It saddens me to know that marriages break up because of religion and the blame, whose fault it is ?
by smiddy3 ina jehovah`s witness couple who have been married for many years and some with children of various ages and have been serving in their congregation meeting attendance, fs and bible studies with their children for many years .. and then one of them begins to have doubts about what they are being taught and what they actually are supposed to believe now that some changes have been made with nu-lite.. the doubts grow and then the the use of the internet to investigate further some of the claims of the gb/wt religion .. with the wealth of information available on the www it now becomes impossible to continue to be an active member of the jehovah`s witness religion without being an utter hypocrite .
you no longer believe them anymore that they alone are gods chosen people in this day.. however your spouse does not see things the way you do not at all and after many months of arguments bickering threats the ultimatum is something like if you don`t believe what i believe that you have left jehovah we can`t live together anymore ,i want a divorce unless you come to your senses.. who is the one here breaking up the marriage ?.
isn`t it in the majority of cases the jw who ends the marriage ?

A Jehovah`s Witness couple who have been married for many years and some with children of various ages and have been serving in their congregation meeting attendance, FS and bible studies with their children for many years .

Who is the one here breaking up the marriage ?
Isn`t it in the majority of cases the JW who ends the marriage ? because of religious differences ?
Is it even a scriptural reason for divorce differences of a religion.?
The Jehovah`s Witnesses blame the one who rejects the WT beliefs as the one who has split up the marriage however in my opinion they would bend over backwards to keep the marriage alive
I would appreciate your opinions ,experiences to throw more light on this subject.
Do Jehovah`s Witnesses break up marriages or do those non believing spouses break up marriages of Jehovah`s Witnesses.?
How say you .?

Sister may have had a slight heart attack, do I text her?
by Xanthippe inso my cousin phoned and told me my jw sister was taken to hospital with chest pains and it may have been a slight heart attack or possibly she's starting with angina.
now as some of you know my sisters and brother have had little to do with me for 29 years.
we've met at funerals, or arranged them, but i just thought today what if she did die?

Use theocratic warfare to your advantage Rom.12:20-21 this scripture with the comments below should move your sisters heart if she still has one.
Letting your sister know that--in spite of how she has mistreated you--you still care. That's all. It's just letting her know you care. Nothing more, nothing less.
my thoughts are this: do the right thing, the thing that makes YOU feel good: your normal.
I think these posters have summed it up nicely

Why were the Israelites so deplorable?
by eyeuse2badub inwhat made the israelites so deplorable?.
i started thinking about how the bible describes ‘god’s people’, the israelites.
most of the time god was very pissed off at them.

Maybe God YHWH should have chosen the Amalekites or maybe the Jebusites or even the Philistines they couldn`t have been any worse could they ?
Hang on doesn`t God see into the future ? Didn`t he foresee what was going to happen anyway ?
Doesn`t the fact that God knows past present and future all at once make the whole history of the Bible OT/NT and it`s message irrelevant ?

Bd if your post is typical of what is happening in KH`s all over the Country/World while on the one hand it is sad on the other hand it is good news ,why ? because it shows dissatisfaction with the religion low attendance unhappy people that do attend poor FS participation and just a general feeling of poor morale .
Certainly shows in my mind that a reasonable percentage will leave the religion
The CO`s visit browbeating the cong. for low attendance was telling ,don`t give them a carrot beat them with a stick.
In other words don`t offer the cong. healthful words of encouragement in a loving manner but whip them into submission with a big stick.

I want to understand British references to your countries.
by compound complex ingreetings, friends across the two ponds:.
of course, as per other posters' recommendations, i could google this; i have and remain, not totally confused, but wanting the straight dope as well as nuanced meaning.
i'm both curious and needing to know for purposes of editing works of american and british writers.

Are Anointed Female JW`s To Grow Beards In Heaven ?
by smiddy3 inok i have been out for over 25 years however i was active for 33 years and every picture /illustration of the 144,000 in wt publications i ever saw always showed the anointed/144000 with jesus on the throne apparently all male with beards.. not one woman was ever depicted in their drawings/illustrations that i ever saw of those sharing kingly rule with christ jesus not one.. and the saying is : 'a picture speaks more than a thousand words".
i can hear a jw apologist saying now [ their is no gender in heaven neither male or female ] well if that is the case why are everybody illustrated wearing a beard clearly a sign of being of the male gender.?.
in the wt illustrations/pictures of angels they are not shown as having beards giving the impression they are neither male or female .however not with those taken to heaven to rule with christ the anointed.. maybe the governing body of jehovah`s witnesses are showing their true feelings about women who claim to be of the anointed .. that the g.b.

The apostle writes: “You are all, in fact, sons of God through your faith in Christ … there is neither male nor female; for you are all one person in union with Christ Jesus.” (Ga 3:26-28)
Isn`t that a contradiction ? you are all,in fact sons ....their is neither male or female ?
And then the WT artists picture all the Anointed with beards which brings up another point no one with a beard nowadays anyway is going to be appointed as a GB yet when they miraculously go to heaven they will have a beard ?

Maybe the Governing Body of Jehovah`s Witnesses are showing their true feelings about women who claim to be of the Anointed .
That the G.B. really do not believe any women will be of the Anointed and rule with Jesus Christ for a thousand years .
Your thoughts ?

My thoughts are with you PE and your brother make sure your brother does not meet with them under any circumstance and tell the Elders in his congregation under no circumstance are they to meet with your brother without you being present and threaten them with legal action if they go against your wishes .
Best of luck.

Can you top this example of JW corruption?
by Mace.Bean inif you are a former jw elder, can you share any examples of corruption which you personally witnessed that were kept secret from the congregation?
following is an account from a longtime elder named tommy who recently disassociated.. the minor daughter of a presiding elder in a west texas congregation committed fornication with a 19-year old baptized witness in her father’s home.
the daughter had to confess to a judicial committee which included the aforementioned tommy.

I knew of an Elder in a Congregation who was in charge of KH funds and used them for his own personal benefit as a business venture he said with the intention of paying it back ,however he was found out before he could do that .
He was under threat of legal action if he didn`t make an effort to pay it back pronto .He was deleted as an Elder for a time and after he did repay all the money some time later he was re-instated as an Elder
It was regarded as a one off thing and out of character for this man ,it was all handled in house.
