i imagine someone has done this already, but i couldn't find it in a search.
feel free to move to another thread if i'm posting in the wrong one.. i've been watching leah remini's scientology show (eerily very similar psychological traits to jw's) and one episode talked about how australia now requires non-profit organizations to make their finances public, so i decided to look for jw's reports.. link to jw's reports:.

jehovah's witnesses... who sent the star of bethlehem?.
the watchtower teach their followers that the star of bethlehem was sent by non other than satan... however as we take a look at the scriptures by comparing spiritual things with spiritual we begin to see that the star of bethlehem was not sent by satan, but used for the glory of god.a seasonal message to end the year.. watch now here :.
A Star as seen in the night sky anywhere on earth is a Sun millions and billions of light years away from earth.
Much like our Sun only bigger or smaller but still giving off light and heat .
They do not move across the sky as depicted in the biblical account ,it just didn`t occur .
after 24 years of active service as a witness my marriage came to an end causing massive trauma.during this tragic life event for a period of approx 8 months i went haywire.
drinking.
partying.smoking.i was disfellowshipped.i met a wonderful non witness along the way and am remarried.what i don't get is this.if an announcement was made that i am no longer a jehovahs witness then why does the bible principle in corinthians about not even greeting he who calls himself a brother still apply.
When Peter asked Jesus how many times he was to forgive his brother sinning against him Jesus replied not up to seven times but seventy seven times Matt.18: 21,22.
So how much more should/would Jesus forgive sinners ?
So instead of DF people they should be helping them to overcome such transgressions of their religious beliefs as they see it and not blackmail them into submission as what they attempt to do now.
Luke 17 :3 ,4 .if your brother commits a sin rebuke him and if he repents forgive him .Even if he sins 7 times a day and he comes back to you seven times ,saying I repent you must forgive him .
Are Jehovah`s Witnesses given this option ?at a Judicial meeting ? are they even aware of this option ?
i shared one of these before in which my approach left something to be desired, and i got some flack for that, and rightly so.
so if this story doesn't go over well i won't share another... but given how it ended, i just had to share.... a few days ago i took a trip to a nearby city by bus.
in the about 20-30 minute window between my connecting buses i walked over to a mcdonald's and got a cup of coffee, and when i came back to the little bus station i saw a literature cart sitting unmanned near the doors.
Well i think you did pretty damned good jp considering it was likely spontaneous and off the cuff.
We can all sit back after the event and say maybe you should have done this or said that ,like I said you done well.
Why should we pussy-foot around with them anymore , with all that`s gone on in the organization these past years and they are still in denial they need some hard hitting blunt truth`s to wake them up.
keep up the good work
and take care .

How in the world would a star in the sky lead you anywhere ? It could lead you to a million places on earth .
This is one of the most ridiculous scriptures in the Bible .
I challenge any of you to go out on a cloudless night and pick a star and imagine it moves somewhere and see if that identifies a particular specific place on earth .
If you can do that tell me what lotto numbers I can expect next Saturday night .
the bible students and the christadelphians have a lot in common.. i searched on facebook... .
and look what i found:https://www.facebook.com/christadelphianbiblestudents/.
there´s even a group named like that..
Their were so many religious groups that sprung up in the 1800 `s in America that had to do with the return of Jesus Christ and the End of The World .
Christadelphians as a religion was founded by John Thomas in the early 1800`s and they did have similar doctrines that JW`s adopted decades later.
Was Charles Taze Russell influenced by the teachings of John Thomas ? who came before him ? who knows .
i found out a couple of weeks ago that friends who i haven’t seen for over 20 years left the watchtower two years ago.
and it’s having a ripple effect on their friends who are in.. i was also going to post on the thread about posters who’ve left but it seems to have been locked!.
i have been very busy these last few years, working on my hobbies, writing articles and books and haven’t had much time for jw activism.
Another book by an ex JW ,
I think is a good thing and I also look forward to reading it. Hopefully it gives a different slant as to what has previously been published maybe highlighting the Child Sexual Abuse Scandals that are coming to light around the world by Jehovah`s Witnesses that are calling at the homes of unsuspecting householders exposing their children to a potential Pedophile .
A chapter on that issue would be great.
i'm not sure how best to ask this question because of my personal experience-- long story short, i was discovered through informal witnessing back in college.
i was lonely, away from family, and was touched by the attention and care that was shown to me.
during the course of many years i became very very close with the sister conducting the study even though we were thousands of miles away.
And that`s the difference between you and her ohnightdivine , your love for her is unconditional ,however her "love" for you was conditional .
You are by far the better person . Don`t sell yourself short .
Take care .

But I cannot shake off the feeling that I was, after all, just another one of her potential converts.
That`s it in a nutshell, and you are not alone in coming to that conclusion.
Welcome to the real world .
She told me that she has given plenty of advice to me for so many years and that it depends on me acting on what I know is the right thing to do
That says it all , in other words if you can`t commit to being a JW after all I have done for you ,then you are a lost cause .
Don`t contact me again .
Read between the lines ohnightdivine.
if i was an author of a book i think i would be over the moon if i was guaranteed a sale of around 5 million or more books for my work.. the jehovah`s witnesses have over 8 million members plus relatives that are fringe dwellers who come to the memorial once a year ,.
so what a gold mine they have been sitting on as a publishing house .. why didn`t they keep publishing books for the faithful ,they could have even upped the price , and the faithful would have paid especially in prosperous country`s in the west.. they could have milked this venture for years to come as the faithful would have bought anything they would have published .. and their prophets (profits) would have soared ,literally and figuratively for many more years to come ..
