If the Bible is truly the word of God then why are their so many different Translations ?
by smiddy3 innot only are their different translations from different denominations ,like the greek orthodox ,russian orthodox ,roman catholic .various protestant versions and others as well as the nwt of jw`s.. however various denominations print different versions of the bible which fair enough may only be minor differences yet at the same time they are differences to what they previously printed .?.
and some have serious discrepancies .. as if they are trying to get to the true meaning of what god or jesus christ actually said or meant ?.
are they for real ?

The GB's modesty knows no bounds
by neat blue dog insarcasm intended obviously 🙄.
in the intro from the latest ezekiel book:.
as youread through its 22 chapters and meditate on thebeautiful illustrations found therein, you will beamazed at all the careful research that has goneinto its preparation.. they call themselves the faithful and discreet slave, but how discreet is it really to be constantly bragging about yourself?

Geoffrey Jackson the Australian G.B.member who stated under oath at the A.R.C.
" that it would be presumptuous of him to say that Jehovah`s Witnesses were the only religion God was using."
or words to that effect , however meaning the same thing.

Blonde Jokes
by Bangalore inblonde jokes.. two blondes went to the pound where each adopted a puppy.
the joy of their new best friend was quickly overshadowed when they got home and the first blonde said, "i think we're in trouble, how are we going to tell them apart?
" this lead to several hours of concentration until finally, the second blonde said, "i've got an idea.

Are they for real ? God can`t say what he means ? or God can`t mean what he says ?
It rely`s on imperfect humans to decipher thousands of years later to determine what GOD actually said or meant ?
And the WTB&TS /Jehovah`s Witnesses are just as guilty of this as any other Bible organization with their many different translations over the years.
If I make a statement or give an oratory today about a certain subject do I need a dozen or so experts to analyze , scrutinize every syllable I said and come up with what I meant to say in a dozen different ways ?
I don`t think so.
If the Almighty GOD the CREATOR of the UNIVERSE can`t say what he means in the first place well then what hope have we.

Thirteen Counties Where Apostasy is a Capital Offense..
by Room 215 inyou gotta wonder just how well jws are doing in "fulfilling their commission" in afghanistan, iran, malaysia, maldives, mauritania, nigeria, pakistan, qatar, saudi arabia, somalia, sudan, united arab emirates and yemen.

Correct me if I`m wrong but I don`t think I am.
Fourteen countries that are under Islam/Muslim control that have the death penalty for proselytizing against Islam.
So no Jehovah`s witnesses living in any of those countries can go door 2 door witnessing because they would come across Muslims and warrant the death penalty .
So in those countries they only witness to known non Muslims such as Hindus , Buddhists ,and Sikhs , or Christians that live their.
So the only witnessing they do in those lands are incidental witnessing and that only to non Muslims right ?
So its a correct "truth" that HALF OF THE WORLD OF MANKIND HAS NEVER EVER BEEN WITNESSED TO IN OVER 100 YEARS of preaching by Jehovah`s Witnesses.
So much for "This good News Will Be Preached In All The Inhabited earth" bullshit.

The sinking of the Laconia two part BBC series
by smiddy3 ini have just finished watching this program and found it quite disturbing in the sense that both sides of the war effort had so little regard for human life .. it might sound strange to say that in time of warfare when civilian casualties are rife on both sides ,however i think this is an exception.. except for the courage and heroic efforts of the german commander of the u-boat who tried and helped so many people to survive.. werner hartenstein.
his name should be honored by all the nationalities he saved.. and i was appalled by the americans who bombed the submarine on the surface of the water with a red cross flag in full view with civilians on deck and lifeboats in tow with many more civilians on board.. i think this was an exceptional incident in a time of war that both sides should have given way..

The effect Crisis of Conscience has...
by pleaseresearch inwould love to read this book one day and give it to my mum and brother who are both in the organisation.. so many people i see on videos claim that this book was the nail in the coffin.
but do you know anyone where it had no effect on them?.

I`m afraid I was one who read it while I was still a believer and I just put it down as a disgruntled family member of Fred Franz who didn`t feel appreciated enough .
The book that had the biggest impact on me was Don Cameron`s "Captives Of A Concept" which I learned was a phrase taken from CofC.

Review: Apostasy
by neat blue dog instan's recent post about the apostasy movie reminded me that i had watched it last month, so i thought i'd write a review.
please note this will probably contain some spoilers so if you care about that sort of thing hold off on reading this.. first i want to say that this is probably one of the most if not the most accurate and reasonable cinematic portrayals of jws.
however here is a list of little inaccuracies: an outdated view that preaching to all the world can 'make' the end come, jesus briefly portrayed with long hair, judicial reinstatement meetings being called "guidance meetings", a normal weekly public talk being introduced as "the first in a series of talks he's prepared for us", applause at the end of a local needs part, and a jw saying of god "you need to earn his love, it's conditional" ( i know this is basically true in practice but they'd rarely say it out loud).

I have since watched "Apostacy" and I believe you have done a good job reviewing it nbd .I highly recommend any who have not seen it to do so.
Kudos to all those responsible for its production and performing in it .
