Review: Apostasy
by neat blue dog instan's recent post about the apostasy movie reminded me that i had watched it last month, so i thought i'd write a review.
please note this will probably contain some spoilers so if you care about that sort of thing hold off on reading this.. first i want to say that this is probably one of the most if not the most accurate and reasonable cinematic portrayals of jws.
however here is a list of little inaccuracies: an outdated view that preaching to all the world can 'make' the end come, jesus briefly portrayed with long hair, judicial reinstatement meetings being called "guidance meetings", a normal weekly public talk being introduced as "the first in a series of talks he's prepared for us", applause at the end of a local needs part, and a jw saying of god "you need to earn his love, it's conditional" ( i know this is basically true in practice but they'd rarely say it out loud).

Is attendance down in your location too?
by StarryNight9 ini was commenting on another thread about how local kh attendance is down.
memorial attendance was also way down and the circuit assembly had hundreds less people than what is typical.
my jw family has even mentioned it.

Spot on steve2
,Also I`d like to point out that when they count the number of attendees at the memorial they count every single person baptized or not young and old including those that only attend once or twice a year.
Could it be they are now also doing that with meeting attendance in general ? and not only counting baptized ones ?

Clearly numbers in this congregation or that congregation either going up or down is no indication of whether the Jehovah`s witnesses are either in a decline or in an expansion .
In whatever country you are living in its going to fluctuate here there or anywhere.
Jehovah`s Witnesses are typically a moving population or they certainly were when I was in more than 25 years ago.
Figures now compared to 10 , 15 or 20 years ago are the only benchmarks you should go on otherwise its just a waste of time.

Look at all these stores and businesses offering price matching! They're desperate for funds. The whole thing's gonna collapse. We're getting close!'
Of course it wouldn`t occur to them that all the sales of Kingdom Halls around the world ,sales of Branches etc,not to mention the sales of many of Brooklyn`s former Head Quarters in New York is a sign of the Governing Body getting desperate and in need of funds ,that their afraid its going to collapse and that their end is getting that much closer ?

km 2/08 S.In the last decades Jehovah has poured out his blessing, resulting in 531 congregations and 272 groups in 30 languages today. In total, more than 36,000 publishers work in foreign-language areas
My question is how does that compare with what is happening in Germany today 2018? Seeing their is a gap of 10 years ?
How many peak publishers in Germany in 2008 compared to 2018 ?

Victoria, Australia: Report on Oct. 11th hearing involving Steven Unthank
by AndersonsInfo invictoria, australia: report on oct. 11th hearing involving steven unthank.
(this report is from an anonymous xjw who attended the hearing.
i had no plans to turn up to the court hearing as an observer, as in my experience, it can take several hearings and a number of months before any court case gets rolling.

People you are forgetting that this lawsuit by Steven Unthank took place 7 years ago and was eventually dismissed by the court some two years or so later as not being in the public interest or some such thing
Its not still going on.

The "Faithful And Discreet Slave Class" is it still a Doctrine / Belief ? of Jehovah`s Witnesses today ? 2018 ? or is it old light.
by smiddy3 ini have listened to steven unthank`s podcast and found it very informative and interesting and thought i would ask this question for anyone who is still a practicing member either a pimo or a pomo who only goes along for a family member ,whether this doctrine is still a part of the religions teachings ,or whether it has been dropped altogether .. your replies are much appreciated ..

For newbies and lurkers and other interested parties.
Regarding the F&DS Slave Class and A Court Action in Morwell Vic. Australia.
7 Years ago in the State of Victoria a man Steven Unthank took the WTB&TS to court and laid charges against them.
Here is one such account first posted here 7 years ago and last commented on 2 years ago .
Here is the post on this site. : "The JWs in The Crowd Gasped In Australian Court " { Use the search option above}
Where it was stated that the F&DS Class was only a "Religious Arrangement"

When the WT study goes beyond what is written in the Bible.
by skin inin today's wt study, 9th sept 2018, para 14. we learnt that jesus mother, mary, is one of the 144.000 anointed at penticost.
just another classic, we know more than what is contained in scripture..

Supposedly per the WTS, spirits do not have flesh and blood bodies, so why would any of them have a penis in heaven?
Then why are they always shown as males with beards ? in WT illustrations ?

What are they trying to hide
by UnshackleTheChains inok. we are all aware of the scandal around the non reporting of child abuse cases to the authorities by the elders and how it was part of watchtower policy.. this has probably been discussed before, which i apologize for now if it has.. the obvious view that most of us make as to why the gb are so reluctant to comply with the authorities by revealing their database around child abuse allegations, is that the leadership at watchtower hq likely were trying to safeguard the reputation of the organisation.. however, (just a theory) are they hiding something more sinister which could in effect devastate the organisation ie could it be they are hiding some things within the gb itself, whether it be some individuals within the gb of the past or even present who might have had some serious allegations made against them which the authorities are never going to know about?
i mean why the hell are they going to such lengths to hide everything???.
any thoughts?

Smiddy3 that statement made by Pat leads me to believe it is true
Then I hope she uses what time is left to take advantages of the options still open and available to her to get justice for the wrongs done to her.
