First year with baby!

i wanted to share a few recent pics of izabella with everyone.

this week marks her one year since her coming home from nicu.

she has been growing and changing so much these last few months in particular.

This is the same kid who received multiple blood transfusions of which Watchtower taught us that they were deadly. I know better now and she is the results of that as well as how far science has taken us.

Beautiful pics and congratulations to you and your wife for taking a stand for your child and ignoring JW/WT `s flawed directions on medical procedures .

ok so this is a topic i've pondered and go back and forth on.. i can easily see a point where lawsuits cause massive deficits in the organization.

honestly i feel like we are seeing the tip of the iceberg in regards to lawsuits on child abuse.

to me it looks like the property sell offs are to be able to get ready for this.

so i roll up to the job site and looky there, two uber pioneer dubs dragging themselves down the sidewalk.

both ladies are in there early 60's and born in.. my heart started pumping, but i had to act.i was directly across the street from them.

i walked right to the sidewalk and said in a very loud, but not mean voice: "you can't teach overlapping generations from the bible!!

Good point Chook if its good enough for Jesus its good enough for any of us.

Would the money changers rationalize they had the "truth" for being persecuted by Jesus ?

Critical thinking

what kind of questions would you use to get a child'scritical thinking skills going from a young age with regards to the bible/god/jesus/anything to do with the religion??.

my most hated answer jws gave to people when they said you can't see god so how do you know he exists was "well you can't see electricity or gravity but you know they exist".

sorry but that doesn't prove god exists.

I think these questions need to be asked of Adult Jehovah`s Witnesses also because they need simple questions to get them thinking and reasoning.

Which they surely lack.

What I'm after though are simple questions that can get a child thinking and reasoning

That is a good post F.r. getting children to see from an early age not to accept what might be widely believed on face value.

My contribution : How about Samson and the 300 foxes ? Judges15:4-5 The absurdity of one man catching 300 foxes then corralling them ,tying their tales together and setting them off on fire among the Phillistines crops ?

Its not as though foxes live together in one little community ,they cover a large/wide area.

or Solomon offering up 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep as a sacrifice to Jehovah to what amounted to a dedication of a Kingdom Hall for the Israelites .1kings 8:63-66

That`s 88,000 hoofs of cattle and 480,000 feet of sheep they they would need to dispose of because they wouldn`t eat them .

568,000 in total what a bloodbath .

Imagine all of the blood and gore spill`t their.

{ Kids will just love that information } LOL

many people attack, doubt and fault god's word.

yet god has made several promises in his word.he promised to preserve his word unto every generation,he promised that every word would be truth,he promised that we can rely and depend on his every word.satan wants nothing more than to dismiss, and cast doubt on god's word... so the question today is... do we have god's preserved word today?

The trouble is Jehovah`s Witnesses Hierarchy never viewed sex abuse of a child as a crime only as a sin and never felt compelled to report such abuse to any authority .

And their dogmatic approach sticking to the "Two Witness" rule does'nt help them one bit.

AWAKE May 22 1994 "YOUTHS WHO PUT GOD FIRST" and shows the faces of 26 youths who died adhering to the "NO BLOOD" doctrine of Jehovah`s Witnesses and portrays them as martyrs .

"I am surprised there have not been lawsuits against the society for the misrepresentation". and for the omissions which is a form of lying contained in the pamphlet.

So am I, Finally Left, and especially so if any of the parents of any of these children and others who have lost a loved one due to this flawed doctrine has since learnt the truth about the truth. (TTATT)

This is an excellent article and should be mandatory reading for any Court / Hospital who has to deal with a similar situation .

the next time a jw brings up a natural disaster or severe weather event as proof of the last days, and they preface it by reciting a fact they heard on the news like, (just for the sake of example) 'it's the worst earthquake in 70 years' or 'the worst plague in 200' years', (you get the picture), then simply reply: "oh, so that means that ____ years ago there was one that was worse, right?".

i did this twice.

I have made this comment a few times ,its the biggest cyclone we have had i 50 years ,OK I say, so we had one as big as this 50 years ago? and umpteen more this big in the last few Centuries just like it.

My J.W. niece said to me once when we were driving through a rural area ,"look how dry it is everything is brown no green growth anywhere

... they've accepted me!

finance is already sorted - they're waiting for me to give them my new student number so that they can start paying me.

just need to formally accept bristol's offer and sort out accommodation.. accommodation should be ok - i've been told priority is given to new students, plus i'm enrolling onto a program for a real degree as a postgraduate - i won't be studying gender studies or some crap like that.

Does Disfellowshipping only prohibit spiritual contact with a DF family member or friend?

all through my life, now in my 40's, i've seen df people get completely shunned by family and friends, but an ex elder showed me the stfog book that says it's just spiritual contact that stops.

so what's the crack?

i'm mega confused, as i want to go p.o.m.o or ideally da but don't want to loose family..

Jehovah`s Witnesses speak out of both sides of their mouth depending on what they want to influence their hearers about.

On the one hand it`s only about spiritual matters and even that they have two sets of standards and practices but in practice among the rank and file if you are DF you will be shunned full time ,if you are D.A. you will be shunned full time .

No contact or association on any level unless it is extreme family business that cannot be avoided otherwise have no contact with that individual under any other circumstance.
