I wish you and your wife success in giving your presentation at the local university dubstepped of course i know you will highlight how JW`s / GB frowns upon higher education ,that shouldn`t go down too well with a university campus .

Do Jehovah`s witnesses even THINK for themselves anymore ?

All and any scriptures JW`s use to manipulate the rank & file to doing what "THEY" want them to do are over 2000 years old ,it might have applied back then in some small measure ,but it certainly has no bearing whatsoever on anything to do with today .

JW`s Religion are being investigated by { how many} ? Countries for there handling of Child sexual Abuse .?

i`m thinking about the last couple of years but more importantly there seems to be a greater number in the past year than never before .. off the top of my head i think i could name about 6-10 countries.. does anybody have any stats on this ?.

and is it only the issue of child sexual abuse that governments / countries are focused on or are their other issues that they are being investigated for ?.

such as charitable status ,do they really qualify ?

Thank you for that update flipper and I look forward to hearing / seeing more about the outcomes of this event and what it will mean for the survivors.

The more publicity the better ,the Catholic church gets a lot of media coverage because its such a large organization ,however I`m inclined to think JW`s are in some ways worse because of the ratio difference .

Just my 2 cents worth.

The definition of insanity as applied to Jehovah`s Witnesses ,

"saying the same thing over and over and over again and not getting any results " with regard to Armageddon and the great tribulation .

I mean to say how many times since Russell came on the scene with his Watchtower and his predictions and all of his successors since have they predicted the big "A" and the "GT" ?

I have lost count .

And sadly to say what does that say about the mentality of all those who still follow the Governing Body leading this religion ?

as we get older , we tend to feel the aches and pains or some tiredness like never before.. i have some friends who are in excellent condition and i’ve asked what their secret was.. some swear by cbd oil as a cure all for aches and localized pain.

greek yogurt is a natural food that can attack gut fat as does taking probiotics.

have you found anything that makes you more energized?

Being of a mature age 79 and having a postrate problem ,once I was put on to Duodart capsules 500 ug / 400 ug taken 1 capsule daily ,my life improved dramatically .

I hope this benefits someone here who might be suffering from this problem .

But of course check with your doctor beforehand.

Its worked wonders for me.

When you were an active JW, did you ever have dealings with a pyramid scheme?

i'm not sure why this memory popped up, and i was wondering if any others, when they were still active jw had dealings with a pyramid scheme involving other witnesses in the organization?

at the time it was 1993, and my husband and i were still newlyweds.

once in a while, we would attend a neighboring congregation because that was where he grew up, and some of his family was still attending there at the time.

I had a couple of encounters with a brother and a sister that was involved with different types of weight loss schemes.

The "sister" was rather plump and overweight and tried to entice my wife into the scheme ,I tactlessly told her that it didn`t seem to be doing her much good .

And the "brother" who had a beer belly that any drinker would be proud of as having your own private keg wore a T-shirt that said "Lose weight ? Ask me how"

That was a great source of amusement for me.

Their was also a couple ex missionaries who ran a hair removal salon using electrolysis ,what a scam that was that many witnesses fell for.

so i’m just reading the part in ray franz book “crisis of conscience” about the 1925 prediction of “millions now living will never die”.. ofcourse all witnesses are very familiar with this campaign.

yet none of us ever had an issue with it, including myself.

since the booklet was published in 1920, we are one year away from 100 years from that time.

JW`s have a history of about 140 years ,a history that they keep revising and are embarrassed by their early publications .

Catholics have a history of about 1700+ years and I`m not aware that they have ever revised there early history .

The catholic church acknowledge there past mistakes and own up to them .

The GB of JW`s don`t own up to anything and never admit to past mistakes .

Just my observations.
