FOR 'APOSTATE' READ 'GENUINE PERSON'

its members are scared to death of upsetting jehovah (a.k.a.watchtower).
when one starts to have misgivings about being a jw they are often jolted by references to 'apostate' being made.

It didn't even hurt (Re: biopsy)
by MsMcDucket inthe doctor only wanted to use two sites to take the skin biopsies.
i felt a needle prick and that was it!
he used some sort of medical skin shaver to remove the lesions.

You Shall Know My People From Their Actions
by ColdRedRain ingah, it's been a while since i posted here because at this point in my life, i feel as though that i pretty much have put the jw thing in my past and how i've expanded my horizons onto new issues and demons in my life, but i thought you guys would get a kick out of this story involving the jw's and how exclusionary they are.
as some of you know, i live in the upper midwest, an area of the united states that's known for its volatile and extreme weather, especially the wintertime weather.
i went to the kh to see my family because my brother who i've know made peace with was in town and i didn't really feel like waiting in my lonely house to go see my brother.

I totally believe this, and they make me sick with their self-righteousness.
"I'll show HIM! While he's freezing, I'll be driving in my warm car. He'll be thinking about how he's displeased Jehovah."
My mother did this with my son, who was 10 years old at the time. I'd enrolled him in Karate class, and his practice was 4 miles away. My mom was supposed to pick him up after while I was at work. Well, when I got home, I'd learned that she didn't pick him up because she would be "condoning" Karate. And my 10 yo son had to walk down a long dark highway all the way home alone!! This was before cell phones.
BUT.....to show you how hypocritical they are, my mom wrote for the Georgetown Times newspaper, and they asked her to write an article about this very same Karate class. James Pushia was the teacher. (Sensei) She wrote the article and praised the guy for being so good with kids, and being a role model in the community! At the same time making her grandson walk home alone.

Just read the entire thread.........not a soul from any of my congs.
Started out in a tiny KH on Screven St in Georgetown, SC. We only had about 11 members, and used a tiny space over an office building. Had to be around 1961 to '70. Then the black congregation (of which I never knew anything about ) on Prince St combined with ours. Isn't that a shame that all that time there was a black congregation not two miles away, and I had no idea there were any black witnesses????? Plus their KH was beautiful and had lots of heat!! Our KH sucked!

Georgetown, and then to Laurens, South Carolina '74 till '80 after marrying....
after divorcing back to Georgetown, South Carolina, then back to Andrews until '94 when I was born.
