I agree with it for terminally ill patients that are suffering painfully and /or are going into a vegetable state where they will have no control over there bodily functions ,they should be able to end there life in a dignified way .

Who is the Saviour?
by JW Answers inthis is for those who are interested in bible study.. the jehovah's witnesses claim that only the father is god, and thus teach he was the saviour in the old testament.
the bible teaches that god says "there is no saviour beside me".
therefore how is it, that the lord jesus christ is called the saviour of the world?.

Why is it that after 2000 years after the last books of the Bible were written it is imperfect infallible men/women who defend and explain what was written back then ,but we hear nothing ,not a peep out of God himself .
And there has been so much controversy over what this or that scripture actually means according to imperfect human beings and still God is silent .
And with all of the new state of the art technology we have today surely the creator of the universe could simply explain what his purpose is to ALL OF HUMANITY and not just a select few .?
He could state what he wants of humans utilizing the many forms of media ,print, digital, social, such as all that exist today ,radio ,Tv, etc, etc, .
Their is no excuse for GOD / JEHOVAH not to inform the people of the world what he requires of them by the technologies that are now available .
Instead of leaving it to a pathetic group who are still relying on 2000 year old tactics.
Is he prejudiced biased about certain races ?

Jehovah's Witnesses: A Coercive Organization?
by john.prestor inso in sociology we divide organizations up into three categories or types, you got utilitarian, voluntary, and coercive.
utilitarian means people join to accomplish some purpose like selling food or making furniture, voluntary means they join up just for fun or to hang out with people like the freemasons or a lot of churches, and coercive means they don't really want to be there but they gotta because someone will punish them if they leave, so labor camps, armies, or prisons.. in a paper i wrote for a class a while back i argued that jehovah's witnesses should be seen as a coercive organization.
yeah, people join up and they do leave, nobody beats you up if you stop attending or preaching, nobody imprisons you, shoots your dog, kills your kids that kind of thing, and nobody makes you join up either.

Last act as an elder
by silas hobbs ini was just reminiscing about the last thing i did as an elder.
after a painful awakening due to family matters,,deleted as an elder due to what i now have come to realize is normal children trying to be more than just zombie tag alongs who don't make problems for their parents and want to explore their talents and intellect.
mistakes and difficulties arise in families but real families do not resort to draconian measures when hormonally influenced children want to take a different path.

The GB watchtower religion have no idea / nouse of what happens to youths developing into teenagers and what they are going through coming to terms with all of these conflicting emotions and hormonal changes they are going through .
They are young and of course they will make mistakes ,however the religion expects them to be perfect and make no mistakes then DF them or publicly reproves them .making examples of them and shaming them in front of the congregation.
Instead of helping them and guiding them through these troubling times they throw them under the bus.
No wonder the JW youth are leaving in droves and are leading double lives .
Then again maybe its a good thing providing the young ones see`s the lack of love and compassion and leaves the organization.

I`m sorry my friend but their is no way many if any people are going to read such a long post and comment on it .
break it down to just a couple of paragraphs and maybe over some time a day or two cover more of what you want to say .but nobody is going to wade through all of that in one hit .
I just took one look at it and thought "holy hell"?

Is social media to blame?
by joey jojo ini haven't seen any posts regarding the atrocity in christchurch and i just wanted to ask a question about social media's role.
is it fair to blame social media giants for giving the offender a platform for his crime?
what are the boundaries that they are expected to police?
-
smiddy3
I tend to agree joey what is the difference between the paparazzi news hounds and those who happen to be on the spot and film it on their phones ? In that sense .
However do we differentiate between what happens in real life violence and tragedy`s as to what we let our kids view and participate in with violent games etc ?with the many forms they have access to ?
Are we de-sensitising our children to violence and its consequences with the games that are available to our young ?
Should we be worried ? THAT WE MAY REAP WHAT WE SOW ?
The argument could be that social media have the same rights as the news media and vice versa.
The whole issue is one that should be debated by society in general so that all can have an input .
It is an important subject.

The ineffectiveness of the Watchtower Society preaching work
by RULES & REGULATIONS inhow can the watchtower society claim effectiveness in their 140 years of preaching the ''good news''..... spending billions of hours in ''field service'', having the ''faithful and discreet slave'' lead the preaching work, passing out billions of watchtower literature since the 1870's, while the pentecostals have been more effective using other evangelical methods?

I don`t think anyone here would dispute the ineffectiveness of the preaching work of Jehovah`s Witnesses .
If we mortal humans can see it then surely Jehovah God & Christ Jesus must be able to see it ?
The statistics they themselves publish or used to publish in their yearbooks testify to that fact.?Does anybody have the latest statistics as to how many hours they preach and how many actual baptisms they have annually nowadays ?
I would like to eliminate children of JW`s if possible because that would give a distorted figure.
My personal opinion is if Jehovah /Christ Jesus look at the hours preached by JW`s to make disciples per year and the actual number of people baptized as a result of their preaching I would sack them for being incompetent .
And give the job to somebody else .
