Old Kingdom Melodies
by muslima ineven after a bit of time has gone by - do lyrics to "kingdom melodies" still drift in anyone's head?.
it is over 6 years now -- yesterday and even still now - for whatever reason the song with the lyrics "the way of the truth is the best way of living" -- just that line kept going through my head!

Survived the Birthday Celebration (again)

it was a dear friend from high school, now turned 40. at this gathering, i met people i hadn't seen in over 20 years!!
lost years for me, but i'm not complaining.. tonight my sister celebrated her 39th, at her in-laws' home.

Randy I can say that I found your web site helpful personally. However when I first began to look for such information on the web, many of the anti-JW sites,including yours,did appear to be overly bitter.Now the same info does not appear that way to me.
I think we are conditioned as JW's to resist any discord in belief so when we first are exposed to it we will tend to take the same view as the one sent you the email. Eventually his/her views will polarize and be either reinforced or refuted, but that depends on the individual.You cant save everyone.
You do a good service that is greatly appreciated by many so you can't let a few critics dictate what you do. They are only lashing out because of their own spiritual dillema. Thanks again.

divining rods work
by zerubberballz init's a funny ol' world.
a month ago i was mucking about with some thick fencing wire and i suddenly got the idea to bend a couple of pieces into a set of divining rods like i've seen old nutters doing on tv.
so i cut two sections of wire about 2' long and bent the ends 4" at 90 degrees to form old fashioned diving rods (twitching sticks are made of yew or hickory or something .. don't know what, if anything aboriginies used).

Why the Dinosaur in the Green NWT Bible?

bibles is a map, and in the map is a drawing of a dinosaur.. does anyone know why the dinosaur is there?.

The whole stance of the WTS on dinosaurs was in fact one of the main causes of doubt for me. When I had digested enough factual evidence to counteract the nonsense the society had concocted, or borrowed as it were, I could begin to question the veracity of their teachings.The Mormons here had a nickmane for the green NWT but it escapes me...

Music. I started playing guitar when I was 12 and during the darkest times that is the only thing that kept me going. I think any hobby or aspiration that allows you to have a catharic experience can help keep your sanity.Writing and playing music was that for me and the Watchtower could not take it away.Now with all that was sacrificed to the WTS I at least have one thing that I excell at.

The "This Generation" line really had me scared during not only my active days but for years after I left the org. Getting over this particular point of indoctrination was very helpful for me in my recovery. To watch them squirm and try to spin this off does make feel a bit angry though.

Do JW's really 'trust in Jehovah'????

they fervently preach, teach, publish unending articles about god's protection, even baptising converts who have sworn an oath to jehovah and his "representitive organization" .
they believe unreservedly that god takes a, moment by moment, active role in watching out, taking palpable action on behalf of jw welfare.
