false equivocation if you incorrectly think 'pharmakeia' means 'worship'
Hehehe...and how exactly do you think the powers of magic and witchcraft are obtained?
for believers of god and christ, it seems that it should be obvious that babylon the great of revelation should be all religions and spiritual practices associated with the one true enemy of christ...the devil, satan, the snake etc.
essentially any group or individual practicing and promoting witchcraft, sorcery, devil worshipping etc.
all things practiced in ancient babylon (the nation presumably used as the model for the one in revelation).. or is this too simple of an explanation?.

I've already touched on that. Manasseh practiced a form of Canaanite worship (which included child sacrifice).
So it was about spirituality after all...
Perhaps to you worship of one god is no different from worship to another. But according to scriptures it does in fact matter.
Ancient Babylon clearly did not worship the God that Judah was supposed to worship faithfully either...and God destroyed it too. It is this spiritual opposition to God that prompts all this destruction.
So the scriptures most certainly place huge emphasis on this pharmakeia.

The Israelites were, in reality, originally just another one of the Canaanite tribes.
Not according to scripture....
None of this is actually why Babylon destroyed Jerusalem though.
But what does the Bible say?

Jeffro-The other scriptures that you 'want' to refer to are further superstitious attempts to frame what happened due to 'divine punishment', but they are ad hoc rationalisations retroactively presented as 'prophecy'
All good and dandy, but let's stick to actual scripture and limit external commentary. Any idea what Manasseh did?

Are you sure?
Go back a little farther to Jeremiah chapter 15- "I will make all of the kingdoms on earth hate them. That will happen because of what Manasseh did in Jerusalem. He was king of Judah and the son of Hezekiah."
Any idea what Manasseh did?

You attribute far too much significance to the use of the term 'pharmakeia'
According to the scriptures (a huge part of the old testament actually), why did God previously destroy Jerusalem?

while ignoring not only reason but also the contradictory faith of others.
Hehehe...I literally keep referencing the faith of those against Christ...
Again, you cannot understand what I'm even asking in this thread...

The scriptures are about God, yet you claim they aren't.
Yes, you are confused.

almost always with unfalsifiable claims involving vague symbolism, conveniently invisible ‘fulfilments’, and remaining failures as ‘still in the future’.
You're all over the place jeffro, confusing the spiritual with the physical.
It is 'vague symbolism' to you because you have no faith. As I stated earlier, approach the scriptures correctly, otherwise you will remain confused.
