmm.... thoughts ?.

  I think it gets covered pretty well .Every time a new case appears in the "news" anywhere in the world it seems to end up here.

  However you cant keep thrashing the same story over and over again where we have no control over what happens to the perpetrator or the victim.

  As for the comment it's "mild" compared to the world.,I think its a lot worse when you take into account the numbers of JW`s in the world and the amount of child sex abuse cases that have been reported around the world.

  Just my 2 cents worth.

  Do you (or did you) have much of a social life as a Jehovahs Witness.

  i ask this question out of interest, because as a jehovahs witness for some 26 years, i have always felt that there is an 'all work, no play' culture within the organisation.

  the organisation doesn't promote social gatherings.

  i could count on one hand each year how many get togethers we have had.

  We had lots of social gatherings ,picnics playing sports ,camping and dining out for meals especially after the Sunday meetings.

  Also attending meals with a group of us that consisted of going to one another`s place for each of the courses.

  Their was never any shortage of booze either.

  This was all in contrast to the first couple of congregations in my initial 10 years with JW`s which were lifeless by comparison.

  Welcome Spacegirl ,just make sure you lay the law down fast and hard ,otherwise he will do the bidding of the WT corporation/cult and your life will become hell.Give them an inch and they will take a mile.

  Which Things Did Your Overzealous Parents Ban?

  we all know the gb like to impose rules upon the rules... but did anyone else out there have parents that implemented rules upon those rules?

  mine did.

  my mum tended to copy whatever the elders wives were doing and took it to the extreme.

  faithnomore it seems like you and me were the only parents here who had restrictions on what their children could do. LOL

  My youngest son was a huge KISS fan that got banned

  Smurfs ? not in my house

  Both my sons loved "The Life Of Brian" that soon went off and out the door when john cleese started banding the name "JEHOVAH" around LOL

  And while they could play sports at school extra curricular activities were out of bounds however they were lucky in the fact their were a lot of kids their age in the congregation and other close by congregations.

  And they have since told me they all got up to a lot of mischief us self righteous parents never had a clue about.

  It`s something we all have a chuckle about now .

  .I think it was the 1963 International Convention in Melbourne Victoria when Vandesluy`s brother? Bob and his wife stayed at our house during the convention.They turned up with a small trailer towed behind their car and they wanted to sleep out their but we insisted they sleep in the house.

  We moved to Redcliffe Qld congregation where his married sister? Henja eventually ended up at .

  Watchtower Organizational Structure

  does anyone know of any diagrams online that show the current hierarchical structure of the watchtower compared to the previous hierarchical structures of the past.

  i know they have complicated it on purpose to try to protect themselves legally from lawsuits.

  i would like to try to understand their current structure compared with the past.

  Jehovah`s Witnesses / Governing Body Claim To Abhor Child Sexual Abuse Within Their Congregations /Members who are victims.?

  so my question to them is why have they continually failed to report incidents of child sexual abuse of child members in their congregations to the appropriate authorities ,either police or child protection agency`s, when they are holding judicial committees into these allegations in their congregations when they occur or even some time after ?.

  they have consistently failed to do so.. and this failure to do so is not confined to one country ,it is a pattern that is repeated worldwide ,in one country after another country .

  ,I only hope that if the federal or Local Governments don`t act on the ARC `s recommendations that we collectively, and people on other ex JW sites can bring pressure on the Govts. to do so.

  i was in my old stomping ground a couple of months ago and happened to be walking past the home of an old family friend.

  word is in the hall that i used to go to is that "i am one of them" meaning apostate.

  no one from my old hall has contacted me to find out what happened.

  You both make valid points and while I have made attempts to connect with long time JW associates (I refuse to call them friends anymore ) a couple I had success with at the time however they never contacted me back ,I have never tried to connect with friends when we were children or close school mates that I grew up with.

  And I have had regrets about that too at some degree.{ Apparently they haven`t tried to contact me either }

  I guess that`s life and we all just move on to the next chapter in our lives.

  Their is a section in our Sunday Newspaper titled "Desperately Seeking" that i always read ,who knows ?

  i often wondered how far back the witnesses had been involved with my family.

  my grandmother died at the end of 2013 and while going through her photos we found some of my great-grandmother, dora, who was born in 1901 and died in 1994. there is a photo of dora dated 1946 standing outside her house in east riding, yorkshire.

  on the back of the photo her husband had written "in a human moment before jehovah grabbed her".. my great grandfather, who died before i was born, did not like the witnesses.

  That Christendom has kept the name of God "Jehovah" from her members for Centuries is just another lie they have told and repeated over the years so that many JW`s and ex JW`s still think is a fact.

  However nothing is further from the truth. Christendom has used the name of Jehovah for God since at least the 13th Century plainly visible on and in Church buildings in Europe and other parts of the world including Australia.

  The name also features in literature ancient and modern pertaining to the Bible as well as hymns in Christendom to this day.

  Christendom has followed the Christian Greek Scriptures (New Testament) of highlighting the name of Jesus as the name that is to be held up above every other name {not Jehovah}

  Of course JW`s have to be different and defy the Christian Greek Scriptures and exult the name of Jehovah.
