I shared the info about the UN with my son and daughter-in-law and they took it from there and got out. I also shared it with my best friend and she got out too. So I guess my score is 3, plus my husband.

ok, maybe the word "saved" is inappropriate.... in my case, i would have to count three.
two of my best friends from when i was growing up who initially resisted my questions and apostate leanings but are now free of the borg and have confided it was our conversations that led to their de-programming.
and, my sister, through pretty much the same circumstances.

i had mentioned before, that i'm having a 10 year out of the org party!!!!
to celebrate, i *stole* a copy of the revelation book from my mother, and i planned on sacrificing it in my fire pit, and roasting marshmallows over it.
the book is very well used, underlined, and all that.. since then, there has been nu lite that they're studying this 18 year old book at the book study again.
Ohhh I like Merfi's idea a lot! You can add a lot of comments that could pass for the real thing, but be thought provoking. Maybe even a scripture or two. I wouldn't put in the UN letter because that would be a dead give away and she would suspect what you did.

i have two cats.
brother and sister.
good cats and i love 'em, but the male cat is really clingy.. it's usually no problem, but every time i answer the phone, the male cat immediately jumps on my lap, demanding attention.. it makes it really challenging when i am at the computer, attempting to search files, etc.
our little dog mothers everything, especially the guinea pig. she puts her chin on top of him to protect him. One day I saw her on the patio with her chin on the cement and I knew she had something. I lifted her chin and there was a June Bug she was mothering.
We had a Siamese cat that mothered the hamster and our baby rabbits.
And Rocky, our Corgi mix dog lies on his back and jerks himself up off the floor several times when his back is apparently bothering him.

large numbers of jw congregations are going to be trouble long before they lose their last elder to death or resignation.. most congregations i know have at least one - and often several - elders who can barely function at all, due to illness, old age.
or just plain inability to accomplish anything.
the society seems loathe to remove these men, despite their 'elder in name only'.
We visited a congregation in Arizona when we were on vacation several years ago and right away they wanted to know if we were moving there because they needed elders so badly. Every one they had was so old that they all had to sit down to do their meeting parts. They were worried about suddenly losing them all. By now they are surely all gone. And no, we did not move there.

i am going to start this debate of by saying that those of us who were raised in the so called truth, and i being one of them, can only come to terms with our past by accepting that our parents infected our minds like a virus infects a computer.
we wouldn't categorise children according to their parents' political stance, since they are too young to make up their minds about such matters.
but they (jw) segregate them from the world.
I stopped believing the Bible-hence no need for religion. You are supposed to learn from your mistakes.

i heard about this on the hispanic channel the other night and looked it up just now and found this link.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1609256/posts.
they plan a one day boycott in which they will not spend one cent on that day.
They also do a lot of jobs Americans DO want but for a lot less money. Fast food, motels, even machine shops, construction, are all staffed with Mexicans who work for a lot less. The jobs they can't do are sent over seas.My daughter-in-law's mother has a severely retarded son and the only work she could do was cleaning. Now she cannot do that because the Mexicans do it for so much less. She has to live on what she gets for taking care of her son and that is poverty level. Look at how many trucks are driven by Mexicans and most have phoney ID and no real driver's license. When I lived in Phoenix, they were always running stop signs and red lights and driving drunk. Of course they have no insurance. And then there is the rapidly rising crime rate....
This country is committing suicide.

i am so hooked on this show!!
when i work til 8 i try to get out early!!
last nites show was great!
Here are some neat facts compiled from the internet about TV show Lost.
several areas were marked CVI, CVII and CVIII. Those happen to be Roman numerals for 106, 107 and 108, the last of which is the hatch clock's countdown time in minutes.
While we're on the subject, there was more grist for Lost's numerous numerologists and students of the 4-8-15-16-23-42 sequence:
* The number on the safe deposit box in which Locke's father had stashed the retirement-con cash was 1516.
* The card that Sawyer dealt to Jack from the bottom of the deck was an 8.
* Henry Gale's address on the driver's license was 815. And the ZIP code of his hometown of Wayzata, Minn., is 55391 - which adds up to 23.
Other coincidences (or not): Many readers noticed that the woman whose house Locke is inspecting in his flashback happens to be Nadia (played by Andrea Gabriel), Sayid's old girlfriend from a past flashback. And by the way, both planes that flew close over the Flightline Hotel were - everybody, now - Oceanic Air.
As long as we're talking about Lost's eclectic and growing bookshelf, why was Sawyer reading Judy Blume's pre-pubescent classic Are You There God?
It's Me, Margaret?
In the night's biggest mystery, if Jin is infertile, who - or what - is responsible for Sun's pregnancy? (Sharp-eyed readers note that the name of the corporation that made the pregnancy test, Widmore, has popped up in earlier episodes.) And in possibly the night's smallest mystery, why was Hurley's chocolate bar unmelted?
In response to our continuing request, more than a few eagle-eyed viewers of the most recent new episode (Feb. 15) told us they noticed that the soldier who interrogated Sayid in Iraq was Kate's father, Sgt. Austen (played by Lindsey Ginter), whom we met in a previous flashback. To make sure we'd pick that up, the writers had him pull out a photo of an obviously younger Kate as he asked Sayid if he had a family.
Sharp-eyed viewers responding to our weekly search for clues for the ABC island mystery (Wednesday, 9 ET/PT) spotted one in Sawyer's diner scene. The waitress is Kate's mom, Diane (Beth Broderick), who was introduced in a flashback in November. And the music that Sayid and Hurley picked up on their radio was a big-band tune by Glenn Miller, who was presumed dead after his plane disappeared in 1944.
the washer-dryer in the hatch is much newer than the rest of the furnishings, which sharp-eyed viewers also had noticed. So is there a way that items (and people) continue to move to and from the island?
As Kate visits her adoptive father in an Army recruiting station, Sayid appears on a TV screen; some say he looks like a military prisoner. This type of sighting is reminiscent of the Season 1 episode in which Hurley appeared on Korean TV during Jin's flashback.
Coincidences? We think not.
in the hospital where Shannon's dad died, you see Jack hurrying by in his scrubs. Was Jack's future wife - who was in the hospital after an auto accident - the driver of the SUV that killed him?
108
* It's the number of stitches on a major-league baseball. (This ties into the Yankees' retired-number theories covered earlier.)
* It's a sacred number in Buddhism; a prayer strand traditionally has 108 beads. (This ties into the name of the mysterious island project, the Dharma
Initiative.)
* It's approximately the number of minutes some satellites take to circle Earth.
* The shark that chased Sawyer and Michael on the raft had a Dharma Initiative mark on its fin. Another apparent Dharma logo was at the compound where the new group of survivors was found. (Adrift)
* The actor who played Hurley's boss, Randy (Billy Ray Gallion), played Locke's boss, too - also named Randy. (Everybody Hates Hugo)
* The numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 total 108, which is the number of minutes the computer operator has to reset the counter. (Man of Science, Man of Faith)

my soon to be three year old son asked me yesterday if i was dying.
i was shocked that he knew the word 'dying' and asked where he heard it.
he proceeded to tell me that his aunt (a jw) read him a story about jesus twiste (christ) and jesus was dying.
My two little grandsons came home from their other Grandmother's house, the JW one, and were distraught that they were going to turn into piles of salt. I asked them to explain why they were worried about that and they told me how Grandma Cindy read them a story. So I just kind of brushed it off telling them that it is a fairy tale and not meant to be taken seriously. They seemed much releaved and have never brought it up again. Now they live in a different state than Grandma Cindy and she has been instructed by their parents to not talk religion in any shape or form to the children.
I did not want to get into a battle of the grandmothers so what I said came across as a "clarification" to them that it was a made up story.
