  How many ex-jws move out of town to start over?

  i was wondering how common it is for ex-jws to relocate after leaving the borg in order to escape the bad memories of being in a cult, or to break contact with cult members.. i have wanted to move far away for as long as i can remember--even as a kid--for this purpose.

  various life circumstances have delayed that--long story--but mr. rebel8 and i are thinking of moving within the next few years.

  i am the one who's most interested in moving to a completely different type of place--different culture, different climate, different everything!

  We moved several states away and faded at the same time. It was great to never be running into any jws we knew. The probem was the ones from where we came from that were planning to visit. That was about the time the UN thing happened and I mentioned it to them and lo and behold, they all dumped me like a hot tater None have contacted me since. Got to love it !

  HELP!! ADVICE....Saying NO to pioneering

  i have a female friend who i've been discussing the religion with.

  she definitely has doubts about the org but isn't sure on leaving just yet as she has still got about 6 months to go being a minor dependent on the parents.

  lately, she's been getting heavy pressure to start pioneering.

  What keeps you from killing yourself?

  every once in a while, the whole "futility of life" thing washes over me and something inside of me mentions the suicide option.

  not that it's ever seriously considered, but one of the low-level accounting-types in my head quietly sends around a "worst-case scenario" memo that everyone reads, then dismisses.. after all, things always perk up.

  "but," reminds the pessimistic little guy that should've been fired years ago, "they always go back down, too.

  In a neighboring congregation a young couple was in a car accident and the eight month pregnant wife was killed. She was an only child. The next day her parents were out in field service.

  In our congregation a family lost their son in a car accident. A few weeks later I heard the father telling of the other family's experience and how he admired the parents' faith.

  Only JWs could admire such a lack of emotion.

  just type in your address and you can get a bird's eye view satellite of any home in usa.

  this is much better than google satellite.

  This was most interesting. We just made an offer on a house and it was accepted. When I type in the address of the house, it shows that it is worth $15,000 more than we are paying for it. We are getting a screamin' deal and I did not know it until I looked it up on zillow

  ok, maybe the word "saved" is inappropriate.... in my case, i would have to count three.

  two of my best friends from when i was growing up who initially resisted my questions and apostate leanings but are now free of the borg and have confided it was our conversations that led to their de-programming.

  and, my sister, through pretty much the same circumstances.

  I shared the info about the UN with my son and daughter-in-law and they took it from there and got out. I also shared it with my best friend and she got out too. So I guess my score is 3, plus my husband.

  Should I Return the Revelation Book that I Took?

  i had mentioned before, that i'm having a 10 year out of the org party!!!!

  to celebrate, i *stole* a copy of the revelation book from my mother, and i planned on sacrificing it in my fire pit, and roasting marshmallows over it.

  the book is very well used, underlined, and all that.. since then, there has been nu lite that they're studying this 18 year old book at the book study again.

  Ohhh I like Merfi's idea a lot! You can add a lot of comments that could pass for the real thing, but be thought provoking. Maybe even a scripture or two. I wouldn't put in the UN letter because that would be a dead give away and she would suspect what you did.
