Kaleb-In other words, the meaning of the narrative is not "this is God's self definition," as we were once taught by Watchtower, but that what it means to be divine is often found in what it means to be human.
On the contrary, it could be well argued that the Watchtower is just as responsible for the confusion someone like Tonus experiences regarding who God truly is for believers.
People like Tonus cannot fathom that God is both capable of giving punishment and giving reward. People like this perhaps once thought that God was a big teddy bear, yet that is not how the scriptures have ever defined him. If not the scriptures, then it falls on man for having caused this confusion.

I am talking about what god's actions --as depicted in his holy book-- say about him, and am willing to use both god's and man's definitions as a basis of comparison.
It would help if you stuck to God's self definition. All confusion would disappear.

Liam-The resurrection is a big thing to them, but three resurrections is not enough to prove anything. Worse is two resurrections, especially when Jesus admits the girl was not dead which now makes it to two resurrections.
One resurrection performed by Christ would suffice for believers. 100 resurrections wouldn't be enough for non-believers.
I'm trying to show how it all falls apart when examined carefully.
Look carefully then, and see how Christ described the little girl, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as all being alive.

Good, if you accept the words of Jesus as truth then you will also find his statement here just as true-
31 But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you,
32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’ ? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.
It appears that neither Abraham, Isaac nor Jacob died either.

Tonus -So we ignore the actions that contradict the definition and only consider the ones that don't? That gives us an incomplete understanding of who god is, doesn't it?

Liam-About the little girl, He also said Plainly; “Stop weeping, for she did not die but is sleeping.
This was Liam's original issue. If the little girl was only sleeping according to Jesus, did he resurrect her or not? Liam implied that Jesus lied.
But Jesus also said that a man that simply looks at a woman lustfully had committed adultery with her. He also said that hating your brother was the same as murdering him.
But if there is no physical murder, or sex as in the other case then was Jesus lying here too?

Duran -Why do parents (man/woman) make the 'choice' to bring children into a world full of 'suffering'? Is that a LOVING thing to do?
I suspect human parents have varied reasons for planning and having a child. But if statistics and Elon musk are to be believed, less and less children are being born. And couples cite correctly because it's become financially unsustainable. Not to mention what you pointed out, that this world does indeed seem to be going to crap. And it isn't just the standard 'wars and famine'. There's a psychological breakdown that is becoming more prevalent. It would take a lot to convince me to intentionally bring a child into this world right now.
