this is a bit lengthy, but is a very big issue with me, and that is the issue of women's rights.
i do agree with women allowing their husbands to make a final decision, being on how women think with their hearts and men think with their heads, making choices often times more logical ones.
but, the husband according to god is supposed to love his wife as his own flesh.

I was raised in the so-called "truth". I remember writing my mother a letter telling her I was getting baptized at an assembly in Greenville, South Carolina. This was in 1975. Two days later my jw husband slammed my head into our wall and made my nose bleed. I called the brothers to my home for a meeting to see if they could help me. They read me a scripture telling me to "be in subjection to my husband" and asked what I had done wrong. (I forgot to iron his shirts)

i am due in the middle of october and my husband and i cannot come up with a name.
i almost had him sold on venus, until he asked people at work what they thought and he got wierd looks.
i wanted to name the last baby sidney, but let him name her because he has never gotten a chance to name a kid before.

I live in Chicago now. But I've lived in Georgetown, Andrews, Columbia, and Charleston. Went to many, many assemblies at the coliseum in Columbia. I used to work in Cayce.
I just drove down there (Andrews)last year to help my daughter move to Chicago. The only thing I really miss is the fresh seafood. NOT the mosquitoes!!! They are so big down there they can carry you off into the woods!
All my nieces and my nephew still live there. In Georgetown. So, I'll be going to visit soon. With the bug spray!

Seriously? I see the parallels. My grandfather was a Freemason and used to tell me that's where the jw religion came from. He used to drive my grandmother and mom (both jws) crazy with his insistence they were related. Stranger things....oh well, you know.

I don't remember a specific article, but I do remember my mother(JW)
telling my step-dad(non-JW) that she didn't want him playing it in the house. She said that chess was a war game and since witnesses are not allowed to join the armed forces, they shouldn't play it. Which is why I play it now!

the question has always been, primarily: is jehovah really god?
secondarily, the question has been: are jehovahs witnesses really jehovahs witnesses?
or, perhaps worded differently: is the watchtower really the voice of christs appointed faithful and discreet slave of prophecy?
Someone said on another board that they were very frightened at the things that were happening to the org. concerning child abuse, etc. They asked if this was what the prophecy meant about Jehovahs' people being persecuted and that maybe they should return to the fold.
I don't think the prophecy meant being persecuted for WRONGDOING! According to the wts, they would be persecuted for being His chosen people. But I knew they would somehow twist this around to make it seem like this is prophecy being fulfilled. They have to scare the living daylights out of their members in order to keep them!
It's all bullshit!
