  i have been studying with jehovah's witnesses for approximately two years.

  initially, i liked the studies and felt that i was growing closer to god.

  however, as the studies progressed, they seemed to become increasingly negative and i did not like what i was being taught.

  You are your own person ,do what you want to do and not what you think others want you to do .

  stand up for yourself .

  Was Russell "that" Faithful and Wise Servant?

  "thousands of the readers of pastor russell's writings believe that he filled the office of 'that faithful and wise servant,' and that his great work was giving to the household of faith meat in due season.

  The WTB&TS speak out of both sides of there mouth as do Jehovah`s Witnesses today who are mainly made up of gullible ,intellectual lazy people who want to be told what to believe and not do any research for themselves .

  i was hoping to get some advice on what to say to a parent who wouldn’t support you to get married to a “worldy person”.

  always bringing up “marry only in the lord” even when that hasnt worked out for the parent, twice divorced lol.

  is there a way to discredit that scripture or argue back respectfully without giving away that you are pimo?.

  In reality, to be

  "married in the Lord" ,could mean you could be yoked together with anyone in / of 40,000 Christian Religions ?

  and you would still be adhering to ,not violating scripture.

  Do you think local Govts. tolerate religions / cults such as JW`s simply because of the money they can generate with conventions etc.?

  i`m thinking about major conventions held by jw`s either nationally or internationally .they must be a big boost to the local economy when they are held .. think about the major international conventions held by jw`s over the years .

  yankee stadium / polo grounds being one of the major ones ,though its not just confined to the jw`s ,billy graham crusades , and of course the pope`s visits to various countries.. and are they culpable or should they be for promoting these events to occur under there watch ?.

  i mean as an extreme illustration or two here would such govts.

  Think about the major international conventions held by JW`s over the years . Yankee Stadium / Polo Grounds being one of THE major ones ,though its not just confined to the JW`s ,Billy Graham Crusades , and of course the Pope`s visits to various Countries.

  I mean as an extreme illustration or two here would such Govts. OK a convention of white supremacist groups ? or an anti Semitic group in there locality ? Just to get more dollars in the community ?

  so the watchtower is getting close to 50. i think there are about 44 of them listed here.

  You have given them hours of YOUR time that they report monthly.

  In other words they have wasted your time by not being up front with you that it is/was there goal to get you baptized into there religion .

  Don`t feel guilty about it.Once you stop associating with them at meetings they will drop you like a sack of potatoes showing there true colours.

  Lawsuit against the Watchtower for child abuse issue accepted in Quebec(Canada)

  hi everyone, i got the news that the lawsuit against the watchtower for the child abuse issue has been accepted in quebec(canada).

  that means it can proceed further.

  it is a first victory.

  Rattigan350 ,I do agree that it is the responsibility of parents and family members to report child sexual abuse when they become aware of it ,however they are often hindered from doing so by the Elders because it will bring reproach on Jehovah`s name and his organization (Jehovah`s Witnesses )

  Elders in there judicial committees handling such cases are privy to details of such sexual abuse that makes it a moral and ethical issue that they should report it to the local authorities to not only protect the victim but also any other child in the congregation not to mention children in the congregations territory .
