  I was a JW for 33 years and along with my wife we potentially brought 8 family members in the "struth" never a person in our D2D ministry .

  Thankfully all are out except 1 niece who shuns us all.

  I`m sure there are millions like us who went from D2D for many ,many years and never brought one person into the "struth" in the D2D work.

  If I was Jehovah/Jesus I would sack all of the GB for not getting the job done and producing results that matter in preaching in all of the inhabited earth and making disciples .

  They have failed dismally in not preaching in all of the inhabited Earth and they have failed dismally in converting many people in there D2D work.

  The bulk of there baptisms nowadays are from family members and not worldly converts .

  Maybe it could be worse...

  so i just watched a documentary on netflix called "the end of the world cult" about some geezer named wayne bent (self proclaimed as michael travesser).

  some of the stuff this guy says is absolutely unbelievable, and made me seriously think that there are some god awful cults out there, and made me think my time in the jw's (however boring and restrictive) wasn't all so bad... has anyone else seen this?

  does anyone have any recommendations on other documentaries of the like??

  Leaving Neverland the Micheal Jackson documentary

  leaving neverland the micheal jackson documentary was just released and i must say watching it myself left me pretty disgusted but not necessarily surprised.. being that there is two accounts given by two separate boys, men now, leaves the impression that their stories are truthful and factual.. what one can take from this story is that mj was a megalomaniac that thought he had the power, money and personal stature to get away with just about anything he wanted, this included pedophilia with boys.

  i wonder if the over oppression restrictive nature of being brought up a child in the jws religion had an effect to his loose out of control behavior of a super rich celebrity ?.

  his celebrity status and wealth really came to him when he was a pubescent young boy/teen, money in such a huge amount made anything he wanted or could afford possible.. personally i think he was inherently gay and had pursued arranged marriages to protect his perceived public image, a pretentious act which was mostly devised as a money and business endeavor .

  Didn`t one or both of these guys now claiming they were molested by MJ at one time defended him and denied that MJ had molested them ?

  Why after all this time and now that MJ is dead and can`t defend himself have these allegations surfaced ? by those that defended him before ?

  Not meaning to be cynical ,but is there $$$$$$ to be had here ? with this doco and those involved ?

  Following a motion that was adopted in the House of Representatives on 3 July 2018, as researchers at Utrecht University we conduct an independent investigation into experiences with sexual abuse within the Dutch Jehovah's Witness community. We investigate the way in which people who report within the community are treated. Among other things, we examine whether the closedness in the community of Jehovah's Witnesses contributes to whether or not to report experiences with sexual abuse.

  today the 6-3-2019 .

  the attorney general for the state of victoria, australia is to push legislation that will require priests to report any confession that reveals child abuse.. will elders be required to do so?

  We can only hope so zeb that Elders ,clergy ,pastors ,priests,have a mandate to report child sexual abuse when they learn of it or face the consequences,hopefully a jail sentence .

  so i was talking with my husband about all the things the organization is doing ie.

  hiding pedophiles, lying about what 1914 was etc.

  so his response was that the nation of israel had times when they weren’t doing the right thing, but it was still gods chosen organization.. another topic we were talking about was disfellowshipping.

  Picking up on what TFG said is your husband aware that the F&DS class is only a "Theocratic Arrangement" and that no individual GB members make up the faithful slave ?

  When Steven Unthank tried to sue WT in a court of law that was their response .There are posts about that case.

  Also if God picked the"Bible Students" back in 1919 on the basis of what they believed and taught back then ,he would have to reject them now simply because they don`t believe anymore what they taught and believed back then ?

  Good luck with enlightening him .

  i have been studying with jehovah's witnesses for approximately two years.

  initially, i liked the studies and felt that i was growing closer to god.

  however, as the studies progressed, they seemed to become increasingly negative and i did not like what i was being taught.

  Maria Nieves, could it be that you are a very sensitive person and and have very low self esteem ? about yourself ?

  I do not mean to be provocative or upset you in any way ,however I think you are worrying far too much about how your actions will affect your bible Study conductor / mentor than you are about how this situation unfolds and affects your feelings and mentality .

  You need to look after your own well being and other people will look after there own ,and they will do so ,sometimes at your expense .

  Do not be duped ,JW`s have a goal of getting people baptised into there religion ,once they realise you are not going down that path they will drop you like a sack of potatoes, unless they think they can work on you to reel you in like a fish on a hook,

  There friendship with you is conditional , once they realise you don`t want to be a JW they will drop you like a hot potatoe

  i agree it sounds more like an Assembly Hall ,but what does that indicate ? Surely that the WT is in trouble somewhere along the line .

  Ok I can see getting rid of some Kh`s but not Assembly halls so soon after they have been built ?

  Churches of Christendom have lasted for Centuries in one religion or another and Jehovah`s Witnesses sell there KH`s / Assembly`s off after a decade or two ?

  Frank Sinatra was a morally corrupt person yet you cannot deny nor ignore his gift as a singer.

  I can separate the man or woman from their art.

  If I decided to judge a person’s morals in order to enjoy music, arts or entertainment, I wouldn’t be enjoying too much of anything.
