gosh, smiddy, it's nice to have a request for poetry!.

"the black oaks" describes where i live in the california sierra foothills; we are, for the most part, above the fog and below the snow.

nevertheless, we do get both occasionally.

You have a gift CoCo ,correction you have two gifts one with words and obviously one with your paintings .

I`m in my later years and have yet to find a "gift" that I have ,LOL

I have a mild fascination with trees forests brooks streams waterfalls and nature in general how can anyone not be moved emotionally by viewing such beauty.?

I am also especially fascinated with tall dead Gum trees with no leaves on them ,i just wish I could show you what I mean but it`s beyond my PC skills.

Sometimes here in Lakes Entrance VIC.Aust we get sea mists that cover the town it`s always a delight to experience it.

We are right on the ocean (90 mile beach) and lakes as well as the forests and snow fields just 2 hours away

some might say paradise at our doorstep .

What I love about this site is the diversity of subjects and threads that are posted and in some ways they all relate to our JW experience whether it`s a false expectation or just the realities of life.

Give a thought to us poor bastards in OZ who are suffering through 40+ deg.celsius and my air condititioning has packed up and we are just relying on fans blowing hot air around .

C`mon CoCo give me some verse to cheer me up I know you can do it ?

I am longing for the rain and coolness of the air

for when the change does come

I feel I will not despair .

I have read it and printed it out I think it is an excellent work that explains itself clearly using quotes from WT publications and then using logic and reasoning where they are wrong .

I think the phrase " Captives Of A Concept" was borrowed from the ex GB members book whose name just escapes me at this time........." Crises of Conscience"

I would recommend it to everybody and it`s also cheap $ wise .

Thank you Don Cameron for publishing it.

Apparently Jehovah`s Witnesses have no scruples about " LYING" to their GOD Jehovah

i thought it was bad enough that jw`s put in weekly reports of fs hours every month in the d2d work when in fact the average publisher would never mention this "good news of the kingdom" to the householder .. more often than not it would be something like some mundane thing about what they have observed about the householders property whether they have kids ,what a lovely garden they have before being cut off by the householder with i`m not interested knowing jw`s are trying to convert them/sell them the watchtower and closing the door.. yet the jw goes away happily putting in a report telling jehovah they have spent so much time in the fs witnessing about him and the kingdom of christ jesus...... cart witnessing is even a worse lie ,why ?

because jw`s make no attempt to witness to anybody they expect people to come to them to be witnessed to which of course never happens .

they spend hours upon hours a month telling jehovah by their fs reports they hand in how much they have witnessed for him ,when in fact they have done nothing of the sort .. they chit chat among themselves witnessing to nobody for hours on end and then lie in their fs report they have been witnessing for jehovah ?.

Jrjw ,Couldn`t that argument just be turned around in Christendoms favour ? How about the Mormons who go from D2D or for that matter the SDA ,the Salvation Army ,the Baptists all of which engage in D2D work and i`m sure their are many others.

So JW`s are really no different from any other Christian Religion in this sense.

And they have no more authority over "truth" than any of these other religions.

New to the truth

i have been meeting with member's of the kingdom hall, and i have attended a few times now on sundays.

i'd like to discuss experiences with this group since i'm new.

Welcome to the board Matthew glad to have you on this site.You say you are new to the "truth" ?

What exactly is "truth" according to JW`s ? What they believed 5 years ago ? it`s changed ,10 years ago ? it`s changed 20 years ago ? its changed 50 years ago ? its changed over 100 years ago ? it is always changing according to Jehovah`s Witnesses .

If Jehovah the God of truth was in fact directing this religion why couldn`t he say what was true and factual in the first place instead of giving them untruths in the meantime ?

Use your brain Matthew does "truth" change ? Their is no such thing as past truths ,new truths ,old truths that the JW`s have used in the past to excuse their false prophecy`s ,interpretations ,and evident expectations .

"Get out of her if you don`t want to be a sharer of her sins".

If by chance someone does approach the witnessing cart what do we find ,why it`s bro,or sis, so and so ,more mundane chit chat and they include that in their report of how many hours they witnessed ?

Did Jesus or the Apostles set up a stall and wait for people to come to them ? And keep silent until they were approached ? Or was Jesus and the Apostles pro-active and GIVE a witness to those in the market places and speak to those who would stop and give a hearing ear ,not waiting to be approached .

Shame on Jehovah`s Witnesses who have no scruples in lying to the GOD they profess to worship as the GOD of truth.

What to Do....Please Help. Awakening JW for a very long time

good afternoon , .

i have been having doubts for many years and as most jw's i have certainly not done myself a favor by suppressing all of my critical thinking.

i am married with 3 kids and my wife and i are inactive, but my wife has made it very clear in speech and action that she wants to go to all meetings, field service, and indoctrinate our kids.

Your wife claims to believe the Bible ? Assert your headship authority according to scriptures and call out her unscriptual behavior as a wife who should be in subjection to her husband .

Use theocratic warfare on her and the elders .Two can play at that game.

well i thought i had heard it all but, the mercury columns "will christians enjoy sex in heaven" just hurt my brain.

how can god allow sexual relations in heaven without marriage??

in heaven there is no need for anyone to belong exclusively to another(wow!!!
