Do elders still ask inactive members to write a letter to disassociating yourself from the Congregation?
by RULES & REGULATIONS indo today's elders ever meet with inactive members and pressure them to write a letter disassociating themselves from the congregation stating that, ''you no longer wish to a jehovah witness"?.
i was baptized at the young age of 16. after turning 18, i stopped attending meetings, field service, and all jehovah's witness activities.
i wanted to be with my high school friends, go to rock concerts, have a girlfriend, and live like a normal teen.

Do you have any assembly memories/stories?
by RisingEagle inon an earlier thread about ice cream i remembered a snack that was sold at assemblies and that started me thinking about some of my memories of childhood at conventions/assemblies.
i guess it was the taste/smell association because even today when i go to various convention halls for home improvement expos, car shows and the like it takes me right back to the past.
i have many memories wrapped around the conventions and experienced different things because i have lots of elders in the family that were used, literally, for food service, the accounting office, security and dramas.

The brother who converted me gave an experience of converting me at a CA in St Albans ,a suburb of Melbourne
around Nov 1960 when My then GF and I were Baptised ,so that we could be married in a KH in 1961.
He took so long about it that the brother after him who was supposed to give his experience didn`t get a chance to.

i did pre-assembly work in my home town, this was obviously voluntary unpaid work.

JW's will NOT like the first months of life in the Paradise! (University Research)
by fulltimestudent inhave you ever wondered (when you were an active believer) what life would be like immediately after the big a?.
in my experience of the pre-big a spiritual paradise most witnesses were aware of the problem posed by the dead bodies of those slain by the bloody minded, would-be mass murderer jesus.
most liked to quote the author of the revelation, that carrion birds would eat the carcasses.

How would Jw`s in America survivors like the G.B. communicate with Jw`s survivors in the pacific islands ? Africa ,Siberia , Tasmania , or some other isolated place on earth ?
How would JW`s cope with
no gas
no electricity
no sewrage
no running water
no refrigerators
no tv
no movies
no aeroplanes
no transport
no food bowls to supply food markets
no food markets
no dairy farms
no cheese makers blessed as they may be
The list is endless of things that will not exist after Armageddon that J.W`s take for granted in today`s world.

Children addressing adults as brother or sister
meat in due season
JW`s don`t have a clergy Laity class : G.B. ,D.O. ,C.O. , Elders , M.S. , etc.,etc.,
Except in a court of Law. Then they claim Clergy Penitent privilege .

Their must be a few others on here if not plenty of them that must be wondering if they are officially DA ,LOL
Why ? because when I DA`d myself many years after leaving the Borg I was never contacted back again to verify my action and since i had moved to another state that they knew of I wonder if it was ever announced from the platform.?
Not that I really give a rats arse
Just saying

Jehovah's Witnesses... Who/What is the Holy Spirit?
by JW Answers inthe jehovah's witnesses claim that the holy spirit is none other than a force... however when we compare scripture with scripture, we begin to see that the holy spirit is a person.as the jehovah's witnesses dispute this, the question still remains..."who/what is the holy spirit?".
the holy spirit can :.
be grieved.

All you guys are awesome and i appreciate all including newbies that contribute to this site to make it what it is .
A place where JW`s who have doubts can come and voice their concerns and ask questions without being grilled for having doubts and asking questions by Elders.
And I`m positive many newbies are a result of sites like this where they can get satisfying answers to questions they raise .
Kudos to you all .
