In 1878 the process of setting up the kingdom began. The Lord raised the sleeping saints. WT 6/1/1922,

“The Watchtower has long presented the view that this resurrection of anointed Christians from death commenced in the year 1918.” WT 86 10/1

Them saying the resurrection started in 1918 shows that they were wrong about saying it started in 1878.

If the resurrection truly started in 1918 that means for 40 years they were claiming the resurrection occurred before it actually did.

Would Paul apply this to the WTS leading men during the years of 1878-1918?

What about today in 2024 if the resurrection didn't occur starting in 1918?

It didn't start then, 106 years ago. It does not start until Jesus comes after the GT. When he comes, with him comes the start of God's kingdom. When he comes it is what is considered to be the 'last day'. This is when the first resurrection occurs, and the 1,000 years begin.

[8 However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.]

It should be 8 million+ if they were taught Scripturally. The partaking is to proclaim Jesus' death, not to proclaim that you feel you are chosen to rule with him.

Hold your horses everybody, the rumour is they’re dropping the literal 144,000, this doesn’t necessarily mean dropping the anointed heavenly hope/other sheep earthly hope distinction.

That's what I think. It will probably be said that there are those that will be chosen to rule with Jesus, but we no longer believe that it will be a literal number of 144K. We don't know how many there will be. Rev 20:4

to me it is quite evident that the gt spoken about in matthew 24, mark 13 and luke 21 is a one time, non-repeatable localized event resulting in the destruction of jerusalem and the temple followed by the dispersion of surviving jews throughout the nations.. however, what is not so clear to most is that the gt of revelation deals with the same event.

my understanding is that the gb of jehovah witnesses has no clue as to how to interpret the apocalyptic messages found both in the synoptics and revelation.

Duran, I see it differently. I follow the natural Revelation sequence in this case. Beast from the sea was first on the scene. It had a limited lifespan:
Note now the activities of Beast from the earth. It put up an image of Beast from the sea. In my mind that means that Beast from the sea is no more. It then gave breath to the image, the image now becoming a beast in its own right:
The new beast is identified in Rev. 17 as the scarlet-colored wild beast, i.e., Beast from the abyss.

If that is how you see it, it is because you are still stuck on WTS teachings and ignore Scriptures.

The lifespan of the beast from the sea is not limited to 42 months. The 42 months has to do with the said authority that it will be given after it gets healed.

Lifespan is: prior to death-stroke=was>>>>>>>death-stroke=is not>healed=out of the abyss>42-month authority>>after 42 months end kills 2 witnesses/battle with Jesus>thrown into lake=goes off into destruction

Note- There is the beast/false prophet (2) and the beast (1) that has a mark and image separate of it. The image is not a beast in itself.

Duran, Revelation has a total of three beasts: 1) Beast from the sea to rule 42 months (Rev. 13:1, 5). 2) Beast from the earth (false prophet) (13:8). 3) Beast from the abyss (scarlet-colored wild beast) (11:7; 17:3, 7, 8). Beast from the sea would have been assimilated by Beast from the abyss because Jesus would dispatch only two at Amageddon, namely Beast from the abyss and the false prophet (19:19, 20).

It is the beast from the sea along with the beast from the earth (false prophet) that is said to be the two that are thrown into the fiery lake at Armagoodon. That said the beast from sea in Rev 13 is the same as the beast from Rev 17, the 8th king who rules for 42 months.

The beast is in the abyss when he receives the death-stroke. Then is out of the abyss when the death-stroke gets healed. It goes off into destruction when it gets thrown into the fiery lake. Revelation 17:8;13:3,8;19:20

So, how will we know when the great tribulation begins? When everybody is able to see the signs:

No that is not the case. You are mixing signs and events.

The 'signs' with the sun, moon, stars happen AFTER the GT and they serve to show Jesus is coming. The ones in fear at that time are the ones that took the MOTB during the 42-month rule. The ones that are lifting their head are those that refused the MOTB and underwent GT for doing so.

i thought i would share it here if anyone is so inclined to write one.

for those with pimi jw family and jw business connections, it may not be wise to share such a letter, but i imagine it must be very freeing to send such a letter.

Nowhere does the Bible mention that Christians should call themselves by the name that God gave to the people of Israel, which significantly does not appear once in the basic Greek text of the New Testament. We want to be witnesses of Jesus and simply be called Christians - as Jesus commanded and as it was also ordained by divine providence (Acts 1:8; 11:26).

A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is a witness of his God and Father Jehovah. (John 20:17;16:27;17:7,8)

To follow Jesus would mean too also be a witness of Jehovah.

What allowed these people to be JWs to begin with?

There will be no WTS/GB post-Armageddon.

There will be individual JWs post-Armageddon, but not because of their association with the WTS today, but because when the time comes for the 8th king to rule, they will refuse to support it. (Refuse the MOTB)

That will be the case for all people now that will be in the post-Armageddon world.
