JWs & "generations"

we all know what a mess the jw "generation" teachings have been.

but, there is one hard and fast truth concerning jws and "generations" - that is, that many generations of jws have died without the realization of the hope they were promised.. there were many before my grandfather's time, but i'm going to start with his.

his generation, his peers, lived at a time when jwdom was exciting, bold, confident, seemingly deeper and scholarly, seemingly genuinely concerned about the preaching work and saving lives.

A bloody good thread Magnum ,I became a "Witness" at 20 years of age in 1960 and can relate to what you say.

However even before that time I think of those who gave up their Life`s dreams and aspirations following C.T.Russell`s writings ,prophecy`s and predictions that never materialized .

A wasted generation who knows what they may have achieved had they not gave their lives to this cause.

Then of course was J.F.Rutherford who hoodwinked God knows how many more into beleiving that Millions Now Living Will/May never die . And of course we all now know they already have .

How many of them put their life on hold gave up their dreams and aspirations ,put off child birth ,career`s only to have none of the promises come to fruition

Which brings me to my time beginning with the "Witnesses" and publications that I thought had to be inspired by a God Jehovah who I had learnt for the first time was God`s name ( I had never thought of him as having a name ) Books that had an impression on me."Your Will Be Done On Earth" , "Equipped For Every Good Work "

" Let your Name Be sanctified "

"Things Which It Is Impossible To Lie " and " Babylon The Great Has Fallen Gods Kingdom Rules " Their was also a booklet that had a profound affect on me during that early period called "Basis For Belief In A New World "

At least these publications seemed reasonable at the time and backed by the scriptures and world events at the time

What do they have to base their faith on today ?

An overlapping generation ?

Should it be considered sexual harassment?

on thing that really makes me angry and disgusted is when i think of the way in the past that the elders pressured me over and over again to have a meeting with them over a petty make out and petting incident.

they asked such instrusive, personal questions like, “did he touch your breast, for how long?

under or over your clothes?” i know that this happens to thousands of people, especially young women, and it’s just not right, it makes me so angry that i almost feel tempted to confront the elder who especially did this, when i see him at the convention in a few weeks and tell him what a sick person he is and how much trauma he caused me, manipulating me and pressuring me to answer such instrusive questions while he sat there and took notes!!

Talk to a lawyer get him/her to write a letter to the Elder (he/she will know how to word it ) even if their is nothing legally that can be done about it you can bet your life its going to scare the shit out of the Elder/s and it will be well worth the money you paid for a lawyer to send the letter .

i have never really spoken on social media about my jw family shunning me.

i didnt even discuss or answer any questions about why they didnt come to my wedding, my birthday parties, why there are never any pics of them with me/us together.

until today.... today i woke up and had this insane desire to be open.

I have only just realized that it is Fathers Day in the U.S.A. babygirl maybe you can remember it as Daughter`s Day as the day you no longer care about fathers day or mothers day anymore .

Good for you babygirl kudos to you ,your family who shun you are not worthy of you . My D.I.L. never hears from her mum,dad or siblings either in over 15 years ,what I say is who needs them ,its their loss not yours or her`s.

Maybe you should change your call sign from babygirl to something more apt now like Awakenedgirl or grownupgirl or something along those lines .LOL

Blood transfusions and blood fractions

i have been reading some medical journals on blood transfusions, blood fractions and its components, antibodies, etc.

it's like another language so i find myself researching the medical terms just so i can understand somewhat.

Somewhere on this site is a Thesis by Kerry louderBack titled "The Tort Of Misrepresentation By Jehovah`s Witnesses On Blood " or something along that line .or Google it .

J.W.`s state that blood should be poured out on the ground and not be used for anything ? Quoting scripture right ?

J.W.`s will not donate their own blood and stored for future use ,right ?

If a J.W. used blood and bone fertilizer in his garden on a regular basis he would be counselled and if he continued to use it he would be D.F.right ?

Then I ask you why is it alright for a dedicated Baptised J.W. to accept fractions of blood transfused into their body when those fractions have been obtained from donated blood stored and processed in a laboratory from worldly people who they have condemned to death at Armageddon, into fractions to be used by Jehovah`s Witnesses and its approved by the Governing Body ?

Isn`t that hypocrisy and double standards to say the least ?

Universal sovereignty on trial

i just had a thought of clarity regarding the jw explanation for this doctrine.

they explain that satan challenged god regarding his right to rule.

god failed to prove his right to rule.

Correct me if I am wrong .

Jehovah had Sovereignty over humans only up until Adam and Eve "sinned" however long that took certainly a short time in Human history.

Once they did "sin" Satan became the ruler of the world the "God of this system of things" Apparently with Jehovah`s blessing

And he has done so for the past 6000+ years ?

Jehovah has only had a token of Sovereignty for a short time with Adam and when he chose the Israelites only and no other nations which surely shows he is also a partial God.

So how is his Sovereignty on trial if Jehovah gave it up in the first place and allowed Satan to usurp that position with Jehovah`s O.K. and approval ? for more than 6000 years ?
