When did this chaperoning thing start, I never had to do that, I left for good in 1983.

It might have to do with where you live and how the Elders in your congregation viewed such a thing .

It certainly was a big thing in my neck of the woods with my two boys ,one in particular because he was dating a woman who had given birth years earlier in a failed marriage ,and they even though they were a mature couple had to have a chaperone all the time .

Neither of us now know how we put up with such bullshit crap .And I`m talking about the 70`s-80`s time period.

So when it actually began that you had to be chaperoned I don`t really know.

My GF and I when we were first going together and just started associating with the religion never had to have a chaperone .

So it is a good question ?

Most Orthodox Christian churches have a Cross symbolizing it is a place of worship and the buildings in my mind anyway reflect a sense of spirituality and reverence.

On the other hand Kingdom Halls have a blue logo, JW.Org symbolizing it is a place of worship for JW`s .and in my mind at least do not in anyway reflect a sense of spirituality or reverence.

They look more like a community hall where seniors can go to play BINGO !

I was Baptized along with my GF who is now my wife in 1960 ,I DA sometime back however my wife never has ,I`m confused as to what our status is according to the Borg?

Not that i`m worried about it just curious as to how they would view us ?

Are there any other Christian Religions that change their beliefs/doctrines / practices as much as Jehovah`s Witnesses ?

i ask this because of the latest change to baptismal questions that are now to be asked.and the multitude of changes in doctrine and understanding of scripture that have been going on since the founding of this religion in america in the 1840`s by c.t.russell ,and later by j.f.rutherford to be re-named jehovah`s witnesses.. however it seems to me that the older this religion "jehovah`s witnesses" gets the more changes they make in a much shorter time frame .. i can`t imagine any other religion christian or otherwise continually making changes as they do in the relatively short time of their existence of approx.140 years and the bulk of their membership don`t see the red flags and really start questioning what`s going on ?.

this excuse that the" light gets brighter" / " new light" is wearing a bit thin by now surely and is past its use by date.. its making jehovah god and his son christ jesus seem like incompetents in not being able to give a clear direction as to how the organization /jw should proceed in the first place .. you might be able to forgive them once or twice ,but continually over 100 years ?

i don`t think so.. how would it have been if jesus christ had kept changing what he said every few months or so "tacking" this way and that way supposedly to lead you to a truth ,it would be utter confusion as to what he is telling them .. and in the end you wouldn`t believe anything he said..

They sure love their JW.Org logos ? did I count 6 on the one building ?

As for the one in Rotterdam ,The former Reformed Church in Overschie is for sale. This striking building from 1896 is currently still in use as a Kingdom Hall for a meeting for the Jehovah's Witnesses,The church still has the large stained glass windows on one side,

I thought that was interesting ,when a R&F JW has any dealings whatsoever with any of Christendoms Churches how well does that go down ?

I would also be interested to see a photo of the stained glass windows as in churches they usually depict a religious scene........ and they have tolerated one by Christendom in a kingdom hall ?

The mind boggles.

I guess that would depend on the circumstances .

Why are they illegal in the first place ? Do they have something to hide in there past ? That would hinder there becoming Legals ?

Why have they not gone through the legal channels to be a citizen of the country ?

And to answer the OP so long as they are not a threat to anybody or the security of the country I couldn`t give a rats arse.

Eventually they will have to answer for there actions by the authorities when they are discovered which sooner or later they will be.

Isn`t that like asking at what age should a mother stop breast feeding her child ? Surely the parent would and should know when to stop doing these things for the child .

You can`t arbitrarily put an age limit on it as all children are different as to their mental and physical development

occurs.

A little rant about prayer

is god responsible for every good thing that happens in your life?

i ask this because a brother gave a talk several weeks ago and said that.

he said when anything positive happens, we must not assume it was by mere coincidence, but we have to have 100% confidence that jehovah cares for us and was involved.. however, people complain that jehovah doesn’t answer their prayers and are told you have to keep asking, you need to show him you really want it bad.

So maybe just maybe people are saying their prayers to the wrong GOD.

Advice on Disassociating

hello my exjw/pimo/pomo friends,.

i am working on penning my da letter and wondered if i should use it as a tool to maybe wake up individuals as the boe will have to read it.. anyone have any advice on what i should say versus what i should leave out?

i am not going to fade as my family can either be loyal to blood or loyal to a man made religion.

For the life of me I don`t see how YOU disassotiating the JW religion from you gives them control over you ?

You have put yourself in control over them surely.?

YOU have called the shots and not them.

Yes they are strict on all of the above ,and if you break the rules the best that can happen is that you will have to appear before there judicial committee and be counselled and the worst that can happen is that you will be disfellowshipped and then shunned by all of your JW friends and also your family.

Which in hindsight could be a good thing because it might make you wake up to the fact that the JW religion is an American man made cult religion .
