Isnt it a misnomer to call it a public talk ? In my 33 years of being an active JW I could count on my one hand how many of the public ever attended a public talk and I would not use any finger more than once ?

i had a binder with every public talk listed by number in it.
i don't have it anymore.. when i did the fade in 2002 after 33 years a slave since 1969. i destroyed all my watchtower materials and i had a lot.

Since no one knows your real names (and I'm not asking for them) how can you have "fear and paranoia" about being found out?
Good point ,I`m thinking more about newbies and lurkers who are still very much "in" because of family & friends who might inadvertantly post something that may identify them in a general post .
Fair enough as you say just acknowledging they visit the site should be no problem .

Mentally diseased ANOINTED!
by Normalfulla inmy aunt is a super uber jw, albeit a little more delusional than the standard issue jw.
she has 4 kids all who are out and never baptised, she's a widow now and sold the family home and has bought a new place and has plenty of cash in the bank.
my cousins are all very concerned because their mum has a new friend whos "anointed" and says jehovah has spoken to her and she will survive armageddon and so will her kids if she sticks close.. she has been paying out for holidays and vehicle repairs for this anointed sister and her extended family and my cousins are alarmed at whats going on and can see the situation for what it is.

Isnt their some governmental dept. in your area where you or your cousins can alert that your elderly Aunt is being conned ? and taken advantage of ?

The End of World War 1 was Exactly 100 Years Ago

and in just a few more hours, at 11:00am on 11 november 2018, paris time, the combat actually stopped!
(the war wasn´t officially over until 1919).it is such a historic moment, for the entire world, but also for jw´s, and for exjw´s.for almost the entire length of the war, the witnesses thought that the war was the prelude to armageddon.

I.B.S.A. International Bible Students Association with C.T.Russell as their founder and his successor J.F.Rutherford who then changed their name to what he termed a more Biblical name to Jehovah`s Witnesses quoting Isa.43 :10-12..
Most likely little did he know back then that it was a Catholic Spanish Monk of the 13th Century that came up with the name Jehovah when he used the four letters of the Hebrew Tetragrammaton and translated those four Hebrew letters into Latin ,then English with JHVH then inserting a few vowels came up with the name Jehovah.
So Jehovah`s Witnesses today are unknowingly worshiping a Catholic named God Jehovah .
When in reality the more correct translation of those 4 Hebrew letters of the Tetragrammaton would be Y H W H namely Yahweh .
As their was no "J" sounding name in Hebrew .

I trust you new boy as you have been on this site for donkeys years 17 and have posted some 1424 times if I read it correctly .
However I don`t think many are going to respond to your invitation because of fear and paranoia especially the lurkers and newbies and even old timers like myself.
But I am curious ,what do you hope to achieve with this post ? Is it a test of some kind ? Do you really expect many to respond ?
Just curious ., I know they say "curiosity killed the cat" and I say live dangerously.You only live once .

Movies that make you cry?
by new boy inthere have been many but i had a total melt down at the end of sophie's choice.
i hadn't cried in years before i saw that movie in in 1982. i was still very much a jw at the time.
i have no idea where the pain and sorrow came from, maybe it was the fact there are things people have gone through that we have defied all reason logic.

Can you ever see a time when Govt`s of this world will attempt to abolish all religions ?
by smiddy3 inwe are now in the 21st century of our common era with its insights into the potential of what can be achieved in the near future to benefit mankind for years to come .. the co-operation of governments around the world on so many levels has never been better than it is today and it is at least encouraging to see this .. whether it has to do with the climate , the environment ,food production ,safe water for all ,and the better health for all in the near future, and in the future space exploration.
however the problem today is still religion !
in its many extreme forms that divides us in no ways that politics divide us .. politicians learn how to compromise and work with their opponents for the greater good ,whereas religions don`t.. religions divide humans like no politicians ever did well not to the extremes religions will go anyway.. is their going to come a time in history when governments politicians say enough is enough and try attempt to abolish religion ?.

marked for later listening. For those who don`t know Steven Unthank a guest here sued the Faithful and Discreet slave class in a court of law here in Australia a few years ago and had some success .
, and is active along with some others in getting this message across about the WT / JW religion not protecting JW children in the religion against sexual abusers among other things .
He and his co-workers are travelling around the world getting this message across to all and sundry who will listen .
Notable in that court case J.W`s Lawyers acknowledged that Steven Unthank even though he was suing the religion was not an Apostate and he got a win in having the JW`s getting a "Working With Children Check" that they had objected to getting.
