Would that be like calling a telemarketer back to tell them how crappy the thing they tried to sell you was?

just another religion
by teejay inpatriotism is a religion just like every other religion.
either you believie it and live it or you don't.. i see people waving the flag at sporting events, hear them mouthing the words, "we're all one nation, blah, blah, blah" but then they go out and flip one another off in the parking lot.
just like people at the kingdom hall who supposedly love jehovah (or jesus or allah) and after the meeting is over, they go right back to the way they were.. love of country is no more influential than love of god.

I relish no death Ginny. War sucks. War is bad. War is inevitable.
People will die. Innocent people. Innocent people have died, every day since the dawn of man. I do not cheer death but I would have it that my country is safe from attack. These men have families? You mean they are not some evil spawn of Satan himself? Of course they have families. So did the Nazis. So did Ghengis Khan. So I guess we should not stand up to attacks on our our citizens so that Abu's mommy wont get sad?
What exactly do you propose? Sanctions? I dont think sanctions would have stopped Adolf. It didnt stop the Japanese in 1941. Sanctions just piss people off more, just like invading their homeland. And a stern talking to isnt going to stop these men.
Religion is NOT the reson people kill, hatred is. Religion is just the excuse.

Sooner or later, sooner I suppose, terrorists will have to be 'physically incarcerated' in a six foot hole. It unfortunaly comes down to that in this world, it has since the dawn of man.
When men are at odds and the stakes are survival people will die. When people A want to kill people B, the existance of both are mutually exclusive and people B will have to protect themselves from people A or be killed. I would like the 'human family' idea to be true but it isnt. People can get along in general but sometimes we are enemies-mortal enemies.

God's image
by Rex B13 inwe are made in god's image and he is a person, not just some invisible, omnipresent force.
here is some more research for those who love to ask questions yet won't do the digging.. the bible consistently portrays god as a passionate individual, whose inner experiences of love, compassion, grief, delight, joy, peace, anguish, and moral outrage at atrocity dwarf ours in the extreme.
the bible makes no apology for this, but rather exults in the living one, in contrast to the dead and lifeless idols that surrounded its writers.. one scholar put it thus:.

Conflicted: You speak what I feel man. I think maybe you could be my spiritual leader. You know just fire up some cockamany religion waving a bible, throw in some eternal this and holy that doctrine. I could be the VP maybe. We would need lots of donations of course and I could use a new car, you know for the lords work. We would need some hard core zealots though, this Rex fella seems pretty venomous in his words and if we get him enrolled, well he could maybe be over the public relations dept. And then we could.......

Good points from both sides. I think some like myself that were raised JW were never taught a "reverence" for the flag itself. We never said the pledge and were taught the flag was an idol. These ideals were not incorporated in our minds at young ages by the rituals performed every day in school. So while some see a flag as a the incarnation of freedom itself, others see it a just a flag. I see it as the 'colors' of a nation and a symbol but not to be revered and worshipped. The ideals and realities that the flag represents are far more important than the flag itself.
The 'team colors' analogy makes a lot of sense to me. I wear my team colors when I go to a football game and I adorn myself in team paraphernalia at times. I cheer for my team and criticize them when they do things I dont like(but I still wear the shirt.) However, things like burning a flag because it touches the ground seem very illogical to me. I see the flag as the 'logo' of our nation it is a symbol that represents us and our ideals as a nation so if you want to wave a flag, great. We just put one up for the first time on our house but I wont pledge allegiance to a piece of cloth and if it touches the ground when I take it down, oh well.
When it is said that people die "defending our flag" I dont take that literally because they really died defending the ideals and way of life we use the flag as a symbol for.
I hope our team wins with a shutout.

What about US terrorist groups?
by tdogg inall of these speeches and tv specials with their analysts and experts but not once have i heard any mention of us terrorist groups.
we are trying to attack the outside world and those who harbor terrorism but i ask: what is the difference between armed men in training camps training to kill with hateful prejudice in say, sudan and the same camps we harbor in say, idaho?
yes, these places are for real and these people are only waiting for an opportunity to use their skills and weapons for their hateful fancies.

You make some very good points. I agree that those are the reasons why they are not going to make a move on these guys. But you would think GWB would at least acknowledge that this type of behavior, the same type already displayed by US citizens in retaliation aginst random Arabs, will be considered along the same lines.
As far as the KKK, the "toothless old men", that may be your perception. Believe me they are alive and well and recruiting. They have many young people involved and are meeting in a neighborhood near you.
I guess you also make the point that we have to wait for terrorists to kill lots of people before we can do anything about it.
I am not sure what this means:
"And you seem to think GW is afraid to say 'who' or 'what' the war is on. You forget his daddy kicked Saddam Hussein's ass, and we knew about it."I think you are saying GB ordered troops into Iraq therfore GWB is not afraid to say who or what the war is on. If so I dont see the correlation, but I may have not understood what you were trying to say.
Thanks for the tip on Dees, that was interesting.
Have you looked at the Aryan Nations website? That shit is scary. -

Anthrax, Vaginas and Cropdusters
by Tallyman ini know, what a weird title for a thread.. over a year ago, i read in some news media of speculation in the .
intelligence community that terrorists were in the beginning stages.
of launching a biological-terrorist attack in the u.s.. in the article was the belief that muslim (islamic fanatic) women arriving by airflights into the u.s., were the smugglers of genetically-engineered/modified anthrax bacteria cultures, by concealing these cultures in some form of protective casings, within their vaginas.... much the same way some drug smugglers bring in heroin or cocaine into the country by putting it in condoms and cramming these into whatever body orifice they can.. then these women would deliver the goods to 'underground' laboratories in the u.s. (could be someone's kitchen or basement) for growing these cultures of biological strains into enough of a quantity of bacteria to release in an attack.... and then 9/11 came.. and then this article appears in the media:.

I wonder what would happen if customs demanded to strip search a Muslim women in full garb?

Conflicted: I read your posts on this thread and we are of the same mind on the matter of faith and likey share a simmilar past.
If we are created then we are created as logical reasoning beings. We observe the world to ascertain facts. Then all of a sudden when it comes to God and religion we must forego our logic and reason and fill in the gaps with faith. Moses got a burning bush. The apostles had visions. They didn't have to have faith they had proof.
