Simon's Forum Is More Than Just a Forum!

simon's forum is much more than just a forum where we come to expose the watchtower.

it is a place that simon wanted people to be able to come to, to receive help, support, or find a compassionate listener.. this forum has exposed the watchtower more times than any forum on the net.

I am grateful to Simon, Ange , and his team of mods for all the work they do in keeping this site running all of these years.

And i am also very grateful to all of those who contribute to this forum with the wealth of information ,facts and knowledge that I have received in more than the 10 years I have been here .smiddy 1,2,3.

I have learnt more about the JW/WT here than I ever did being a Jehovah`s Witness for 33 years.

I am 79 years old and my wife 76 yrs, who doesn`t post here but supports me and we too have our health problems ,but that is to be expected now. Every year above ground is a bonus.

And I appreciate the fifth column movement still in the organization that leak out to us secret classified information we wouldn`t otherwise be aware of...Thank you.

New witness a bit lost

im sorry if i'm wrong but i'm just trying to find my way and meet people that could help me become a good witness.

i recently discovered my faith as a witness.

Before you commit yourself to becoming a Jehovah`s Witness do a little research yourself,to save you from a lot of heartache .

Nowhere in the New Testament ,or as the JW`s like to call it the christian Greek scriptures are followers of Jesus ever called upon to be a witness for Jehovah ,nowhere not one scripture.

However their are over twenty scriptures in the New Testament that admonish followers of Jesus Christ to be witnesses of,for,and about Jesus.

In Phillipians 2: 9-10 clearly states that the name Jesus is above every other name in heaven on earth and under the ground, and that every knee should bend to ( in worship )..... not Jehovah.

I was a witness for 33 years and it was the biggest mistake I ever made.

Binky Use

i am trying to find the ridiculous beliefs jw had on the use of a binky or pacifier.

i did a search, but can't find it, i know others have referenced it on here.

i'm trying to share with my husband; we're talking about the stupid doctrines they came up with in the early years.. thanks!.

I can`t help you with what you ask about binky or pacifier , but how about the calendar put out by the Society with new names for months and days if I remember correctly.?

It didn`t take on of course .

some time ago i stumbled across a book by french author gerard gertoux, about the pronunciation of the tetragrammaton.

The Greek form of the divine name, JAO, was used by Jews in and around the first century, as discussed in the book "The Earliest Non-Mystical Jewish Use of IAW";

That Greek form of the divine name is not found in " The kingdom Interlinear Translation Of The Greek Scriptures",which presented under the Greek text revised by Westcott and Hort (1948 reprint) A literal word for word translation into English.

Published by the WTB&TS in 1969.

By all means correct me if I am wrong . I am going by memory alone as I do not have a copy of that book anymore.

In the book "Your Will Be Done On Earth" they pointed out that the KON was the U.S.S.R and that the KOS was the Anglo-American world power .

And that was fullfillment of prophecy no more interpretation was needed .

Library now cleared out

well, it looks like the axe has finally fallen on our kh library.

during a deep clean of the local kh, a brother suddenly informed everyone 'whikst cleaning' that all the old books including bound volumes of the watchtower etc was to be chucked in the skip.. from what i heard, some were taken aback by this and quite annoyed that no announcement was made; that no one was given the choice of taking some of these books home to keep.

i mean the entire collection of studies in the scriptures and others that go back an entire century.

My suggestion is to sus out 2nd hand shops , and opportunity shops as we call them in Australia ,where families of deceased persons donate their belongings and bargain hunt shoppers can pick up goods for a fraction of the price you would pay at a retail shop.

And sometimes almost brand new .

I managed a senior Citizens OP shop a few years ago when somebody had donated a series of WT videos from a deceased relative but when i got back from a break of a few days a co-volunteer had binned them , he didnt like JW`s.

So that is a place where you might find some gems .

they are barely keeping up with the birthrate!

so basically the org spent millions of dollars on their website and broadcasting so the only growth they are still getting comes from born ins and illiterate and superstitious folks from africa.

Without actually witnessing to anyone .

hey i’m back i know it’s been a long time since i’ve posted on the form but a lot things have been happening so i haven’t had much time to post.. ive been 14 for awhile now makes me happy because i’m getting closer to being able to get a job and work my way out of this.. i have meetings on saturdays now which is horrible because i rather have it on sunday because it’s already a sad day because i got to go to school the next day.three of our public talks have had different brothers saying the same thing talking about the signs of the end days.the thing that gets me is when they always try and bank on the earthquake part i mean i’m really into science so i already knew a lot about plate tectonics sea floor spreading etc but you get taught this in school.with plates always moving divergent convergent transform etc there will be earthquakes it’s the effect of plates moving against or rubing on each or going back into the mantle(subduction zones) it happens.so when there’s a report in japan of a lot of earthquakes it must be the end times!no japan is located on four plates it’s going to experience big earthquakes.. i don’t know that just gets under my skins when they try and say it’s the end days because of the earth having natural things happen like plate tectonics is something that’s been happening recently no we might have gotten our hands on the technology to spot earthquakes recently but this has been happening for millions of years.. speaking of years i hope you all have a great 2019 and i’ll definitely post more of my thoughts this year..

Same Talks Again and Again

O.K. AKid48 you sure sound like a mature 14 year old and have been given sound advice and support on here and seeing you don`t have much legal status as a minor until you reach the age of 18 ? which is another 4 years away , I hope you have the patience to bide your time , not upset your mom too much or cause any rift in your relationship with your mom because of your seeing TTATT but your mom hasn`t yet.

Maybe she will in the future maybe she wont.

And as another poster said ,do not get baptized under any circumstances .keep deferring it
