I saw a bumper sticker today that said " I was betrayed by the Baptist Foundation and Aurthur Anderson". Got me thinking. A good bumper sticker gets read by a lot of people. Now we need some good ideas. Any suggestions?

When my neighbor's daughter announced her engagement to a fellow her parent's didn't much care for, the mom INSISTED that they live together for six months before getting married. It had the desired results. After living with him for a few months, the daughter saw what the mother saw and that was the end of that. Now she is happily married to someone else and didn't live with him first. Smart mom.

I take it that you feel that most abortions are being performed on the poor, and if not done, would result in a large number of misfit kids running around. If you look around you will see that the poor keep right on having the kids. It is the middle and upper class that have most of the abortions. Have you any idea what the waiting list is like to adopt an infant? If there are too many people in the world, we could always start killing off the old ones. They have at least had a chance at life. But that would be offensive. They suck up a lot more services than babies and look at the savings there would be on Social Security. Of course I am not advocating such a thing. I am just saying that such a thought is offensive but killing babies is not. I couldn't do either. But then there is my father-in-law.....

As far as tax dollars go, I don't know where most of it goes, I do know a lot of it goes where I wouldn't want it to go. I have enough to do in my life without worrying about that. I make it. They take it. They spend it.
Also, I would not try to stop anyone else from having an abortion or anything else they might want to do that I wouldn't do. It is their conscience (if they have one) not mine. I will give my opinion, but I'm not marching with a sign for anything. (Except an anti WTS movement). If it were on the ballot and I could vote one way or the other, I would vote on the side of the baby's life, after all, the baby doesn't get a vote.

Mommy:
You say that women need a choice. So does the unborn child. I doubt that many would choose to be aborted. It is not easy going through an unwanted pregnancy and then placing the child for adoption, but at least there is never the guilt that you took an innocent, helpless life that was depending on you.
Had abortion been legal many years earlier, many of us would not be here. I know I wouldn't, and then my son (my only child) would not have been born, nor my beautiful little grandsons.
My older brother adopted two children and they were raised in a wonderful, loving home. The women who gave birth to those children showed real love for their unborn children when they knew they could not raise them themselves. It took sacrifice on their part. I admire women like that.
You say you don't know if you would make the same decision again that you have made to have your son. After he is born and you look at the beauty of your child, I'm sure you will know you did what was right
and there will be no doubts.
The argument is often given that women died from illegal abortions and that is why they needed to be legal. A lot of people die from illegal activities. We don't legalize all those activities. And also, the women died because they made the choice to have the abortion. Had they not made that choice, they would not have died. My father's first wife chose to have an abortion way before they were legal. He did not know about her decision. She died from the infection, leaving three small children. The argument I am making is that the problem was not that the abortions were not legal. The problem was that she chose to have one.
Abortion is not always the only option, but it is usually chosen because it is the easiest way out. I have known a few women personally who chose to have the child and place it for adoption. It was not easy. But no one can say they were wrong.

I remember reading once that only 2% of abortions are done for the health of the mother. The rest are because the "mother" does not want to be pregnant. Many women have multiple abortions. I can sympathize with a women not wanting to raise a child because of her circumstances, but then, that is why there is adoption.
For those of us who suffered multiple miscarriages and strongly desired children, it is pretty hard to feel sorry for someone who views their unborn child as just so much tissue to be discarded.

Richfield boy was planning Jehovah's Witnesses visits

Town of Hartford - A 17-year old Richfield boy killed when he drove his car into an oncoming vehicle Saturday was a Jehovah's Witness about to go door-to-door to spread word of his religion, the teenager's father said Monday.
Christopher Zynski, an only child, was traveling on Washington County Highway CC to meet his father and grandmother so they could visit homes together to preach, Robert Zynski, the boy's father, said in an interview.
Robert Zynski said he was supposed to meet his son at Kingdom Hall, a Jehovah's Witnesses meeting place, in Hartford. The father drove separately because he had to pick up his mother-in-law to bring her there, he said.
"He was a good boy. He never gave us a lick of trouble," said Robert Zynski of Richfield. "He helped lots of people. He had lots of friends."
Accident investigators think Christopher Zynski hit a patch of slushy snow that caused him to lose control of his car, Washington County Sheriff Jack Theusch said.
Zynski slid into the opposing lane of traffic and was struck by a car driven by Hilda Winkle, 59, of Jackson.
She was airlifted to Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa. Police said her injuries were not life-threatening.
Investigators concluded that Zynski appeared to be traveling about 50 mph in a 55-mph speed zone, Theusch said. Alcohol apparently was not a factor in the crash, Theusch said.
"It's just one of those things that are tragic," the sheriff said.
Robert Zynski said his son always was a cautious driver.
"He had his seat belt on," Zynski said.
The teenager, who was home-schooled, was about to complete his junior year of high school, his father said.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kingdom Hall, 3642 Kettle Moraine Drive, Hartford. A memorial talk will follow.
The body will be cremated, the father said.
"When we saw him Saturday (before the accident), he was so jolly - and that's the way we want to remember him," Robert Zynski said.
Besides his father, Christopher Zynski is survived by his mother, Margaret.
i was once counselled by the elders for watching 'knots landing'....it became widely known in the congregation that me and a few other sisters would rush home from field service to watch our favourite soapie.
if we missed it, we would ring each other up for an update...or...if we weren't near a tv we would ask someone to put the phone handset on the top of their tv so we could hear it...pathetic huh...but that was all the excitement we could scrounge up in our otherwise dull and uneventful lives.
one of the elder's wive's conscience got the better of her...and she confessed to her husband..lol.
I had given my 12 year old son a short haircut for the summer. He was councelled on not having a part in his hair.

come on admit it, if you were brought up a witness you were dead scared that you were going to end up like the men you saw prowling the assembles and congregations looking for wives.. there would always be men and women in there 30's and 40 who had never had a boy or girl friend.. i used to know quite a few.. the horror of their lives shocks me.. now i not dissing anyone who has chosen not to marry that is their choice.but these people i know want to meet someone and get married.. but the bad news is that the older they get the harder it is to find a wife .what makes it worse is that the choice is so limited.. many of these grown men are even affraid of women .
why?.
because they are taught that even to look at a woman is to commit imorality let alone talk to one.. i knew a brother who had never had a girl friend , he was about 26 at the time.now a sister asks to go out with him so he accepts.quite soon she wants to hold his hand.. this brother now tells her off, for in the family book it says holding hands is only for people who are going to get married.. he doesn't go out with such a spiritually weak sister again.. what has the socity done to these peoples lives.. many people who were once happy teenagers hoping to meet the wife or husband of their dreams are now approaching 40 or even older and have never even had a girlfriend.theri only hope is the new system and i don't want to breack the news to them but its not coming.
There was an older widowed brother who married a middle aged sister.
When they went home to his house, he told her "That is your bedroom down the hall." She was shocked. Weren't they going to sleep together? He said "Of course not. What would my wife say when she is resurrected?"
He wanted someone to cook, clean and do laundry and not have to pay for it. She had the marriage annulled.
A couple of mid 40s virgins back in Wisconsin just got married. It was obvious that they both were settling for what they could get.
It is sad. A lot of them marry people they aren't thrilled about just because the pickins are slim.
