  Justice for animals

  another question.. since animals also were enjoying paradise when adam sinned, they were also deprived of paradise when adam sinned.. how can god allow the suffering of trillions and trillion of living creatures who had nothing to do with the sin of adam and who do not inherit sin from adam?.

  The animals were never created with the possibility of living forever, or so the story goes.
  Abel killed his sheep for sacrifices right of the bat. The Mosaic Law said that animals had to be treated humanely, that is when they were not busy sacrificing them.
  I have always wondered why there is no mention of pets in the Bible. There is the tidbit where Jesus talks about the "little dogs" getting the scraps under the table. Other than that, dogs are always presented in a negative fashion.

  last month my husband and i and our two sons travelled from the uk to visit my family in dayton, ohio.

  while there, i had an eerie experience, one im still not sure what to make of.

  my fathers sister, shirley, was also visiting in dayton while we were there.

  Any athiest tried a Ouji Board?

  i've been told the glass moves around spelling stuff out.

  my brother, before he became a dumbdub said it happened to him - but he was pretty young and probably p'd.

  Yes, Lwood was in the room. He was a kid who had never seen a board before. No, he was not touching it. My husband was not experienced at it either. There were no other people there. I had only used it a few times myself and was not real sure what to expect. There is no way there was any trickery involved.
  Accusing someone of a hoax is calling that person a liar because that is what a hoax is. As I said before, you were not there. You have no business making such judgements.

  Moridin:
  I have been doing a great deal of research into 'Energy Therapy" and from what I have learned I am starting to think that it is our own energy that makes the ouji board work and that is why we have to be touching it. It isn't spirits. That is why it works for some and not for others. People who have psychic experiences like Deja Vu are more successful with the board. Just a developing theory on my part. Not a hoax.

  So I am an "experienced user" who is taking advantage of a newbie. I was working the board with my husband. I suppose he was the newbie and I was trying to fool him. No, it is not a hoax. The Lwood story is true. I am not the type to do hoaxes. I have no patience for people who do. Since you were not there, you have no way of knowing that so you should not be calling me a liar with no proof. I am new to this forum and am still figuring out what everyone is like. I guess I know what you are about.

  Some things that annoy me about the WTS

  i'm still currently a jw myself and i'm serving as a minsterial servant in a limited capacity.

  (a few weeks ago i was vocal about the doubts i've had and the elders made the decision to allow me to stay on as a ms but without giving talks) .

  when my son was 12 I gave him a short hair cut for the summer. He was then counseled for "not having a part in his hair". When he was 16 we recieved a sheparding call to tell us that his double breasted suits were not proper. And they fit too loose. The kid was skinny. Everything he wore was loose. My husband was told that he didn't have enough field service time compared to the amount of time he was spending conducting a Bible study, so he dropped the Bible study. And it goes on and on and on. The stories are endless.

  The BESTEST present ever! (NOT)

  after reading a few threads regarding the upcoming christmas season, i thought i'd post a funny story, and ask you to add to it.. if you've ever received a wacky present, or one you had to pretend that you liked, please post it.. about 5 years ago, when i first started celebrating christmas with hubby, i got a real shocker of a present.

  a deep fryer.. now, hubby was *very* proud of himself.

  you see, about three months prior to christmas we were going through costco (warehouse type store) when i noticed they had a nice little deep fryer.

  I have to just tell my hubby straight out what I want. No hints. Otherwise I will end up with something I will have to sell later at a rummage sale. For him it is always a safe bet to get some sort of power tool. Something with lots of noise. He loves his chain saw.

  especially one of the elder variety, one of those guys what tell people what to do.. think about it, it just isnt natural for a man to be the head of the house .

  Really? In the thirty five years that we have been married, even the thirty years in the borg, my husband never looked at the finances. It was a headache he didn't want. He never 'ruled' the household like some brothers, thank goodness.
  I knew a sister who's JW husband checked for dust with a white glove, even on the window sills. She was not allowed to use the car for shopping. She had to carry the groceries home. Another brother did not allow his wife into the kitchen until she was dressed. No bathrobes in the kitchen! I figured that what those sisters needed was a good baseball bat.

  Target comes from a couple of nasty accidents I was in over the last couple of years. People just seem to run into me like I have a big target painted on my car.
